joy I'm the opposite! I liked a "mandatory" break . Although we did shorten it to 4 weeks.
+1 for being grateful for the mandatory break!
Just left my 6 week checkup, and I'm cleared for takeoff. Ugh. I'm straight up SCARED to have sex again, even though I do really want to on a mental/emotional level. FTM here, so I guess I just don't know what to expect. Also... I've attempted to fool around with my DH twice since the baby has been born and we were interrupted approximately 60 seconds in both times, so I have no clue when we'll get the chance to attempt the whole deal!

A stiff drink and LOTS of lube
We're going to be away for DH's sister's weeding next weekend, so since I'm planning on boozing it up a little (giving DS pumped milk, and pumping before the drinking happens, and all that nonsense), I think it could be a good opportunity to try 😬
I fell asleep before 9 last night. I was exhausted. Not really sure why, I guess it's all just catching up to me.
this is not normal for you? Since he's been born I put him to bed at 8:30 and IMMEDIATELY go to bed myself so I can cash in on his longest stretch. Lol Eta- it sucks because there is no Alone time for me and H but that's just how it has to be so I can sleep.

I was like spicysalmonroll when I had only one, but now that I have three and two of them can talk to me in intelligible words (which is great, don't get me wrong, way better than crying and cooing only) when everyone is finally in bed for the night I am all "Peace. Quiet. Time to chill." Then it is 10:30 and I know I am going to hate life tomorrow.
Good thing I can often get all 3 kids to nap at the same time and the big kids are with the nanny two days a week . It enables my late night bad habits.
bocaburger 6 weeks is known for often bringing a growth spurt AND the peak of fussiness, yay! We are going through both. I was given the all clear to breastfeed again right in time, haha. R was wanting to nurse every single hour a couple nights ago...now he's at once every two hours around the clock. Still, that probably isn't as tiring as twins on growth spurts!
R had only pooed a small one yesterday so I gave him a glycerin suppository...man, I have never seen so much poop shoot out of a baby. He filled two diapers. He was probably so uncomfortable. Right now, he is pretty much a regular newborn, except for having to be careful about his chest, some extra pain, and gassiness. So tiring with toddler and newborn. Because I'm nervous he will wake up DD, he and I sleep in my bedroom and H sleeps in R's bedroom next to DD (I don't trust him in bed with R).

Nope, I usually dream feed her at 10 and tyen go to sleep. But also I rarely, like, sit down before 9 p.m. so

So. Much. Talking.
Their new thing is to say, "Guess what _____ said?" And recount a random line from a show. Over and over. They even do it WHILE watching a show. As if I can not hear the tv myself. Bless their sweet, adorable, noisy hearts.
Oh i have a sex question.. can it still hurt after a CS. I have not had my 6 week appointment so I still not cleared. And wont be until about 10 weeks. So i am curious and it may be better to be prepared.
Yes. We tried once and it hurt too much so we stopped. It felt very tight so I think it had to do with how long it had been.

Well I am late to the party but I got the Kick and Play and the little guy LOVES it. He seems to be engaging with it more than any other toys we've tried. Woohoo!!
Is it bad that I secretly hoped my doctor wouldn't clear me at 6 weeks? I had a 2nd degree tear and 13 weeks out, it still hurts, although it hurts much less.
Tears are the worst. Honestly mine still bothers me and it has been over 3 years!
Noooooo I have a third degree tear and it's been 8 weeks and some things still hurt. I really want to have sex, but I am afraid. I know I'm going to tense up and make it worse because I'm nervous about the tear.
In other news, hi! We had 2 month shots yesterday, a week early since DD started daycare this week. She screamed and turned bright red during them, passed out on the ride home and slept 4 hours, and then woke up every hour all night. Her daycare teacher said she was surprised DD slept most of the day today.
hummingbird125 wtf to your friend. I hate when people play pain Olympics like that. You're allowed to have a rough day same as her. And does DS take a pacifier? Might help extend time between feedings.

A minute ago, I had DD2 sitting on my lap. She flailed her arm and punched herself in the face, then threw her head back all dramatically and made this face like 'where the hell did that come from?' It was hilarious.
hannahbear haha, the little melodies will get stuck in your head, but they thankfully aren't too annoying.
I swear I hear those songs in my sleep, in the shower, in the car.... H and I have been making up words to them like "doot Doo Doo Eli cute!" Haha
Oh my gosh, I thought I wrote this for a second! Even before the kick piano arrived, we've been singing songs like that (and our guy is Eli too!!!). DH is currently rocking E and singing a song that goes "heyyyyyyy little Eli doo doo doo."

Baby is 1 month today! Trying to convince her to sleep. I'm sure it won't work because apparently no babies fall asleep before 11 PM. So now I am left deciding if I want to open another beer or the pint of talenti.

This is what makes me worried. Its been a very, very long time for us. Pelvic rest the whole pregnancy long. But with the 2 I have no idea how to find the time. At least one is pretty much always sleeping with us. I guess it will happen when it happens

I've been listening to The Longest Shortest Time podcast and they have a series on sex after babies - it's been really interesting and also helpful for me

venyia we're the same way with sex. We had that initial honeymoon sex haze thing at the beginning of our relationship and then realized we have very different drives (spoiler alert - mine is much higher than his.) it took a long time to work out a situation where we both felt like we were getting our needs met, but I feel like we definitely don't have sex as much as other couples do. That being said, H keeps asking me when my six week appt is (week from yesterday) and I'm hoping this time around is like last time - it was really easy to get back into it.

Late to this, but I think doing both would have been acceptable
