Ugh. Baby woke up at 2am so I got her and a bottle. She ate half but then kinda stopped. I tried to put her down but she was so unsettled. Finally, she pooped so I cleaned her up and went back to the bottle. She kept playing with it so I said "Okay, g'night!" But no. She was still unsettled and crying.
By this point, it has been over an hour and I was losing my cool.
Husband got up, made her a new bottle and she sucked it down. "That bottle's defective," he declared. Huh? Oh well. She went to sleep.
B is four today. She walked into my room, climbed into my bed and told me "I know I'm four now!" I looked at the clock and it was 7:55, the exact time she was born! Creeper kid.
Ps dc2london, I bought those pajamas for her for her bday after you posted about them, she loves them and said she's wearing them all day
joy, that sounds so frustrating. But at least you got back to sleep.
steph, that is a bit weird. Happy birthday to your DD!
Today mh and I are on our own with the twins for the first time in over a month. I have already Had a breakdown. But am better now an mh is grocery shopping while I am at home with arms full with sleeping babies.

DH is taking the bigs to the nursery. just came in while I was nursing and said, "You need to get your mouth under control because your daughter is having a hard time getting her socks on and she just said 'Eff it!'" I honestly can't remember the last time I said that, but I know I have. Oops...
Edit: library, not nursery. My brain is a mess these days, just like people were saying yesterday in Randoms.

E has been only waking up once in the middle of the night. Figures that last night I was sick and in dire need of healing sleep and he decided to get up/ want boobs 3 times. Ugh
September was officially a fail for me. I did not finish my last class and my term ended yesterday. My car registration and insurance lapsed so now I have a non legal car and am an uninsured driver. The paperwork process is in motion but... ugh. Its what I get waiting on SO to deem them important enough to deal with, except I am the only one who drives. But his schedule is the sticking point a lot of the time.
I am really feeling only getting 5-6 hours of sleep a night. I am thankful its all in one chunk, but I am losing my brain during the day and with a nonnapping 2yo, I don't get any, either.
Aaaand I just had to yell at toddler for sitting on the baby. And here I was trying to braindump my negativity so I could try to have an ok day anyway.
Hi everyone! If your weather is beautiful like it is here, are you getting out to enjoy it this weekend? Its Oktoberfest in the tourist town up the highway -- if I still drank, I would so go for a beer and a brat.

DH decided to bandaid DD2's thumb to help her stop sucking it. She sucks it most of the day. We know she won't suck it bandaged and the pediatrician did encourage kicking the habit earlier (vs. those who say to wait until 4). But I wished he'd talked to me. I'd been waiting until DD3 was older. 4 hours later he gave in and took it off. We're going to need to be able to dedicate more time to soothing her before we do this.
I'm having a rough week over here. Recovering from mastitis. The fever is gone but I still have a big and uncomfortable lump. I guess this is what I get for my baby starting to sleep a little bit longer stretches at night. So instead of enjoying the sleep too I am now having to get up and pump multiple times. Plus she is waking me up with her grunting a lot in between. A week ago she got her first round of vaccines and also a laser tongue and lip tie revision. She had gotten a tongue tie revision day four of life so this was her second one. Poor thing was in so much pain and so exhausted. We have hardly nursed at all since and have been back to mostly EPing. I feel like we have totally regressed in the breastfeeding success that we had made.
Oh also I brought my dog to a routine vet appointment yesterday and found out he has fleas. Apparently my husband forgot to give him his flea and tick prevention medication the last few months. Basically ever since the baby was born. I was really surprised because he is primarily an inside dog, we only let him out to use the bathroom and let him run around in the yard a little bit. Well because we let him sit on the couch and all that I was freaking out and we have had to sanitize and thoroughly cleaned the entire house in every place he's been. I'm exhausted.
Oh and I go back to work in a week. I know it's the right choice but I'm feeling really depressed about it. And also feeling really nervous about how I'm going to handle everything with the sleep deprivation. My first week back will only be a three day work week and all the following weeks will be a four day work week because I am taking every Monday as a vacation day for the next few months.

katelm such a catch22 when they start sleeping 6+ hours and you'd love to get the sleep but have to get up and pump! I'm dealing with the same thing pumping at midnight and 4am. Sucks! Hope your mastitis pain goes away soon. Also we're work twins... I'm very emotional about going back in a week and I'm also starting back on a Wed and then doing Mondays from home. Good luck, I feel your pain in jot wanting to return.
hollyberry I'm sorry you are feeling stressed! It will definitely be a new transition and take some getting used to
@grateful I know it's not funny... but I giggle when I hear kids swearing. My friend's kid used to run around yelling "what the?!" over and over again.
venyia adulting is so hard. I hope the car stuff works out.
elm1214 how were the pretzels? One of my favorite foods of all time
katelm oh dear. I'm sorry!! That all sounds overwhelming and frustrating. I'm sorry!
DH tried to let me nap and E spent about an hour screaming - which was all I could take so I stepped in. I put him in the baby carrier and he instantly fell asleep. Poor guy was over tired, I think! It secretly makes me feel special to be his mama and to have calming powers like nobody else. Though a nap would have been nice too!

Haven't read but needed to share:
Day one at Disney. Kids are doing great. Super well behaved and grateful for being in vacation. S2 who NEVER has accidents just pooped on the floor in our hotel room. Wtf.
Do I try to clean it myself or call housekeeping?!?

hannahbear, the pretzels were delicious! Really easy to make too.
I'm feeling a little guilty about just signing up to donate things to DD1's preschool class instead of volunteering. It's just hard with a 2 month old. She might sleep the whole time or be fussy, there's no way to know.
We went to a retirement party and DD1 loved their sweet dog. We don't have pets, and no one we see regularly has a dog. I wanted to take her picture with the dog, but my hands were full with the fussy baby so I asked H to get a picture. We got home and I checked out his phone, all excited. He had one pic with another kid in it and it's the back of DD's head. (I would have taken probably 20 to hope one or two turned out cute.) Men!!

both? Clean what you can then call?
That's what we did. Couldn't tell what it was so I felt a lot less embarrassed when they came to clean!!!

Ugh sorry katelm fleas are a mess. I was so embarrassed when our dog had them but really, don't be. They can happen to anyone and most dog owners deal with it at some point.
elm1214 I typically just do a donation for preschool and whatnot. I do plenty for my community and school stuff just isn't my thing so I'm happy letting others have it as their thing. Always happy to donate!

katelm so sorry to hear that!! I hope you continue to get better.
venyia on the topic of fail, I found out that my company failed me and I failed on my own when it comes to my disability benefits from the state for my maternity leave. I totally filled out some forms incorrectly by accident and my employer just completely dropped the ball on another set of paperwork. It is going to be the most long drawn out mess getting it fixed and in the meantime no benefit money. :-(

annbuhdan LOL sounds like a pic my H would take. I'm constantly telling him to get a picture and he's like "we don't need one of every single thing!" Im like uh, yea we do lol
