We had a crappy night. Now that E is sleeping I've got C on our porch "painting" with water. I hope it entertains her for hours so I can just sit. HA! She's singing "I gotta pickle, I gotta pickle, hey, hey, hey!" Lol at least she's entertaining.
Bleh. Slept badly, sick, and have a toddler who is conveniently over being sick and full of energy. Luckily DH said he would come back home after checking in at office but he is getting sick too so not sure how much he is going to be helpful.

Sooo tired. R just didn't seem to want to sleep last night. I was going to nap with him on my chest for a bit, but then he peed out his diaper on me so I had to get up. Still trying to figure out how to nap during the day when he sleeps. I've never been good at falling asleep during the day.

I was awful at this with DD. I have never been a good napper. Instead DH bought me an espresso machine. Hope you can get some rest!

This is my biggest struggle with the newborn stage. I got maybe an hour of sleep last night but I know sleep today isn't going to happen regardless of how hard I try.
I found I was only able to nap during the day when my DD was asleep if someone else was home to be with her. For some reason it was the only way I could relax my mind enough. Good luck LadyNymeria hope you get some rest!

I had a dream/nightmare last night that I got pregnant again. With a newborn. I don't care what my Dr says at 6 weeks, we are never having sex again! But seriously.. I know we have lots of time to think about this and it could change, but I'm currently feeling very done with 2 kids.. We've always just done condoms as birth control because we were ok with anything that happened but this time I'm thinking I need other options for BC until we do decide on another kid or something more permanent. I've never heard great things about the mini pill. What BC have others used in between/ before kids - especially while breastfeeding? I'll talk with my OB in a couple weeks obviously for more details.
jennybeans I had the Mirena IUD between DD and this pregnancy. Many people love them, but I wasn't sure if it led to my absolute lack of sex drive or if that was related to nursing plus being a new parent. It came back when it was removed though. I did like not having to think about it. But taking it out again it kind of got stuck, and the nurse practitioner had to bring the doctor in to help. She had to hold my hand and it hurt like hell.
I don't really want another one, but I dont love any of the other options either. And I don't want to scare you bec1ause some ppl love them.
We're in the same boat, probaby done at 2 kids but I'm not ready to make a permanent decision yet.

I'm at work, physically I'm so uncomfortable and just feeling ready to be done, but I decided to try to just let go of my expectations for when this little guy will arrive. I'm trying to keep my eyes on the prize, if I go all the way to my EDD, my maternity leave will make it through Christmas which would be wonderful. And if baby comes before the 30th, well that's great too My DD has school pictures on Friday and DH has a half-day volunteer project with his work on Saturday, so if baby does come early I'm sure those 2 days are when it will happen, haha.

jennybeans - We used NFP + pulling-out for 3 years before getting pregnant so that's what we'll go back to. Definitely not the best option for everyone, but I don't like most other BC options and tracking my cycle worked well for us. Obviously we'll have to be extra careful since postpartum plus breastfeeding will most likely make things more unpredictable for a while.
jennybeans I had no problem breastfeeding on the regular pill (loestrin) but I hate having to remember to take it. I'm thinking IUD now, but we'll probably still use condoms too because I hate the mess. We're 99.9% sure that we don't want a third baby, especially since I'd be 39 or older by then. I don't want a tubal ligation (just in case) and I already promised my husband he didn't have to get snipped. He had a double hernia operation a few years ago and that recovery was really tough on him, so no more surgery down there if we can help it.

jennybeans we used the mini pill between DD and DS because I knew that we were going to have them pretty close together. I had ZERO sex drive. I think it's more related to nursing, though. This time I'm getting the Mirena. It's my midwife's favorite option and we don't know if we're done or not.
STMs who had their water break spontaneously TTMA that. I had a dribble last night but I'm pretty sure it was just pee.
ETA: FTMs who had their water break spontaneously, feel free to contribute. Pregnancy brain forgot most of the people here have outside babies.
So my water broke on me this time. The first bit felt like just a heavy gush of discharge, however it soaked through to my shorts. Over the hour I was continuing to have small gushes that soaked through clothes/washcloths. It was particularly leaky when I was standing or walking.
It was such a mind game. I doubted it was my water for hours. I hope yours breaks on you soon!

That's one of the things I'm worried about with any hormonal BC.. my sex drive was zero during pregnancy and I can tell already that it's coming back (but way too tired to do anything about it for a while..). Eventually I'd like to have a normal sex life again!
I haven't had sex drive issues on the pill, I think initially I was just having trouble from the scar tissue from my tear from my first pregnancy and breastfeeding screwed up my hormones. But i managed to get pregnant while still breastfeeding, so it definitely improved. Some people are more susceptible to hormones than others.

Talk to your doctor and do independent research about BC and breastfeeding if your doing it. They put me on nuvaring at like 7 weeks and mu supply tanked after I was on it for about two weeks and it took me forever to figure out it was the cause. Once I took it out I bounced back pretty quickly but I wasn't producing as much as I was to being with. Which for me wasn't a huge problem cuz I still produce a lot. But it's something to consider and watch out for.
Is everyones baby sleeping all day too? I forget if DS slept this much!
I was concerned when E was younger. I asked his pedi if they can sleep too much and he said that as long as they're gaining weight, don't worry... and enjoy it!! I'll reassure you... he's awake more now that he's older (3 weeks).
Can I AW? My big boy finally asked to hold his brother!! I could die of happiness! It's been such a rough week for him and I think he's finally coming around.
