I still have a lingering nasty cough from being sick last week. Getting a little grumpy about it.
Currently in bed with DD (is it laying or lying in bed???) and not wanting to get up. I need to pump and then am meeting a friend for a run. Hopefully this goes better than last weekend when I flailed Pheobe Buffay style and my pubic bone hurt.
Then off to the children's museum. They have a circuit exhibit and gear exhibit so I can get my engineer on with S1:)

What size disposable diaper do I need for DD? I think she is about ten lbs and 22 inches at six weeks.
We are going to Disney and then Virginia starting next weekend and I need to buy diapers. I always feel like such an idiot trying to figure out disposables.

DS is 11 lbs and is in a size 1 diaper. Those should fit your DD. Have fun on your trip!
SIL has been here for the past couple days and having her around to help has been great. I'm glad she waited to come out until later, I am appreciating the help now more than I did when we first brought DD home. In the beginning DH was off work so he was around to help and she was still sleepy and I was figuring out breastfeeding. Now DH is back to work and DD doesn't like to nap, it's been great to have someone around to hold her or rock her to sleep or help with cooking and cleaning.
I found out from my aunt that we gave DD my great-grandmother's name in reverse. I knew we were giving DD her first name as a middle name, but I didn't know the name we chose as DD's first name was my great-grandmother's middle, and apparently neither did my dad.

DD is 6 weeks and about the same size and she fits into size 1.

I'd say a size 1 also. DD3 is 11 lbs and a similar height, maybe a hair shorter, and still in 1s. She'd swim in 2s.

Morning! Hope everyone is having a nice morning. I currently have the best job at the playground. Sitting with a sleeping baby, sipping on my latte, and enjoying some donut holes. My H is on toddler duty:)

This morning has been perfect. I woke up to DS fidgeting in his crib. I got the biggest smile from him when he saw me. Once H got up, I made breakfast and DS played on his play mat. Now we're chilling out and finishing our coffee while DS naps. And its not supposed to be as hot as was originally forecasted. These were the mornings I dreamed of when we started trying for DS.

I love this! These are the kind of highs that make it all worth it.

DS is about that size now and he's between size N and 1. I'd go with size 1 to be safe.
I tried on all my pre pregnancy pants yesterday. The only good thing about the experience was finding $8 in a pocket. 😁
On a more positive note, DH and I had our first "date" last night. We went out to dinner with my parents, then they took LO home with them so we could go to a movie. It was nice.

Hey all!
DS went to his first happy hour yesterday. DH and I went into the city to meet up with a friend, and even though it took us forever to get in and even longer to park and find a stroller-friendly place to go, DS was wonderful and slept almost the whole time. I don't particularly like the guy we met up with, but honestly, it was awesome to just be out of the house and part of the rest of the world again for a little while.
Best of all, the day must have tired him out because baby gave us a 4 hour 15 min stretch of sleep! He's only slept that long once before and it was many weeks ago. Of course, I woke up an hour before he did because I needed to use the bathroom, and then I couldn't fall back asleep.
This morning we went to a farmers market, and DS fell asleep on the way home and is STILL sleeping over an hour later. We started trying to structure his feedings a little bit just a few days ago (I've been nursing on demand this whole time). It seems like getting out of the house really helps us stretch out the feedings easily enough - he was supposed to eat an hour ago!
Tonight, DH and I get to go on a little date since my mom and stepdad are going to come babysit. There is (STILL) a bunch of shit going on with DH's job (he and his CW's haven't been paid since 8/15) and one my my disability checks got lost in the mail, so I feel guilt about spending too much money, but we'll try to find someplace to get a few drinks and some food on the cheap.
R had a cardiologist appt yesterday. His heart is looking good and his pediatrician and cardiologist are both happy with his weight gain off breastmilk. I'm just waiting for the day that OALD doesn't make him scream at me. I don't remember when that got better with DD.

hrushka hooray for $8!!!! After S1 I was at my prep regnant weight quickly so I mistakenly tried on pants too early. It totally killed my self esteem when they were inches from being able to button.
Dude. hummingbird125 your H and his CW are really good people for sticking around. Over a month without pay?
shanny hooray for a good doctors appointment! How often do you have to go to the cardio? I assume he will have regular visits for a while?

How do I know if DD has colic? She screamed for a long while today and nothing would console her. She is now sleeping over my legs but if I stop patting her she wakes up and screams 😳
Gas or colic?? She is getting some toots out while sleeping. I haven't changed my diet at all but did binge on some ice cream last night. Although she cried a lot yesterday too.

I think its colic if baby screams for at least 3 hours, 3 days a week, for 3 weeks. I could be wrong, but that's what I've heard.

I'm feeling so like a slacker...by this point (almost six weeks old) DS had already started drinking bottles to get used to being put in daycare at 12 weeks. DD has yet to have her first bottle because there's no milk to put in her bottle. I have pumped twice, and I hardly got any milk out, but I can't figure out what is going wrong. I know I have great supply - is it just user error on my part? Do I need different size? Also for this reason I have never left her for longer than an hour. So that means no date nights with my H, etc. I have a Medela pump in style advanced and it just seems like it really sucks (or rather, doesn't suck lol) and doesn't work. But I know it's basically the most popular pump in the world - has to be me, right??? It's so disheartening to look down after twenty minutes and see not even a full ounce. My old pump was incredible and pumping wasn't such a chore.

Have you tried pumping first thing in the morning? I know this would be super annoying, but what about pumping the side your LO isn't nursing on, while he's nursing?

When are you pumping? Is it an ounce after nursing, or not at a nursing time? If it's after nursing, KellyMom says that's a fine amount! Otherwise, here are a few things that have worked for me (I had to pump 6x per day at first ETA down to 4x per day and pumping right now): - check flange size. Most pumps come with size 24, nipples should move freely. Here's instructions blog.medelabreastfeedingus.com/2015/05/medela-breastshield-sizing-guide/ - mess around with the intensity, I've read that full intensity isn't best for everyone - press the let down button more. I sometimes press it twice in a row to get things started - try compression and massage - try heat (warm rice socks)

hummingbird125 I actually think both times I've pumped have been middle of the night, Boulder Boob, baby fell asleep before doing both sides situations. I really want to start pumping in the morning, I just feel like the mornings get so chaotic with DS and trying to get him ready to get out the door to daycare. But this is a really great reminder that morning is the best time to try!!
