snoris it's ridiculous. And it's amazing because no other country in the world, including the Western European countries with better health care than the US, makes doctors work shifts like that. A lot of it is just due to traditions being hard to change, and a mindset that "medicine is not shift work" here when it is seen as shift work (like nursing) everywhere else in the world. Obviously I have a lot of opinions about the stupidity of the American system. I'll shut up for now. 🤐
I haven't been able to put DS down for hours. Poor boy. He screams when I set him down. I tried the moby but that's a no go right now also. Shots make him so clingy.
DH is still down for the count. I'm debating sleeping on the crappy fouton in the office and moving the cosleeper, the couch in the living room and putting DS in the bassinet that he's too big for, or changing the sheets and making DH take the fouton or the couch.
All three options involve far too much work, but I don't want his germs any more than I've already got them.
How much is too much sleep after getting shots? Ridley has been asleep for a little more than 4 hours now. She started to stir a little and I fed her (I was already in bed with her) because she missed her feed before her shots due to the timing of the appointment. So she had gone quite a while without eating. But she didn't really wake up. I figured she'd wake up after that, but it's been another hour and she's still sleeping! At what point should I wake her up? I have a call in to the pediatrician but I'm waiting for a call back.
I hope it doesn't last too long @led and teraiin. My H will have to take lo to his 4 mth appointment next week. I hope he doesn't get as fussy as he did last time but I think that's wishful thinking.
Cam did pretty well this afternoon but usually my kids have always been a 2nd day mess. Day of is usually ok. I'm glad he was ok because we spent an hour and a half in the OB office this afternoon. I forgot this was Pap smear year. Whoo.

Remember when I posted about the broken AC? Yeah... Bedrooms are pretty warm. Cam woke up screaming bloody murder about half hour after going to sleep. He feels really warm. I can't decide if it's heat or temp from shots today. I think I'll give him Tylenol if he still feels warm next time he wakes. Poor guy.

No sleep training yet. The worst of it didn't seem to last too long (but honest DS never seemed to get as long of stretches as some LO's got anyway)... But he has trouble going back down when he wakes up at 4 or 5.
I think babycaps might have been starting some gentle sleep training?

On hold due to weight issues. But will likely train the split second he hits 5mo As long As he is gaining. Last night sucked so much.

I started some sleep training a few nights ago because 3 weeks into the sleep regression things hasn't improved. Finally last night was a little better. I'm hoping it wasn't a fluke. I've been letting her cry up to 10-15 mins before I go back in. Last night we were only up 3 times compared to 5+ times the last few weeks. I didn't want to start sleep training this early but something had to give. Especially since LO won't take a bottle and can't soothe without the boob. Which means I have been up every night 3-5x for 3 weeks and I just can't do it any more. I feel your pain and I hope it passes quickly!
I worked most of the day and hubby was home with the kids since he was off work. LO refused the bottle. She occasionally would suck for about 30 seconds and then refuse the bottle. Anyone else have this problem? The only place she will take a bottle is daycare (thankfully)! I even had hubby wear a shirt with my scent on it when he tried to feed her today. He's tried a variety of types of bottles too. Anyone have any tricks that might work?

No tips but you have my sympathy. DS never had an issue taking a bottle until recently. Now he rejects them at least half of the time.

I'm not sure what the deal is either. She used to take them no problem until probably about a month or 2 ago and now she refuses except at daycare

Ours lasted 3.5-4.5 months. We did sleep train. It's awesome now! Hang in there!

We hit sleep regression hard too but he's also has two ruptured ear drums in there so that hasn't helped at all. He goes down from 730-7 but still wakes up every 3 hrs too nurse, then goes right back to sleep.... it's not horrible
Ridley finally found herself in a mirror and is talking away! Apparently we just never gave her enough time or the right size mirror. Blake's been holding her new car mirror thing in front of her for like 5 minutes and all of a sudden it was like she finally saw herself. Super cute.

Thinking of o2girl. Haven't seen ya in awhile? How are you?
awww thanks lady! I know I've been MIA, W has been super needy for the past 4 or 5 weeks. The leap she is ending, was very stormy. She developed so much during the leap, but with that growth, she became very demanding and clingy.
Thanks for paging me and checking in with me! I will try my best to come around more! Also, I hope all of you ladies and your littles are doing well!
