shanny in sorry to hear they keep moving the finish line for this ordeal. Are you still able to stay at the RMH? Is FaceTime at least able to keep you talking to M?
Ugh. Wish there was something we could do to make this better for you.
@suesposa sorry it went shitty. Will that impact your move date?
I'm sorry shanny. It's good they're being extra cautious now. I'm sure they want to make sure that when you do go home, your mind is as at ease as possible. Fingers crossed you're home soon.
Chest tubes came out. You often hear about baby's heart rates calming down when they are snuggling with their moms. I never fully understood this until this afternoon as I finally get to hold my son, free of any tubes and IV lines. Monitors confirmed his HR rhythm.
PS is there really no Wednesday randoms or is tapatalk drunk?

Oh man. Today was a doozy. H was out for 10+ hours. Thankfully my sister was here helping out. The babies were on a nap strike and there was almost no time all day when both babies were sleeping. They fed more than every 2 hours (I'm wondering if that's because they went longer than normal at night?). We barely managed to eat because every time we started making food a baby would wake up. I feel like a zombie.
H is home now and the babies are finally sleeping. A friend ordered dinner for us. I'm about to take a shower. Things are looking up!

I took the kids to our local petting zoo today & we stayed for the cow-milking demo. It was cool, but I had such envy over that dairy cow's output. Had we gone to the morning demo, where output is 3x as much, I might've cried. I got 2 oz (total) during 1 pumping session the other day & was ready to collect my trophy.
@suesposa monitor to make sure there isn't more fluid in his lung and such then see that he's gaining weight. My little guy went back to birth weight percentile after climbing up to ~40th percentile.
Hope the move preparation is going okay and you get legal stuff sorted out.

Wonder Week 5, I hate you. DD3 was actually making me think we'd avoid the horrors of sleep I had with my older two, but I knew we had to get past this wonder week to be sure. And now her sleep has gone to total pieces. I am so demoralized I am near tears.
But she did roll belly to back twice today. Also she has invented a game with DH called "paci and grin" where you tickle her mouth with the paci and she grins widely. So I guess we'll keep her .
Also H worked a long day today. Props to those of you who are doing this alone or with a partner who works long hours. By five I was pulling my hair out!
Today was my first day home alone with both kids. I give major props to all of you home every day with 2+ kids. I came to the conclusion I can either make food or eat it, but not both haha. And I'm pretty sure we're in the middle of a growth spurt. DS wanted to eat every 1.5-2 hours (usually goes closer to 3). And of course nurse longer. DD of course wanted attention and kept trying to use me as a jungle gym. I had to resist the urge to let her watch all the TV.

This gave me goosebumps. I'm so glad you got to snuggle your little guy!

Hey everyone hugs and support all the way around. Hubs has been out of town Sun/Mon, home Mon evening then traveling again since early Tuesday morning. 100% me for the 3y/o and the noob, I feel like I am earning Mario coins for parenting with each new day/challenge here. Two kids is hard! Amazing and wonderful but so so busy.
Baby is finally (hopefully) asleep for more than 20 minutes. I'm trying not to stress about the fact that she hasn't pooped since 8:30 pm yesterday. Is everyone else's babies having their BMs slow down after the six week mark? She's passing tons of gas, just no poop. With DD1, I recall her pooping only once a week at some points but I don't remember when it slowed.
Tonight, Ripley has the first night nurse he had when he was in NICU. She remembers us and said we were a special and very sweet family. I had been wondering if any nurses would remember us a month out.

My girl is just past 2 weeks old, but I will just toss out our experience with her, and her big sister. Neither is/was a frequent pooper as a tiny baby. DD1 now will typically have 1-2 a day, but she is past 2 years. DD2 just had her second poop at home (she had a few in the hospital) today. Both times are quite impressive amounts with all the right color and texture, and some breastfed babies just metabolize super efficiently. She gets plenty of wet diapers, too.
Bowel movements in babies has such a wide range of normalcy, that unless baby is showing signs of distress, it is hard for me personally to get too worried over it. Although, granted, DD2 definitely appeared more relaxed post-poop today! A week is a long time for anybody to not go!

DD3 has not pooped since Tuesday. Plenty (but not more than usual gas), does not seem in pain. Wonder Week 5 is all about brain growth and metabolism changes so I was chalking it up to that.
ETA: I meant Monday, not Tuesday. Up until now there was one real poop or even two a day and lots of little blorts with every fart. Now nothing.
gratefulgirl I don't really follow/understand the wonder weeks... does Ww5 happen when they are 5 weeks old?
For a few days in the range of 4 1/2-5 1/2 weeks after due date give or take. With the early shorter Wonder Weeks (5, 8, 12) they only last a few days to a week. For the later ones they last several weeks.
Wonder Week 19 is what causes the 4 month sleep regression and is a major doozy that can start as early as 13 weeks and last all six weeks.
Everything with Wonder Weeks is by due date, not birthday.

Thanks @suesposa venyiagratefulgirl. She put out two small BMs so far today, which was the first time since Tuesday evening. She was pooping every hour for a while there so this is odd.
We definitely are having the first leap here. I read about the metabolism changes too. It's comforting to know that others are having the same thing.
