Morning! Baby is asleep but I'm sitting here holding her upright. She ate a ton from my super full side and I'm pretty she is going to projectile spit up everywhere the second I put her down. That's just her style. But my sisters are here:) They are on East Coast time so at least I will have company soon!
Good morning. My two year old is sleeping like crap. I was so tired last night he managed to sneak into our bed without waking me up, which never happens. So he has been up for the day since DH's alarm went off at 545. And of course he woke the baby up. There is not enough coffee in the world

Kiddo woke me up at 6am to eat and he fell back asleep after 5 minutes. Now that I'm up for the day, I'm drinking a smoothie and watching the news while he is laying on me belly laughing and smiling in his sleep.
I wish I knew what babies dreamt about. DS is usually smiley and giggly in his sleep, but last night he let out a long, high pitched shriek. He didn't seem bothered by it and stayed asleep, but it scared the crap out of me while I was holding him after he ate.

Good morning! Ds2 was up for a bit just fussy for his pacifier, and then woke to eat at 3. Soo much better than he has been this week! But, i must not have assembled the bottle correctly before bed, and as soon as I tried to feed him it spilled everywhere. He takes it straight from the fridge, so it was a pretty cold surprise!
Dh already boarded his flight. I I cannot wait for him to be back home.

Yesterday ds1 saw a commercial for dunkin donuts. We've been there all of twice with him, but he keeps saying we need to go this morning. I'm not really going to fight it, so a trip to the grocery store and dunkin are on this morning's agenda.

We didn't get to bed until late here and then DD showed up in my room at 12:30 and was a sobbing mess. I went and laid with her for a bit and woke up at 2:30 because I could hear the baby screaming. While I was feeding him DD came in crying again. She was laying in my bed and walked over crying asking to sit in the chair with me. I felt bad knowing she couldn't while I fed him. Once I got back into bed she snuggled me and asked me if we were sure we locked all the doors because she was afraid bad people were going to come into the house. She was a mess over this.
I'm not sure what's up with her lately but I'm struggling. I feel like I'm failing at parenting both kids while getting everything done and being a good wife.
Hey just a quick update. We got admited for a bowel obstruction. Baby girl has had constipation and I guess a block of poo formed and only a little bit was able to pass. We got iv med and fluids and she is feeling better. We should avoid surgery, but it's now up to her to pass what the meds break up. The nurses are fussing about her sleeping on her stomach so I'm holding her. Thanks for all the T&P! Hope everyone else is doing well
steph I can relate. My DS is only 2 so can't communicate as well as your daughter, but he keeps waking up at night very upset. He wants to be close to me, my husband and the baby. It's so hard to manage two kids throughout the night

DS cries out in his sleep all the time. He sounds like a dog barking! DD actually thought there was s dog in our house haha. These babies crack me up.
kokopelli ugh so sorry that she has to deal with all that. I strongly suggest following a pediatric GI doctor when you are out. DD has had constipation issues that aren't nearly as bad as what you are dealing with, but the GI doctor helped so much. Hopefully she'll pass the poo soon and you can get home. Never easy having a sick kid, but especially one so little.

I'm glad they identified the problem and she's feeling better!
meagpt22 can you tell me what the GI doctors recommended? She is just 3 months (1 mo adjusted) so I'm not sure how they can change her diet. The hospital dr is pushing me to up my breastfeeding and use less formula. So basically she will be premantly on my breast since I only make a few oz a day right now
I just bought a hands free pumping bra. I paid for same day delivery. The things I'm buying these days.
It's a game changer. I mean pumping stil sucks donkey balls (IMHO), but at least you can play on your phone.
I've become adept at holding both pumps, managing baby's pacifier/lying on the floor situation, and somewhat reading my phone, but I'm thinking this will make that even better. And, I need to add in a night pumping session so I can doze while pumping, if necessary.
kokopelli I'm glad she doesn't need surgery! You have been through so much these past months.
We find out at rounds today whether R gets to go home! I'm having trouble staying asleep now. This little guy has been at the hospital almost half of his life (19 out of 41 days of life, including today).
Slow motion burnout sucks because you think you are doing all right, then suddenly, you aren't. DD1 never did come out of her defiant funk yesterday, culminating in bedtime from hell that ran 3 hours over. Which means when she wakes up here soon, today has a good chance of being a repeat of yesterday.
And I lost it after trying to get her to fall asleep for over an hour so I could go feed DD2 and take us all to bed. Eventually, SO took DD1, my sister held DD2 after feeding, and I hid in my bed even though I can't sleep knowing my babies aren't settled for the night. And now I am awake and dreading today.
kokopelli what a rough time for your baby! Hopefully the poo passes soon and she feels better!.

I know you are on special formula so not sure if that can be changed. I didn't take DD until she was 1 after she was bleeding with passing stool and screamed in pain. But we do Benefiber and Miralax to create "peaceful pooping". But she also had her do a barium enema to rule out any structural issues. The GI doctor may offer other suggestions for someone younger. Our GI doctor basically said it is not normal for children to be chronically constipated..especially when it's from birth. We never came up with a cause and the Benefiber/Miralax worked. We haven't been able to wean off that, but she no longer screams in pain.
