Looks like I'm pumping enough milk to leave for the day!!!!! Last night, I saw every hour of the night!! They all look the same until about 5am when the sky starts changing colors. I tilted to tell LO that but he still insisted he see it himself! He likes to sing the song of his ppl to me!
I'm off today. Both boys have their well checks this morning and I have my annual Gyno exam this afternoon. I'm so excited to see how much the boys have grown! I'm going to take them to lunch at CFA and let A play for a while afterwards. Then I'll go ahead and drop him off at school so I'm not fighting both kids while at the OB's office. Not so much looking forward to that part lol
I just found a baby scale in our office that is not currently in use. It's coming home with me so I can do a weighed feeding tonight! Bc I want to know how much milk LO is getting from me!
I was able to leave 18oz in bottles for him to take during the time I'm gone from work. Seriously, 3 6oz bottles sounds like plenty....

babycaps sorry for the rough sleep but I cracked up at your post! Good luck the next couple days.
We had a great night! One brief wake up. 4 month sleep regression is real y'all and it does end. Whew! No plans today thank god. We need a chill day! We may go to target but that's it!

DH has the plague apparently. I usually have to force him to stay home when he's sick, but he decided on it on his own, so I know he's feeling really poorly.
I had to do daycare drop off which got me to work just in time to pump. I've been up since 4 am and haven't gotten a thing done.
WWM16D? I'm dehydrated from the stomach virus and not making as much milk as usual. I'm thinking of skipping my late afternoon session to make sure there's enough for A to nurse. In the meantime I'll be sipping drinks all afternoon assuming my stomach can handle it.

I would still pump. You don't want to signal your body that it's making enough. I would pump and if he didn't get enough, top off with 1-2 oz bottle and pump again.

+1 since I'm neurotic.
BUT I don't think that one day's messing with things will cause too much havoc on your milk supply in the grand scheme of things if you're not up for it.

snoris or anyone else, I started Whole30 yesterday and my milk supply is already lacking today. I don't want to rush to attribute it to the Whole30 but is there anything I should do?
Our doctors appointment wasn't too bad. DS is super tall. They loved him because he gave all the smiles.
Doctor is super happy with everything but his weight. He is gaining faster than he was, which is good. But it's still on the low end of normal and he still lost percentiles
I'm going back in a month for a weight check (not required just to make us all happy). Doctor still doesn't feel we need to supplement but he told me if it would make me feel better I certainly could. (Aka "I don't believe it's necessary but if it takes away some stress then you do what you need to do") of course DS refuses the bottle half the time now so I'm doubtful he'd even take it anyway lol

Well, supply is priority 1. I'm not an expert obviously, but not sure one day on a new diet could have that much impact?
I wean into my W30's to avoid the famous sugar withdrawal. Not good for me, probably also not good for baby. To wean in, I do two days with 1/3 meals "W30", then two days 2/3 meals "W30", then I start day 1. Since I graze, I call a "meal" wakeup-noon, noon-5, and 5-bedtime.
If you go on the website there are a few W30 modifications for BF'ing women. Normally potatoes and starchy veggies are to be used sparingly, but no limit for us. Also normally they suggest 3 meals, we should eat to hunger.
Also make sure you're getting enough calories. Lots of healthy fats! It's easy for this to be a low cal diet bc we are not used to seeing that much fat on our plates & it feels wrong.
Finally, with my BF'ing W30 I didn't lose quite as much (8lb instead of 15.. I'll take it), but my supply was my priority and I ate way more food than I did on non-BF'ing W30's.
We have a bee problem outside. Like sooooo many bees. I wanted to call my dads friend who is an exterminator because OMG so many bees.
DH and FIL insisted they can handle it. So they sprayed the bees and started sealing up the areas. Yesterday the garage was full (20 or so) bees. No problem they told me. They're just trying to figure out where the nest went.
Bees in the garage today. Open up the laundry room door 5 bees in the laundry room. Nope nope nope.
teraiin that's great your doc is being level headed about everything. I've had more than a few docs blow things out of proportion. Sounds like yours will be supportive no matter what you decide! 👍🏿
So I had my lunch meeting with my potential DC coworker. The meeting went great! Except my card was declined and she had to buy 😳 How embarrassing!!!

I don't Whole30, but I do Slow Carb (well, I was anyways.. my will power is on the fritz. Need to get it prepared.)
I would give it a few days before deciding it's the main contributor..
Look at your hydration first. For some reason, whenever I start, I seem to drink less, when I should be drinking more. Plus the foods that you eat on pretty much any diet are going to have more bulk and you'll need more water to process them, so even if you're drinking the same amount as previously, it's probably still not enough anymore. Once I get my water leveled out, my milk supply is usually fine (sometimes a tad better).

fishbulb I agree, I think you should pump as usual. If he seems hungry after nursing, give a bottle to top off but I would pump as well, while you do that.
DS eats so much. I worked a 24h shift last week and pumped over 50oz. He eats 40-45 per 24h. Which is way more than "they" say is normal haha. But he is doing great and does apparently eat that much from the breast sooooo we're going to KOKO.
Medical people, how is it legal for you to work 12+ hour shifts? And redt just worked 24?! I mean, that's not healthy for you right? And even the very best wouldn't perform their best at the end of a shift like that? I've never understood. Is there a good reason for it? Or is it out of necessity? A labor of love? And under appreciated I presume. God bless you all. Goodness sake.

I think at our hospital they have "on call" rooms with a bed and stuff so that on down time they can sleep/rest at least they did in the maternity wing at our hospital. Maybe that's how it works?
