Anyone else going back to work soon? I go back a week from today, the little guy will be 7 weeks 2 days. I'm having a really hard time with it, cried all morning yesterday because I knew I only have one week left. I so wish I could take longer but DH and I really want to buy a house soon and the amount of time I have taken has cost us about $6000. He just seems so, so little to leave.
How are you coping with going back to work? Is your LO on some sort of schedule already?
I went back to work on Monday (after not being in the office since early September) and cried three times before we even left the house. My mom is living with us and taking care of DD until a spot in daycare opens up so I know she's in excellent hands. Being away from my squish for 11 hours is so rough, but mom texts me updates and pictures that help keep me sane. Each day is a little bit easier.
DD isn't on a schedule and I don't see us having one until she's older. We'll do a bedtime routine when she gets closer to sleeping through the night.

I go back the first of March after being gone since Christmas Eve the flu gave me a week early on leave. And I'm so heartbroken already how am I going to live without baby snuggles all day. And I'm really struggling with how I'm going to find time to pump when I have customers.

I'm a nurse and work 3 12's a week for "full time", currently on midnights. I went back Sunday night and have had 2 shifts so far. It was nice to be back with my co-workers, as I've missed adult interaction other than H. I missed LO for sure, but knew she was home with H, so I wasn't too worried. I have realized though that being on nights isn't going to work out. I'm sleeping while LO is mainly up and I feel guilty not being there. Luckily there's a part time days position open on my unit, so if my manager will let me take it, I'm going to. I'll make less, but time with my LO is worth more than any amount of money.

I work from home, and actually went back to work part time the week after LO was born. I currently work just four hours a day, mostly computer stuff. I do have to make and receive some phone calls, but I do those when LO is napping. I will go back to full-time in about 4 weeks. The plan was to keep LO at home with me, but we will have to see how that goes when he gets a little older. I may end up hiring someone part time to come watch/entertain him... just depends on his disposition.

I have this week and next left. Baby will be 12 weeks. I've been losing sleep over leaving him in daycare all the options have 1 drawback or another. I feel better now that I've decided to try each one if needed until I find the best that works for us.
Baby doesnt have a schedule at the moment. At. All. He feeds and sleeps at all times during the day. Nights are better. That's 1 thing that worried me about a real daycare is if they'd start him on a schedule and how he'd react. We're starting with a family member taking care of lo.
I have to go back March 2nd after 8 weeks of leave. She already has a pretty good schedule that she set mostly on her own and is just 5w3d old. I was super excited to go back a week ago when I was going stir crazy but things are better now so I am not looking forward to it nearly as much. My workplace is flexible so if i have a breakdown I can leave and go check on her at daycare. I am not cut out to be home all the time and that makes things easier.
I go back the third weekend in March. I am a nurse and accepted a weekend position. Ill work Sat & Sun 7a to 7p, LO will be home with DH. I'll be home with LO Mon-Fri.
elleswarth nights are tough to begin with....I could not function even on days I wasn't working. I give you major props! Good luck getting the day position, it's so much nicer feeling like a human when you work days.
@nursesouder - it will be so much better. I worked days my first year and a half, but it was only part time, and once we got pregnant, I needed full time for the better insurance and so I was forced to nights. My manager gets back from Costa Rica tomorrow, so hopefully she'll still be in a good mood and will let me have it! (And soon!)
