MIL arrived at 3am last night from her road trip to see us. She's here til Friday. I'm excited for our first family visitor since A was born and a bit of help

I need so much coffee, too. I'm giving up dairy to see if it helps Sir Fussy McGassenpants. It's such a commitment. And I need coffee and I don't have a non dairy creamer. That may be enough of a reason to drag me and both kids to the grocery store today.
I'm up with DS. He's watching Sesame Street while I make coffee. DS slept in his bed ALL NIGHT. He woke up a couple of times, heard him talking to himself and he put himself back to sleep each time! Now if only I could have slept or had a baby it wouldn't have been such a waste of a night. Oh, did I mention I'm still pregnant?
Sorry to all those who had rough nights, I've literally gotten no more than 4 hours total a night for at least 2 weeks because of hip pain and DS.
@snuff9861, it always drove me crazy when people would tell me to stock up on sleep while I was pregnant. As if it's any easier to sleep with a kicking baby and body pain! Hopefully you can get a little sleep and have a baby soon!
I would go to the store annapunkalunka. Or at least drive through Starbucks.
Bit of a rough night but she gave me a good last stretch so I feel human. DH got up with the toddler at 6, and thankfully Grandma is taking her to the children's museum in an hour.

fem, I just drank my coffee with milk. What's one cup of coffee, right? I'll go out at some point today and stock up on coconut milk. Of course we're having people over for dinner tomorrow and I'm making lasagna. Guess I'm having salad!

Im at home. I stayed home last night after the revelation that medical supply would be dropping Js oxygen tanks at home but the monitors and his portable oxygen pack would be going to the hospital so I have to go up there later. However NO ONE has called yet to let us know where to be and when but according to the case worker at the hospital that will all be going in today, and we should have gotten a call by Friday or Saturday. Yeah, that never happened. On the plus side I can get some vacuuming and stuff here done.
Ugh add me to the bad night of sleep club. R was up about every hour and a half to eat then wouldn't go back to sleep after a 4am feed. Had to let him snooze on my chest in bed again for me to get more sleep.
kerbear - She arrived at 3am? That's late! Although I guess it doesn't really matter if you're already up with the LO.
annapunkalunka - Good luck with the no dairy. I would have still put milk in my coffee until I had a chance to go buy non-dairy creamer too. Can't skip coffee completely!
My ILs live next door. Last time they were so super unhelpful by being over ALL the fucking time. This time, I will let them over once a day of like 10 minutes, unless they want to take DS for a walk or take him next door. Then by all means.
We had a tailor come over this morning to pin DD1's flower girl dress and my bridesmaid dress for my brothers wedding on the 29th. She was in and out in less than 15 minutes and our dresses will be ready in a week. That's pretty much our only excitement for today. I think I might take all 3 girls out for a walk after nap. DD1 has only been napping every other day lately. 20 months is way to early to give up napping! At least she'll play in her room for the 1.5-2 hours, sometimes falling asleep.

So I've tried out the K'Tan with R a couple times now and I kinda hate it. The loops seem to be different lengths which means I can only get it on in one direction. Thankfully I never took the tag off so it's definitely going back.
Trying to decide if I want to try a wrap, or if I should just go right to a SSC. I like the closeness of the K'Tan but the fit just didn't seem right so maybe I would like wrapping.

I have 2 wraps, an Ergo with an infant insert and a Tula. Right now my favorite when we're out of the house is the Ergo with the infant insert. I get a good fit every time. With wraps you can sometimes get the baby in there and if it's not wrapped just right, it's annoying. I save the wraps for around the house, so it's not a huge thing if I have to take him out and readjust. I love love love the Tula for my toddler. Just my .02. Even though you didn't ask. Ignore me. Haha.

My favourite for the newborn phase is my infantino mei tai. I always get a nice secure tie off when they're that little. I also really love a ring sling for quick ups around the house.SaveSave

Tula comes in infant and toddler sizes, right? So do you have the toddler size Tula? Or are you still within the upper limit of the infant Tula?
I'd been looking at Lillebaby because it doesn't require an infant insert, but I still haven't been able to find somewhere to try on a Lillebaby yet.
annapunkalunka I might have to go the non dairy route too. I wonder how almond milk is in coffee?
Sorry everyone who had a rough night of sleep! FX for a better night/naps.
I just bought an almond milk vanilla creamer. Haven't tried it yet, so I'll let you know how it is. They had other flavors, too (hazelnut and some caramel type thing).
I'm proud of myself. I got everyone showered, dressed and out of the door by 11. New record for us. We're at the park right now and DS found some kids to play with. I'm going to let him run until he drops.
Speaking of wraps...DS's sitter let me borrow her moby. I read the directions and I still have no clue how to use this freaking thing. Think I need to YouTube some videos probably.

Great job!
I'm taking the second half of your post as a vote to go right to a SSC! Haha.
singingsea I use vanilla almond milk in my coffee and I like it, but I can also drink my coffee black so take it with a grain of salt.
annapunkalunka I need to look for the almond milk creamer that sounds good. I think I am going to need to get strict with no diary because I'm still seeing blood in DS2's poop.
LadyNymeria It's all personal preference. I really like my ring sling and Wrapsody wrap for the newborn stage then Tula once bigger. DH prefers the Tula with a rolled receiving blanket under their bums (FYI Tula doesn't recommend this, but I'm not totally sure why) for newborn and toddler stage.
We bought a Lillebaby then returned it because it was so bulky compared to the Tula. It would be worth trying on though because lots of people seem to really love them.
For reference, the twins are just under 10 pounds and DD1 is 20 months and 25 pounds and 33 inches and not in 2T pants yet which is when Tula recommends the toddler size carrier.
LadyNymeria mil is a night shift nurse and the drive is 12 hrs so she worked Saturday night, slept and then left around 3pm Sunday afternoon. It made sense to her I guess.
I have a tula, kinder pack, little frog wrap, and moby. I've only worn A in the moby bc I think stretchy wraps are the best for this phase. My DS LOVEDDDD the tula so as soon as A gets bigger we'll move to SSC. I personally suck at wrapping and love the convenience and quickness of a SSC.
Side note- you can also roll a blanket under baby's bum in a tula if you don't have the infant insert
singingsea the moby written directions suck. YouTube for the win. Also don't fold it in half like it says and I start with the middle marker about an inch below where my bra ends

I realized the simplest answer was to order a LILLEbaby from Amazon. Prime = free returns if I don't like it.
If I don't like it, I'll try a Tula next. I like the idea of being able to front outward carry when R is older, which the Tula doesn't do, so I wanted to try the LILLEbaby first. It does look a lot bulkier than the Tula so we'll see what I think once it arrives.

Anyone have experience with a really bad diaper rash?? We've been combating one on E and it's recently become raw and awful looking. He's naked now and the most content he's been in days. I feel bad it took me this long to figure it out. Any pointers?? Thankfully his pedi appointment is tomorrow.

Is it bumpy? Could be yeast, if so lotrimin will work.
