DH's sisters are coming over today, so I feel like I've at least got to tidy up the house. Then I'm going to the dollar store to see what I can find to cure my organization itch.
Still bummed I'm not going to the Red Sox game, but I know it's the right call. Thankfully they're televising the Ortiz celebration so I'll get to watch it from home at least.
Excited football starts at 9:30am this week too. Only good thing about them having a game in London.
Beginning and end of the night were good but the middle stunk. I slept in the rocker with E for a couple hours so we could both get a little sleep 1-4. I watched her on our monitor at one point and she kicks her legs up and wakes herself up - drives me crazy! I'm trying to figure out how I can rig something to be up against her feet at the bottom of the crib so she feels a little more secure and doesn't kick them. This morning it was the boppy at the bottom of her crib by her feet. No plans for today. Should go to the grocery store at some point and maybe dinner with my sisters family.
jennybeans - Are you swaddling E? R does the kick thing too, although thankfully it doesn't seem to wake him up. Swaddling is supposed to help prevent that startle reflex from waking them up as much.

Last night was the first night swaddled for real. She actually is really good about her arms so far, it's the legs that wake her! I was hoping having them tucked frog like in the swaddle would help but its loose enough to let her straighten them and then kick..one more phase to grow out of!
Morning. I didnt sleep much so thats not new. Ds woke up in the middle of the night with a croupy cough. Only 2 wakeups total and he slept til 8 so I'll take it. No idea what our plans are today. It's my due date, so I think a cry and either a cheeseburger or a milkshake are in order.
I only got about 3.5 hours of sleep in 3 chunks last night. They already drew her blood to check bili levels so hopefully they're better, I don't know if I can handle another night of that.
DH is here to help now but I'm such a bad napper. Luckily I have coffee and my Colts to watch in 15 minutes!
hurricanerek, Shana Tova! I am Jewish too and my family will be meeting S at Rosh Hashanah dinner tomorrow
Today is DH's last day home with us which I'm a little weepy about. I'm kind of scared for being alone with S all day all week, but I've scheduled some people to visit and have some appointments so I'm hoping it won't be as scary as I am thinking. I don't know how all of you S+TM's are doing it with an infant and other kids. Lots of credit from me.

How about a cheeseburger AND a milkshake!!
I'd hate to have a stomach ache....though maybe I get the milkshake now and a cheeseburger later....decisions

Happy due date! Don't limit yourself, you deserve a burger AND a milkshake!

jennybeans DD2 does the same thing with her legs. When I lay her down to sleep, I lay a knit blanket over her bottom half just to add some weight. It helps a lot.
Nothing fun unfortunately! Just touched up some corners of a door jam that has been badly chipped and scratched by our kitties. Being stuck in the house almost 24/7 it was driving me nuts!

We're going to the hospital in a little bit for CPR training and a few other things. I'll be staying the night since all Js equipment will be dropped at the hospital sometime Monday and we have to be there for it. We're so close!

The dollar store is one of the best inventions ever in my opinion. They just opened The Container Store by my house and I'm oddly excited about the idea of going and getting things to organize the house with.

You could try streching a small band o. Knit fabric across the bottom and maybe tie it to.the rungs so its a little elevated like three inches above the mattress, that way when she kicks, her legs can't go all the way up but she still has room to move

You could try these too. m.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=63158306 They are a knit swaddle we use then for J in the nicu to keep his arms locked down because he would pull his feeding tube out and he wiggled enough the he would could get his arms loose from his swaddles eventually. Also the muslin swaddles of you can get the tight enough work well for that too.
Do any of you guys use gas drops? Did you ask your pedi first or just start using them? Alex seems to be having a lot of discomfort from gas and massage and bicycle legs don't seem to be helping.

I use them occasionally. Didn't ask the pedi. I haven't noticed a huge difference, but I'm also not using them as often as I could.
H and I are having an impromptu date night. Mom offered to watch the kids so H and I are at a bar having a beer. We're about to leave and grab some Mexican.
