portuguesemama Big boy! GL with EI. We had them check out M at 6 months. Super nice people who answered all the questions. A fiend of mine had the same issue with her son (lack of words). Her son now talks non-stop. Like, literally, does not shut up. LOL. It really does help!

malvo - I keep thinking that I'll get rocking toned arms from lifting him constantly, but nope. Haha. His cousin was only like 2" taller than him but 37 lbs this past weekend - he's 2.5. I'm thinking N is going to be longer and leaner than his cousin at this point. And yes, I'm sure this kid is going to be non-stop because he babbles non-stop, just no real words

portuguesemama, We are still pretty non-verbal. She has mama dialed in, and she also mimics ready, set, go. And she can say night-night. But thats about it. We have not had her 18 month appointment yet-we pushed it back a week so we can take her and M for his 4 month appointment at the same time. I think they go in 2 weeks?
We are on the fence about Early Intervention. When I asked at our last appointment, the ped was not overly worried because she makes plenty of noises and she understands when we speak to her. I talked to the school speech pathologist here and she said that the research on EI versus regular development does not show that EI would make that much difference. She said H could bring in Jo right after school one day and she would do an informal evaluation. I don't know.

Hey guys, not much going on for me today. Last night we had a friend over for a playdate. We hadnt seen them in a few months so it took P awhile to warm up, also first time we had another kid in the house that wasnt his cousin. He was very skeptical at first. They played, watched tv, and had their own mini chicken nugget bar in the family room. Pretty sure ill be finding bits of chicken nuggets around the house for a few weeks, haha. Damnit, wheres the dog when I need her? (Shes at my dads house for funsies) Then after they left and P went to bed I had another friend over for some beers, hadnt seen her either in a few months. It was so great to catch up, and some how im not a zombie today. Ill take it!
malvo any chance those people will go away? I agree that the CEO should back you up. Does he know this is going on? Either way, sorry you've got to deal with it. Fx it gets better so you don't have to find something else?
sjep922 I don't think they'll be laid off or anything. Their direction is just changing (they run our print publication and, well, print is dead as a door knob). They are trying to find their footing. I'm sure it's stressful going through such a huge change, but being catty and trying to change my department, which is fine as-is, is not going to fly. CEO is currently at a conference, so there's not much that can be done at the moment.
malvo, I'm jealous of your easy teething baby. It's the end of the world for weeks if A cuts a tooth! I put A to bed without nursing. I'm not sure how I feel about that. I keep saying I'm weaning at 18 months but now that we are 4 days away I'm not ready. I really want her to sttn more than anything!! I'd nurse for another 6 months if I didnt have to get up 2-3 times a night!

babys2015 yay! Glad to hear about the good ultrasound! sjep922 yep, it started last wednesday, almost a month earlier than usual. I didnt end up watching the second episode tonight, got carried away with greys anatomy, haha. But im not sure what its about, the theme still hasnt been revealed. I just tried to look it up and so far all theyve said is "whatever you think it is, youre wrong. This season is a hat in a hat in a hat." And there will be more plot twists than theyve ever done before. So we'll see. Let me know if you start watching it!

graciest719 - Jo has more than N. He literally doesn't say anything that even sounds like a word. I mean he says syllables all day long but nothing put together to even try to be a word. I called EI already, left a message, and no one called back. I'm going to try again tomorrow. I think my mommy guilt is driving me.
ruemorgan - Sounds like a fun night! How is your ankle?? And wait - are you catching up on Greys or is my DVR missing that too. I didn't realize until this week that I had no Teen Mom. My DVR doesn't understand my priorities!
ajacot924 - He needs to not live in a land of what ifs. He needs to enjoy the now, especially for your birthday weekend! I saw the pics you posted! It looks amazing!!
malvo - Haha about the teething. N is right there too except the drooling. No fevers or fussy or waking. I probably should knock on everything wood in my house now... And woohoo to day one! I always count down the hours until bedtime when I'm solo for a few days at a time. I love my kid, and I really enjoy hanging out with him, but I just need 30 seconds to not be needed. Haha.
ruemorgan what is AHS? malvo I am sorry. I have been there and it totally sucks. I tell myself "they don't matter and as long as I do my job I shouldn't care about their opinion" but I, too, put worth in other people's opinions. I wish I had some great advice, but I don't. Just here to say I've been there. Also, I am sure your SO being out of town does not help you feel better! bekbek I don't even know how to wean! 18 months and going strong but I wish she'd stop waking in the motn. I think we've hit a growth spurt?
