Man, so, DS is on a multivitamin with iron and it makes him spit up so much for the next few hours. I hate giving it to him, but the pedi wants him on it.
Yes, R does this, too. LED hadn't noticed until last night, of course, but it's a very normal breathing pattern for small human.
Yup. I asked at our last pediatrician appointment because I thought baby had apnea.
But, CPR?! I would not even know what to do. Did 911 talk her through it or did she know? Hugs for LED!!
We actually took a class on infant safety that includes cpr and what to do for choking. It came in a package with pur breadtfeeding and labor classes. I thought it would be good information to have.
So glad baby is ok. I'm sure LED is on hyperalert now.

Our mother's helper/babysitter found a full time job and quit without notice. She was scheduled to work 23 hours this week. So this week should be exciting.

I am exhausted. I had to go back to work early (3.5 weeks post c-section) because we fell on some unexpected hard times. So DH worked from 5:30am-5:30pm, came home and we had about an hour together before I had to go to work. Fortunately I don't work nearly as long of hours as he does lol. But I'm exhausted nonetheless.

Well, that's not very nice of her. I hope it works out somehow, Boca.

I forget if your H is working or a student but can you look into if his work/school provides an emergency care option? Both mine and Hs work have low cost emergency care services available.
I'm here, I'm here! This weekend started off eventfully with a trip to the hospital for little miss R (LED's DD). She stopped breathing for a hot second yesterday and turned blue.
But all is good! We spent the night for observation and should go home today.
Can I make a request? In the future can we add trigger warnings for scary baby health situations? I'm now sitting here picturing my babies turning blue :-(
We took everyone on a hike this morning. Baby gets an A, the dogs get B's, but the 3 year old was a solid C-. It was still nice to get a work out in and see the start of the fall colors. We also happened upon a campfire that wasn't fully put out and was reigniting. DH was able to put it out correctly and do our good deed for the day.

Yes, of course. I'm sorry, I should have done that in the first place. :(
I feel like if we are going to have to add triggers for anything beyond a death, I'm gonna need a list of what conditions/issues are trigger-worthy.
There have been several moms here dealing with health issues with their littles and I would hate for anyone to feel like they can't come here and freely share/vent/have a shoulder to lean on without censoring themselves.
That's why I hate the whole trigger thing. I don't intend to minimize anyone's struggles. We all struggle with something. Hell I'm a loss mom, spent years and mucho $$$ trying to get pregnant, and am currently single-parenting while navigating divorce. It truly sucks and a lot of what is posted here hits me in the feels, but I mean..it's the internet. I never expected it to be a safe place.
I just think the "let's add a trigger" thing is a slippery slope. Its so much gray area.
But I'm one person and I don't make the rules here. I just wanted to share my thoughts.
I felt like my post could have used a trigger for two reasons:
1) I don't have a kid, so I'm not surprised if someone got taken off guard by the anecdote.
2) It's potentially fear-mongering. Things like health issues aren't necessarily going to happen to your kid, especially out of nowhere.
Mostly the second one. I'm sorry if I made anyone scared or uneasy with my post. It truly wasn't my intention.

I have been so incredibly sick the past few days. I finally caved and did a virtual doctor visit. With insurance it was only $4 to "see" the doctor almost immediately from my iPhone.
Anyway, she said she couldn't prescribe me anything but told me I could take some stronger OTC meds. Sent H out promptly to get them and am finally not coughing. Hopefully a good night sleep will keep the cough at bay and I won't need to keep taking drugs. I don't like doing so when BF but I'm truly that sick:(
Also, for those that haven't tried it, the virtual visit was awesome! I may never go back to the doctor for something simple again. I'm just thinking about all of those times I've taken my kids to urgent care on a work night to get pink eye drops or ear infection meds so they'd be on meds sooner and miss less daycare/me less work. I wish I had tried virtual visits sooner! So much easier.

@suesposa I see your point. I certainly don't want to make anyone feel like they can't talk about their situation without censoring themselves.
I personally find sudden/unexpected health issues or accidents triggering. The idea that everything can be ok one minute and then in a split second change to disastrous... that scares the living daylights out of me. But I realize that everyone has their own personal triggers and we can't just avoid every subject... so I understand if people don't want to put warnings and I will be ok.

So...I'm not going to do a trigger warning because that issue was my life until R went for open heart surgery. Everytime he cried, I got to him within a few seconds so he wouldn't turn blue.
Obviously, his situation is much different, but I do think it's important for people to know what to do. I did some googling and the tips for babies with heart conditions may not be the same as heart healthy so I don't want to give out wrong information, but HH babies can also get so worked up too (much rarer though).
Also, I'm having a hard time with H...he is so grumpy helping with R at night and he has said several times that he wants us to let R cry it out. 1) R is crying because he is in pain, gassy, hungry, or really does need comfort from surgery and 2) he's far too young for CIO. It bothers me so much.

Rama I know I'm not the most active poster here but I just want to say I don't think you should feel bad for your post. Different people take in things differently and for me personally, it was a reminder to make sure I know how to do infant cpr, so thank you for that. So very glad LEDs baby is doing well.
shanny, I'm sorry your H isn't showing sympathy for little R. I'm always surprised how differently moms and dads react to babies (at least in my house!)

I have a diapering question: little guy has frequent poop explosions, with poop going out the legs (not up the back, only leaking from the sides). Does that mean the diaper is too big or small? He weighs 8lbs7oz and we've been using NB diapers.

I found with DD that if there was diaper leakage with a normal amount of urine/poop then it meant going up in size. I also found that I had to switch sizes before we reached the pound size on the box.
