Week/Team/Fruit: 17w/2d - pomegranate

Appointments this week: none! fx that I don't have some emergent reason to call my doc.

Symptoms: feeling lots of twinges, movement, pulling, stretching etc. almost have my blood sugar under control from the GD. I'm on lots of insulin.

Rants/Raves/Questions: so excited & nervous & anxious to find out the sexes at our A/S. a couple more weeks to wait.

GTKY: What have you been craving lately? I really want ice cream or cheesecake, but I can't have any. (because of the GD). so I'm trying to satisfy my sweet tooth with kind bars.

Week/Team/Fruit: 11w6d/tbd/Brussels sprouts

Appointments this week: none until anatomy scan on Nov 9

Symptoms: none! I'm still losing weight despite eating constantly so I'm still trying to really up my protein intake.

RRQ: raves! Our NT scan went great. Both babies look perfect with matching heart rates of 172. After the NT scan we decided to go ahead and go public. I'll AW our cool 3D pics from the NT and our social media announcement below. This morning when I came to work my cube was decked out in pink and blue streamers and gifts. It was so sweet but I have no idea who did it since only a few of the gifts had cards. But at least I avoided having to personally tell people (other than HR I told last week).


GTKY: I've been drinking milk like it's my job. I'm not really sure if it's a craving or that I'm so sick of water than I want milk but yeah.

Appointments this week: None. Appt last week went great, both babies measuring over 3 lbs.

Symptoms: Tired, pelvic pain, general largeness

Rants/Raves/Questions: Rant - I am starting to get miserable. I'm tired, I'm hot, I'm huge, I waddle, My shoes don't fit, I don't want to work. I know I'm only 30 weeks, but this shit is hard.

GTKY: What have you been craving lately? I eat WAY too many sweets. Massive hugs to you, callmeKD, it must be so hard to avoid the sweets.

thanks requiressnacks. it is hard. but I keep telling myself that I want healthy babies. I had GD with DD who was born at 35 weeks. I'm hoping to avoid another NICU stay.

Week/Team/Fruit: 18w3d, sweet potato, a/s on 10/7

Appointments this week: Had an appointment with the OB this morning. Babies are doing great with heart rates in the 140s. She said they're really active. I got a refill on zofran so I can have it on hand in case I need it. She also gave me a standing offer for antidepressants after I told her about stress from work, SS2, and MH's surgeries.

Symptoms: Achy back, achy belly, frequent headaches from sitting in an office chair staring at a computer too much. Hungry always.

Rants/Raves/Questions: My OB pointed out that second pregnancies come with more aches and pains, especially since I'm carrying two babies twice in a row. For those of you who have carried one baby and two babies in separate pregnancies, how is a single pregnancy different from a twin pregnancy?

GTKY: What have you been craving lately? Grilled cheese and hot dogs.

callmeKD I have GD too and (think) I'm on a lot of insulin although I guess I don't know what's considered a lot. I am eating 100 grams or less of carbs per day and it sucks. It's a good thing for me though since I am overweight and ate like crap prior to GD.

AFM, 26w4/blue/bowling pins

I have a growth scan and I think a cervical check this week. I feel like they're going to have me come in weekly at this point, which doesn't really bother me. We'll see what they say on Thursday.

nomnom - I'm having a lot more aches and pains with this twin pregnancy then I ever did with DD. basically my OB said that I would have the 3rd tri aches and pains starting in 1st tri. which has been true. I also think it doesn't help that I'm 3 years older too.

I'm rotating between the chiropractor, massage therapist and prenatal yoga.

wow dream2be3 - that doesn't seem like a lot of carbs. did your doc tell you to eat that few? mine said I need 14-16 servings of carbs a day (so 210-240 grams). I'm on 60 units of night time insulin, plus 8 units per carb choice for breakfast and 4 units per carb choice for lunch & dinner.

No, not my Dr. I had 3 appointments with a nutritionalist and at the 2nd one she cut my snacks from 1 serving of pretzels to 1/2 a serving and my lunch sandwich to 1/2 a sandwich. Most nights I don't eat any carbs for dinner. I'm about to give up my morning (homemade) breakfast burrito too because even though I use carb balance, small, tortilla my after breakfast number is still a little high. I'm on 50 units in the morning and 20 at night as of last week.

fasting and breakfast are the hardest numbers for me to control 

are they/you checking your ketones too? and are you hungry? that's a question my endrocrinologist always asks - to make sure that I'm getting enough food. 

my breakdown is 1.5 carb servings for breakfast plus protein (so I do a whole wheat english muffin with eggs and cheese). 
morning snack - 1-2 carbs (granola bar, plus veggies and greek yogurt dip)
lunch - 3-4 carbs (so sandwich plus a chobani yogurt)
afternoon snack - 1-2 carbs cheese stick, pepperoni, crackers, apple
dinner - 3-4 carbs
night time snack - 2 carbs

oh and dream2be3 - check out the kind bars - if you haven't already. my dietitian recommended them. they are low in sugar and higher in protein.

The nutritionalist, who I don't see any more, has me checking my keytones and told me to call my OB if it ever is moderate or above. But when I call my OB they don't seem concerned. When I mentioned keytones to the newer nurse she was confused and said they don't test keytones. They have been moderate or higher for awhile now.

I am hungry at breakfast mostly. I added a spinach salad to my lunch so that helped but I don't know what to add for breakfast since my numbers after are still a bit high. My burrito is eggs, cheese, and either ham or turkey sausage in it. The only time my after breakfast number is good is if I have like a meat and cheese omelet or fried eggs and some sort of meat but I don't have time for that during the week.

Appointments this week: Normal OB appointment on Wednesday

Symptoms: It is more like what symptoms am I not having. My feet and fingers are extremely swollen, I tried going this weekend without my meds- nope, vomited all night long yesterday. Not to mention if this baby girl doesn't move away from my ribs and let me get some sleep soon I may just go crazy. In other words I'm miserable too requiressnacks. At least the heat has broken, right?

Another reason to LOL about a twin pregnancy - We went to a newborn care class yesterday and there were a bunch of girls in the class who were 35 and 36 weeks. Let's just say, my bump was FREAKING GINORMOUS compared to theirs. Even my husband was laughing about it.

nic1231 It's sounding more and more like I was really lucky my first twin pregnancy was so easy. I hope I can replicate at least some of it.
