DD has her one month appt this morning. I'm interested to see how much weight she's gained. She gave me some sleep last night. Two sets of 3 hour chunks. I never feel rested though. Hoping to get a few naps in today

I'm working on a "big girl room" and H mentioned one time to DD that we will get a purple rug. That's her favorite and she has latched onto it. 😜 I'm scared to pull the trigger on ordering a rug from Wayfair because I don't want to have to pay return shipping if it comes to that.
Since I'm working backward from a purple rug maybe I'll have to come back later and post the comforter options I've found and you ladies can help me pick.
In other news, we've pretty much settled into a wake up at 1:30 and again at 4:30. It's not bad!!! Sometimes it's a little tricky getting her back to sleep from 5-7 but if it doesn't work out, we just snuggle sleep on the couch so I'll take that!

DD has been sleeping more the past few days probably because she has a cold, but she has also been eating a lot less. I'm happy about the sleep but a little worried that she's not getting enough food.

Babies will go through fits of eating more or less when they are teething or not feeling well. In an otherwise healthy child, it's usually no cause for concern in the long run I hope your LO feels better soon!

Thanks. She doesn't have a fever, just a lot of congestion, so hopefully it will pass soon.

That's us too. The 5-7 back to sleep is hard on his own, but he'll cuddle at least and I can close my eyes.

And just watch for wet diapers. Whenever DD didn't eat/drink a lot the doctors always said the diapers.

I'm irrationally upset my single running stroller has a flat:( I'll miss out on running with DD my last week home before going back to work. Amazon doesn't have the tire tubes under prime so the replacement won't get here in time:(
But in other news I didn't submit for reimbursement for last semesters tuition from work because I'd just have to pay it back when I quit:) it's starting to feel real! Just 8 months to go....ugh.

bocaburger, Yay for cheerful babies. coffeequeen14, Sorry about the flat stroller tire. Do you have a work contract that runs out in 8 months?
I survived my first week with DH being away. I can't say any of us enjoyed it but we were all so happy when he came home. I now have a much greater appreciation for military families where one partner is away for months at a time.
I have been dairy free for a week now and DS seems less gassy and fussy. We usually use plant based milk and I can do without cheese but I do miss my gelato treats. Coconut 'ice cream' just isn't the same.
Good thing that saving money is not my prime motivation for cloth diapering because I just spent a ridiculous amount of money ordering from a WAHM company. They won't fit DS for a while but can't wait for him to wear them.

Baby has been yelling all morning and only stopped for the amount of time we were in the grocery store. Then she became wide eyed, super smiley and incredibly adorable, everyone was going crazy for her! Yelled again all the way home, gave me a short break so I could put groceries away, and is now fighting sleep after eating. I have so much stuff to do today it's crazy! Hoping she'll sleep somewhere other than my arms so I can accomplish something!
Seriously. Cannot. Stop. Online shopping. Being on leave is supposed to help keep unnecessary spending at bay because I'm theoretically more tired and less likely to go to the store. HA.
DS is already a better sleeper than DD2 is at 2 years old. Whhhyyy are you still waking 1-3 times a night child!? I'm blaming 2 year molars but she's been a shoddy sleeper since birth. My favorite is DD1 mothering her and telling her it's okay and she needs to go back to sleep (they share a room).

DD1 did that every Wonder Week. I flipped until I read it as a Wonder Week symptom. She always mini growth spurted after to make up for it.
DD3 appears to do the same. At least she did for WW5.
Life with 3 has finally gotten real. Until now I had some sort of extra help - meals, visitors, DH home. Now it's me. It'll only get more real in 5.5 weeks when I go back to work. Phew!
DD3 was randomly sleeping amazing last week. I rarely talk about amazing night sleep because I hate reading about it when my kids are sleeping like junk. But it was really good. Now it's back to bad again. I thought maybe all the extra stimulation MIL was giving her was it, either that or gripe water + gas drops. But now she just seems overtired and even more gassy. Ugh.
I have a small amount of sympathy for the husbands (a few have been mentioned) who have talked sleep training. I would never sleep train at this age in any way that involved crying it out, but I find myself looking forward to an age when we can address sleep and expect it to make a difference. I know that's months away, but I keep reminding myself that it will come some day and we can get back to waking up only to eat and eventually only for exceptional circumstances.
gratefulgirl I look forward to the day of addressing sleep and it meaning something. I'm trying not to stress bc I know it can get better in the future. And then feel guilty that I'm wishing about time.
Hey ladies - sorry I haven't been around much lately. We currently have some personal/family stuff going on...on top of having to deal w/ newborn issues. Oh and of course our neighbor across the street decided that NOW is the perfect time to build a freakin' house! They broke ground the day we got back from the hospital.
So, w/ that said, I've already let Naria know I'm stepping down from being Aug 16's mod. She'll be assigning this BMB to another mod. I told her that we're fortunate to have a pretty drama free & easy going board so there shouldn't be any issues really 😉
I'll try to log on when I can to LT & lurk. Hopefully when the dust settles a bit, I'll be back on a little more regularly. So glad to see everyone's LOs thriving and doing so well!! Miss M is also doing well - just fed her and she's now zonked so I'm able to finally post this after spending a day compiling & saving it! Hope you all have a great week!!
My mom kept DD1 this afternoon, and 2&3 both napped so I got a nap too. Now I'm feeding DD3 and then we are going to dinner with my friend while DH watches the bigs. Pretty nice day! Let's just hope baby S cooperates at dinner!
