Tip toeing back in... I know I wasn't the most active poster during our pregnancies, and I've been lurking the last months because I felt like I took too long of a break posting after giving birth and shouldn't post anymore, but I am just wanting to start joining in again.
I am feeling really isolated and would like a place to talk to some other moms. I am glad to see everyone and their LOs doing well!
WELCOME BACK!!!!!
Don't ever feel like you shouldn't post. What's new ? How are things? Please AW your squish.

Things have been busy and I finally feel like I'm coming up for a little bit of air- I'm sure everyone else here has been super busy too. We also bought a house a month after W was born and it's had so many issues so have been fixing things one after another. Congrats on your house purchase too SheilaTheTank (I'm such a creeper). I've been back to working from home and my husband feels I can do that without help and watch LO myself, so that's been difficult. I'm a realtor so work from home during the day and show houses mostly nights and weekends, so my H can watch LO when he's off work.
W is 6 months old and is a big boy. Will get on the computer to post pic!

So my kid will not stay on his tummy for more than 2 seconds. I put him on his stomach and he's just like NOPE. and rolls over... he's never going to learn to crawl is he? haha. Maybe its a phase? He'll be 6 months on the 30th.
At this point I'd move onto a different skill such as sitting, standing or kneeling. Some babies skip crawling and that perfectly fine.
He's sitting unassisted like a boss! Maybe we'll try kneeling.

There's nothing more we can do for J other than wait it out. I figured as much but I wanted to be sure since he's still wheezing and the weekend is approaching.
He had his opthalmologist appt this afternoon to check for amblyopia. His eyes are just fine. We have to go back in a year to recheck since I had it.
So just YAY! I met our two neighbors down the street. One couple has a 3 yr old and a 6 month old girl, the other couple has 6 yr old twins and a 3 yr old. All so nice and yay mom friends nearby!!! The baby girls were so so cute together!
We've been dealing with daycare crud too. She's been really snotty this week and it was affecting her sleep bit she seems much better today.
Ugh congestion is the worst. My LO has been dealing with it constantly. The pedi just put him on Zantac this week thinking it may be GERD causing the congestion?

That's awesome! I wish we would have moved to a "younger" neighborhood, all our neighbors are 65+
Except for the one couple across the street that has a baby, but we hung out and didn't really click
The first 3 sets of neighbors we met were all retirees so we were starting to get worried, but there are apparently lots of kids hiding around. Our street is only like 1/3 finished and like a little more than 1/2 sold so more neighbors still coming as well.

We had a great night last night. She slept 8-6:30 which is her longest stretch ever. She was back asleep at 7 and slept another hour and a half while I went running. I went to bed at 10:30 so I felt great today. She's been doing a wake up around 11 and then maybe one more, sometimes 2, so we're in a pretty good place right now. She's small so I think she still needs to eat at night. Sleep improved dramatically when we moved to tb crib in mid August.

I got A to drink a whole ounce of breast milk from a straw cup today! This is huge for us! Usually it's complete meltdown with a bottle. Hopefully we can get more practice in before next Tuesday. I'm supposed to go to a concert and I was worried about leaving her.

Yaay! This is great news!
I'm trying the straw too since she keeps stealing her brother's cup and trying to drink from it.

We went to a party last night without K since my parents were in town. The party was only 5 minutes away, so I told my mom if she wouldn't take the bottle to call me. She didn't really take it at bedtime, but went to sleep anyway. But then my mom called at 9:30 because she woke up crying. So we went home and H was able to give her the bottle and I pumped. We need her to take a bottle for the night we have the navy ball in October.... so far she really only takes it for H. Ugh.

I'm stressing about this too. She will take a bottle at daycare but night is a different story. We are going to see the Avett Brothers at the end of October and I'm freaking out about it already.

awkwardturtle, I can't believe I missed the picture! That's it I'm never taking my eyes off the boards again.
halfahippy, how do you teach them to drink from a straw? We tried with K and she just keeps poking herself in the mouth with it and getting frustrated.

I just kept offering at meals and she figured it out. I put the straw in her mouth at first and she would just chew on it, and eventually she accidentally got some water out of it and then practiced until she got it figured out. It took a couple of weeks.
