SAHMs when does it stop feeling like the weekend?
I get sad H is at work and can't play with us because so many days feel like Saturday when it's me and the kids and a wide open schedule. I guess it's just Monday and Friday that feel that way because the boys have school Tues to Thur.
Either way, I'm still really enjoying being home. Even on the crazy days. I have two more weeks at home, then we are going to NOVA for two weeks to visit the Inlaws and then I'm back at work:( I'm loving this so much. Work is going to be a huge struggle.
At least I only intend to be back for eight months:) and we all know how fast that time flies!
coffeequeen14 it must be so nice to know you only have to return to work for 8 months. Like even on a bad day you can just think 8 months. I'm no longer full time and spread my 4 days out between two hospitals. So on bad days I just think I won't be here (at that hospital) for another week or think I'm off tomorrow, etc. It makes it so much easier to get through the day.
We are taking all of the kids home (2.5 hour drive) to our house today for a visit because we have an open house!! Please send home selling vibes we need this place to sell will make life so much easier

I'm here, I'm here! This weekend started off eventfully with a trip to the hospital for little miss R (LED's DD). She stopped breathing for a hot second yesterday and turned blue.
But all is good! We spent the night for observation and should go home today.
Oh gosh. How is mom? Did they determine why? How's baby!

Jesus. Why?
My niece did this as a little. She'd cry, stop breathing, pass out and then be fine. I hope my kid doesn't do this.

I hope baby is ok. This is terrifying to me!! DD makes weird noises every once in a while and I freak out so I can't imagine if she stopped breathing.

My baby makes wheezing/high pitched whistling noises while breathing. Pediatrician explained that it's normal and she'll grow out of it. I also asked about her uneven breathing while sleeping - also normal. She said it's all more distressing for parents than babies. Ask about the noises - the doc should make you feel better.
My niece's breathing thing was actually common. Stressful!!!! But common. She had to grow out of it.

My kid practically hyperventilated after crying (which she has to do sometimes because #thirdchild). Pedi reassured me, but it is oddly comforting to hear about your niece.

Mom was, of course, really upset and panicked. I don't think she got any sleep last night because of the adrenaline.
It's apparently just one of those random events that can happen. It's, weirdly, kind of common, apparently. Though I don't know how common is common. 1 in X babies? Idk.
It's called a BRUE /BREW ee/. Brief Resolved Unexplained Event. They don't expect it to happen again and the best they've got for why it may have happened in the first place is a reflux event. Maybe she just got some milk thrown up into her larynx and it spasmed? It's a theory!
But she's definitely fine now. No further worries (aside from normal mom being terrified that it happened at all worries), her O2 was great all night, she's acting totally normal, the only thing that indicates that it even happened is that we're sitting in a hospital. Weird shit, man.

We went to the orchard to pick apples and raspberries and dig potatoes, then played in the play area and finished the day with cider and donuts. Now we are home, exhausted and H is watching the football while I read

Where did you go?
We are going to NOVA in twoish weeks and I'm planning my fall activities. We generally go to Lariland because that's where we went when we lived in MD and we can do apple picking, pumpkin picking and a hay ride all in one spot but it's kinda far from my IL.

Butler's Orchard. It's a great one. Pretty far, but the ones in VA aren't any closer for us

jesus. That is so scary. And DD does (and DS2 did) have reflux/apnea episodes where she stops breathing for a brief second and then gulps for air. It's one of many reasons I cosleep.

Yes, R does this, too. LED hadn't noticed until last night, of course, but it's a very normal breathing pattern for small human. <3

Ugh I can't stop hack coughing. I finally broke down and took meds and even those aren't helping. I feel so crummy. Hoping baby girl doesn't get this. It's hard to keep the germs away from her.

Yup. I asked at our last pediatrician appointment because I thought baby had apnea.
But, CPR?! I would not even know what to do. Did 911 talk her through it or did she know? Hugs for LED!!
I'm still alive! Dax is doing beautifully. Today we wore him in a carrier and did a humane society fun walk. So many puppies. Now the baby is sleeping on my chest. I'm going to miss this so much when I go back to work. :-( I'm already sad.
