When DD was much younger she used to sleep till 8 or 8:30 every morning. I had no idea how good I had it. DS has never slept as late as she did, and now for a few months DD has been waking up progressively earlier too. They are almost always both awake between 6:30 and 6:45. I used to take morning showers but haven't been able to for a long time because I'd have to wake up at like 5:45 and DH would be in the bathroom trying to get ready for work at that time anyway.
This morning it's cloudy and raining, I thought for sure they'd sleep a little later, but nope I am having difficulty dealing with DD and the 3-year-old attitude and constant talking starting early in the morning all the way till bedtime since she doesn't nap anymore. How early are your kids up (if they have to wake up early for day care during the week, how late do they sleep on weekends)?

Mine used to sleep until 8 as well. Now they both get up between 6:30 and 7, it's awful since I'm the exact opposite of a morning person. I really hope they start sleeping until at least 7:30 again, that would be amazing.

Somewhere between "God is still asleep" and "The rooster is starting to stir."
Seriously, though. If all of them make it to 6:15 it is something close to a miracle. They have Gro Clocks (we've talked about them here several times, right?) that are set to go off at 6:15, and DD2's new favorite thing is to call us in at 5:45 or come in to our room to tell us that her sun is not up yet. Thanks, DD2.
About once in a blue moon DD2 will sleep in until 7am. DD3 prefers to get up closer to 5 (we still leave her in her crib until 6 because no.)
On the weekends everyone wakes up between 730-8, though my daughter who is 12 has been known to sleep in till almost 10! On the week days I get my daughter up at 6 for school, and sometimes the other kids will wake up to the noise of us moving around and get up earlier, but mainly they wake up between 7-730.
We have gotten so lucky with our little guy - he has been quiet in his crib until 8 or 8:30 unless we go in earlier. During the week we usually let him go till 7:45 but on the weekend we wait to hear him call us.
Now DS1 is a different story. He wakes us between 6:45 and 7:30 (it's usually closer to 6:45 than 7:30). I give him my phone and tell him to watch a show and try to keep him quiet until at least 7:30 on weekends or until I'm done showering on a weekday.
We are lucky with our work schedules and ability to work at home where we don't have to get them up early.

O.O What is with all of these kids sleeping so late?? What time do they go to bed? Ours go to bed at 7pm. I have to admit, I'm more of a morning person, and we have to be out the door at 7:30am, so it's a schedule that works for us, but it would be *really* nice if they would sleep in on the weekend.

If we are lucky they sleep to 6:30, but some days they want to get up at 5:30. Ugh. This weekend we tried to make them play in their room and said they could come and get us at 7 (when they woke up at 5:45). This went actually quite well with them, but our dog told us we were terrible parents and went back and forth between whining next to us by the bed and whining outside the kids' bedroom door.

Sleeping is weird around here. During the summer, it was a short nap for the little one and no nap for Feb child, so bedtime was 7 or 7:30 (although later if we did something like swim) and wake-up was around 7:30. Now both go to preschool, so LO is having a longer nap and Feb child has resumed napping, although she hadn't napped for about a year. She usually only sleeps for an hour. Then both go to bed around 8 or 8:30 now and still wake up around 7:30. Sometimes if Feb child naps longer, she can't fall asleep, so then she goes to sleep late and we have to wake her up for preschool, so she gets to sleep until around 8:15. This morning she woke up and said "mom, I didn't get any sleep" and that is possible because I heard her talking around 11 PM when I went to bed, and once DH found her up at 3 AM in the living room getting more books... And sometimes the little one is up at 6, but we just hand him the i-pad and let up play for an hour until we're up.

DS wakes up between 7:30am and 8am with a bedtime of 8:30pm-9pm. He's not a morning person and wakes up slowly, so I usually have ~20 mins from when I first hear him stirring over the monitor to when he wants to get up to grab a quick shower.

Nicky doesn't wake up until 9:30, but then he doesn't go to bed until 9:00 at night. On school nights (twice a week) he goes down earlier and I wake him up at 8:00. We're not morning people, so the schedule works for us so far

There are nights that DD is up till around 9 playing in her room but she would never ever sleep till 9:30 in the morning. Still up before 7 no matter when she falls asleep. I would totally keep her up till 9 every night if that would get me a 9:30 wake-up.... sounds heavenly
Our little guy (almost 2) goes to bed by 7:30. He really plays hard when he's awake and crashes hard at night and does a good 12-13 hours.
Our feb 13 kid is supposed to be in bed by 7:45-8 but we are often (like tonight for example) fighting with him to go to sleep until 9 or 9:30. He used to do a good 12-13 hours and then at 3 years all good sleeping went to hell.

Both girls go to bed between 830-9. If DD1 (feb 13) stays in her room all night she will be up around 7. If she comes to my bed she'll sleep till 8-830. If DD2 sleeps in her room all night (usually does) she is up around 730. If she comes to my bed she'll sleep till 8-830 also. If there is preschool that morning I make sure we are all up by 730. Sometimes I have to wake them sometimes not.

On the weekends DS1 usually gets up been 7 and 8. Although the last couple weekends he's surprised me and it's been between 9 and 10. That might be because of the baby waking up at all hours of the night though.

I should add that it was a careful scaffolding process that led us here. We literally started teaching him independence at age 3. By the time he was 4 he knew how to get up and turn on PBS Kids or Sprout and get an approved snack from the cabinet. He is also an unusually independent kid.
Mine both are in bed by 8 (DS sometimes isn't asleep until 9) and both are up between 7-7:30. Sometimes they will sleep in on the weekends. For a while DS was waking up at 6 but we made him stay in his room until 7:15; now he will just sleep or be quiet until then.

Mac has already started to go get a bowl of cereal and turn a show on the ipad if we aren't ready to get up when he is. If only I could teach him to get the baby out of the crib and get him breakfast too, then mornings would be fantastic.

Hehe z can hardly put on his own socks and underwear . I'm impressed.

Too. Damn. Early.
DS gets up between 5:30 and 6:30. Very rarely sleeps past that. DD would sleep later but she usually hears DS and wants to get up too. Lately we have a blanket and pillow next to our bed and if DS come in our room we let him sleep on the floor until we are ready to get up.
All 3 kids (Feb13 and Aug15) go to bed around 9pm and wake between 7:15-7:30am. Sometimes I wish they went to bed earlier so I could have more grown up time at night, but I'm too scared they would wake up earlier if we did that, lol!
Even though they go to bed at 9pm, DS is often awake in his bed, reading or doing whatever until at least 10pm. He's generally quiet, so I just accept that that's how it is.
