Not about children, but I'm wondering how you all add pictures to posts. I take a picture with my phone, and use "add attachment" on the actual website. Since my phone pictures are so big, I have to crop it down to nothing before it posts. My pictures are so much smaller than everyone else's, and the cropping makes it take so long to post pictures. I'm looking for faster and bigger. Suggestions?

I use the tapatalk app just for uploading the pics.

Talk to me about pacifiers. I rotate between feeling like I really need to start weening her off stat! and feeling like it makes her happy and makes sleeping easier, so what's the harm... She will happily use one any time... But I've managed to cut back to just nap and bed time. I just don't know where to go from here... Cold turkey? Not worry about it yet? Those with older kids... Did they give it up on their own?

bookninja I'm honestly not really worried about weaning off the paci at this point. We try just to give it to her for naps and bed time, sometimes we'll give it to her in the car if we want her to nap then. I'm kinda hoping she just naturally gives it up, but if not I think we'll try to go cold turkey around the 2yo mark. We use Wubbanubs so I'll probably cut off the pacis and still hand her the stuffed animals to cuddle and keep one on stand by just in case.

We've been making an effort to use it less for daytime, and using it mostly for naps and night. I've been thinking well try cold turkey around Christmas, so if we crash and burn, we can wait a few months and try again, plus if his night sleep goes to shit at least H and I both have some time off around that time.

BH refused the pacifier as soon as he discovered it made him sleepy. But with LBB, by 18 months he was down to just naps and bedtime. I wanted him off before he started preschool at 2, but I didn't want to compromise his naps at school/disrupt the other kids' naps.
I told his DCP we were working on it over the weekends, and my concern with the other kids and she took it from there. At nap time she pointed out he was a big boy, and big boys don't use pacifiers. By day 3, he was informing me at bedtime that he didn't want his pacifier because he was a big boy.
Moral of the story: daycare is magical/ don't be afraid to rely on whatever resources you have available to you.
Don't worry about paci use. I think it might even be until three years old that you have to wean them off.
So one of DH's cousins is an orthodontists and told us that as long as DD is weaned off it by the time she is 3 her teeth wont really be affected by it. We are down to Nap time, Bed time and Car rides. otherwise she doesnt have it.
What do you guys do for snotty noses now? There is no way I can get a nosefrida anywhere near Jules.
We just keep a pack of boogie wipes glued to our hands. They don't make her nose red/raw and she doesn't hate the grape scented ones. It sucks, but it's better than nothing!

That's what I've been doing, well with regular wipes, I really need to get boogie wipes.

I usually just buy the 3 pack from target and keep 1 in the diaper bag, 1 in the living room, and 1 in her room. That way I always have one when I need it;)
We've never done vitamin d drops since he was always on formula. When we cut formula back in July, we were outside so much. Now with cooler weather and being more bundled up at times, should I start vitamin d drops for him? His milk is added with vit d but not sure if it's quite enough. No dr appt until January and I forgot to ask at his one year!
I think with DS we started giving vit d at 2 years. Though it may be because I forgot to question after taking him off formula. The vitamins we buy for him shows the dosage starting at 2 which is the only reason I haven't started sharing them with DD too.
We don't get any vitamin D from the sun in the winter because we're too far north. She'll have a dr appointment at the start of Dec so I'll try to remember to ask again!

My doctor said they don't get enough vitamin D from milk or the sun (even in the summer) so they should all be on Vitamin D drops.
Anybody else's kid eating like a teenager lately? W wakes up early and starving lately. This morning he ate a bowl of oatmeal (full pack of instant), half a pint of raspberries, and an egg with cheese. For lunch, he's finishing up an adult sized portion of veggie & turkey lasagna. It's blowing my mind. We have his 15 mo appt today so I plan to ask about it but wanted to see if anybody else is seeing a growth spurt or anything.
Last week my child was eating us out of house and home. This week his appetite is slightly less voracious. I've definitely noticed a general ebb and flow with his eating, which I've always just figured coincides with growing.

Lol. J actually runs away if I grab a tissue. She does like to pretend to blow her nose with a tissue, but only if she gets the tissue and I'm no near enough to actually wipe her nose.

We're still on Vitamin D drops. They are easy. We're also still using the Nose Frida a couple times a day. That's not easy. Ditto erbear with the screaming (at least we don't have neighbors), we hold him down and it's over quick. I only use the boogie wipes if he wakes up with dried snot everywhere. Otherwise it's a good soft 2-ply 😉 toilet paper to wipe with. Much cheaper than tissues.
Anyone else's LOs crib mattress infant in one side, toddler on the other? Is there a general guideline for when I should/could flip him from the firm infant to the softer toddler?

Yes - I asked the pediatrician at our 15mo appt because I'm a worrier and he said it's fine to flip it now as long as I keep him in a crib. Yeah...definitely not ready for the actual toddler bed.
Anyone else's kid start hitting yet?? My kid has a lot all day today and I'm having to take a drive while H watches him because I'm so fed up with it.
All the time. First I say "gentle hands" and model on him or myself. This is in a gentle reminder voice. Then if he keeps doing it, I grab both hands and say "I won't let you hit mommy" in a more firm voice. He does not like having his hands held, so once or twice usually does it, at most.

Okay this is really extra SS but I can't help it. Im mostly just curious and maybe a tad anxious but anyway.. Anyone else still have a bald baby? I know we had a few around here but Im pretty sure I saw baby @scoop with piggies lol and carolyngrace was in the bald baby club I believe. So yea, J has a little tuft in the back that's growing and filling out a little finally, but she still has basically no hair at all on top.
I know one day I'm gonna wake up and she'll have more hair than I know what to do with. I'm just wondering if I'm alone.

Yes when he gets upset that I'm holding him to prevent him from doing something. I tell him no the first time, then I'll hold his arms by his sides if he does it again. He doesn't like it so he'll normally not hit again.

periwinkledaydreams A still doesn't have a lot of hair, but he's not bald. I don't have to brush it or cut it. I've been wondering when his would fill out. There are so many J15 babies with heads full of hair!
