Good luck watermelonseed! It maybe rough for a couple nights but you can do it!
I hope your LOs are being more agreeable cbrandt1 and unringthebell. DS was the same way and it was rough. We swaddled and did the whole very slow set down and hand on the belly for a long time with him. I remember having to stay and hold his legs down for like 10 minutes for a period of time since he would fling them down and wake himself up. The good news is that it didn't last forever.. you will get through this!
DH bought the wrong size diapers today at the store. DD got up and I just took care of her because he wasn't up yet. DD proceeds to have a huge blowout because the diapers are too big. Thanks DH.

@uringthebell sorry to hear you might have a clogged duct. I had one last week. I was able to unclog it at home by standing under a very hot shower for about 10 minutes and then kneading my knuckle on the clot. OB gave me the tip.
You'll definitely know if you got it out or not it shoots everywhere. After no more came out I was told to pump for 15 minutes to hopefully get the remainder.
cbrandt1 I'm trying to keep her as quiet as possible too. Which sucks because I think I have a clogged duct on the right (she won't nurse from that side and there's a giant hard spot). Of course I can't put her down to try to work it out.
Oh no! Try to get her to nurse on the right and try to put her chin where the blockage is. That sucks, I'm so sorry. You could try pumping it out too but you'll probably have to do a lot more massaging.
Is anyone else experiencing sharp shooting pains in their ovary area?? I'm 9 days pp and I randomly get these terrible pains. Usually it comes after a bm but not always. I've also still got bright red bleeding...
I plan on calling the midwives tomorrow but just wanted to see if I was alone or not.

cbrandt1 I don't have the pain and I'm sorry you do!! The bleeding, though, I was told is normal for up to a possible 6 weeks. My MW said they want to hear from me if I'm soaking more than a pad an hour or if I pass a monster clot. I'm 29 days PP and my bleeding has slowed, but is still happening... though it's now less red and more pink. With my first, my bleeding was done at 2 weeks, this time it's just holding on... because I'm more active this time.

I get random back cramps and hip pain, probably from all the pushing. And it's relaxed some but the uterine cramping whenever I nursed was almost unbearable the first three days. Now I'd say my worst pain is a sharp tug at my stitches if I get up too quickly and an overall tenderness in both breasts as I deal with some minor engorgement. I'm five days post partum

@cbrandt, I had some random pains in my abdomen for about a week or two. I'm 3 1/2 weeks out now and my bleeding has just stopped. It took longer last time.

Random question - E reacts really well to white noise as a trigger for sleep. Nighttime is going great with a fan white noise machine and during the day I've been using the sleep sheep to get some good naps. I love the sleep sheep for daytime since we will need something portable that daycare can use on her crib as well. Except it shuts off after 45 minutes (who the heck designed that?!) and depending on the nap she wakes up when it shuts off. Does anyone know of a portable white noise/soother that can run continuously or at least 90 min and can attach to a crib? I want to introduce something at home soonish for the random naps we take now to help us eventually when she's ready for a more structured day and also to make it easier to transition to daycare in January. She does so well with our bedtime routine and being ready for sleep and I know from our son that we didn't figure out naps until we started being consistent with how we started them.
jennybeans your daycare will use white noise? Mine won't. That always annoyed me.
They let us send portable things like the sleep sheep only for the infant room and they will obviously only run on low volume. It can't be anything in the crib either so it has to be able to hang on the rail and be on batteries.
Also, I'm glad you got some sleep! Sorry the nursing is going rough though. Hopefully the LC can help that.
Thanks! But since I got up and ate breakfast they seem to have stopped. Why couldn't they just annoy me during the day and let me sleep??
I do no envy the people who played this game for weeks.
Oh bummer, I'm sorry! I played the game for weeks, and it did suck! But the real contractions were much different. They ran much deeper into my pelvis if that makes sense.

That may be perfect! I looked at it once overnight (these are the things I think about in the motn apparently) and didn't realize it had a continuous option.. thank you!
I nursed the baby back to sleep at 4am and then he pooed, so I had to change him and he was no longer hungry. So awake baby and I watched a little Netflix...and he pooed again. luckily by then he was willing to nurse again and we both got to sleep a little more.

I told my husband that tonight was either going to be amazing and E sleeps all night (in which case I set an alarm to wake me up to nurse her) or terrible and I'm up every hour. Looks like we are somewhere in the middle since I got about and hour and a half of sleep. Should have been more but the toddler woke up during E's bedtime and was crying for a half hour so I didn't go right to sleep. Crossing my fingers that I get at least 2 hour increments all night (longer would be good too....)...

Staying the night at the hospital. I have a nurse from the Philippines or somewhere similar that I can't understand who insisted on teaching me about tube feeding at 12am knowing shes needs to feed J again at two. Lady leave me alone so I can sleep. Please, please pretty please.
Well we've moved the pnp up to our room in hopes we will have better luck with it than the bassinet. So far we've been cluster feeding all night. I'm so tired! I don't understand how he can sleep nearly all day downstairs in the pnp, but refuses in our room.
DD went down at 10 and just woke at 1:30. Changed and fed her and she's already back asleep!! Husband is in guest bed because he wanted a good nights sleep so I didn't even have to get out of bed to change her. Now I want to do this every night!!sorry DH!
