My whole home is asleep and I'm up pumping because DD woke to eat at 6:00 and I won't have time to pump after the 9:00am feeding. I'm sad I'm not still asleep but I will enjoy my quiet time and some coffee.

Rough start to the morning here. I hate starting the day already feeling defeated. 😞
I think my goal for the day will be 1 positive thought each hour of the day. 5:00 hour- I got to wake up to Cam's sweet smiles 6:00 hour- I shaved my legs in the shower! They were getting pretty bad. Now they're so smooth!

Sorry for the rough start! I love the positive thought an hour thing though. Keep it up!

Last night was awful but more so because I couldn't sleep.
DS projectile spat up all over me and himself. Like the worst ever. So I changed us both. He cried to nurse again. He nursed and the. Two minutes later did the same thing. Not sure what's going on with that. Fortunately he's happy and cooing. But in sure he will be hungry soon based on how much he's spat up.
I checked his temp and it's normal so I'm going to assume he just swallowed a lot of air or something.
Ugh last night sucked. Lo wasn't as bad but ds1 was up for an hour at 12:30 and kept asking me if I was still in bed. So I went to bed some time between 10:30-11, was up at 11:40 to feed lo who promptly pooped as soon as he was done eating, up at 12:30-1:30 with ds1, up at 2:50 to replace pacifier, up at 3:30 to feed lo and then 5-7:30 I was up about every 20-30 mins to replace the pacifier. Lo has a runny nose today so I think he may be getting whatever ds1 has so that may also be contributing to the crappy sleep. But I feel like burning that damn pacifier today.
I'm here. DS is at school so my house is quiet. DD is napping. I'm exhausted. She woke up 10 (!!) times last night. Only once was to eat and the other times she couldn't find a paci. I'm watching hurricane Matthew closely. It's freaking me out a little. It's huge and we're back in the cone now. I haven't been through a storm like this since I was a kid. I really hope it turns away. And of course it's the one weekend we have vacation plans.
Omg that's scary. I have no idea what I would do if we had those kinds of storms.
Also, are you serious that your lo can replace her pacifier herself if she can find it? My lo doesn't even try, he just cries as if he's lost a limb.
Sorry for the rough sleep ladies! I'm glad Cam doesn't use a paci at night, but at the same time that means he won't ever self soothe back to sleep. So boo to that lol
Positive thoughts continued: 7:00 hour- I listened to an awesome message about time management and finding the significance of daily activities by a top director in my MLM company. 8:00 hour- I had a good pump session and got 2 bottles worth of milk. 😊
ellesea yes, DD normally replaces her own paci if she finds it. We have 8 in her crib lol. If she needs help, like last night, we go in and put it in her hand, not her mouth. We started about a month again with our hand over hers and eventually she figured it out.
Omg I'm going to start this. His pacifier is almost always right beside his face.

Boo to the sleep and hurricane! I went through Ike in 2008 and it was fine but not fun! Hopefully it turns!

We had a meh kind of night. He put himself back to sleep with his thumb twice. This is the first night he's done that since the start of the regression. Do I see a glimmer of light?
Hi y'all!! I love the positive thoughts on the hour. So here are mine: 5-adorable smiles from DS2, 6-awesome cuddles with husband, 7-big hugs from DS1 AND adorable nursing session w DS2, AND family breakfast.
@frenchtoast, Hurricane Andrew was a fucking scary one and I was in Brazil. Long story short, my dad was on tour with his youth orchestra (he was the conductor and director at the time) and they were in Costa Rica. Instead of flying the orchestra back to Brazil, United re-routed to MIAMI where they proceeded to be stuck in the Miami airport for 3.5 days. All my dad had to eat in those days were 3 twix bars and 2 beers. My family had to filter phone calls from ALL THE PARENTS of the kids on the youth orchestra. Needless to say the orchestra (and several others) sued united airlines as they had the option to fly from Costa Rica to ANYWHERE ELSE but Miami but the "crew" (aka two asshole pilots) said "they had plenty of time to catch their connecting flight". It was an emergency landing, and a run into safety from the tarmac! Ugh, I don't like storms.
Decent-ish night here too. I have yet to figure out how I can get my baby to eat more during the day as he still needs to eat at night but I want to get to a point of him sleeping 7pm to 4-5am. oh well...will keep doing what he needs.
Rough night here, too. But mostly because I was so exhausted and in need of sleep that any wake ups would have been rough, let alone the 4 or 5 that we had. I'm hoping since she's up a little earlier than normal that she's going to take a long first nap again like she did last time. Which almost guarantees that she won't. Sigh.
Argh have I mentioned my mom can be an asshat? She called, my voice was a little groggy when I said hello. She asked if I'm sleeping, I said no but baby I is, she then scoffed at me and asked "why are you near him when he's sleeping again?" then "or are you letting him sleep on you again?" I didn't quite know how to respond so I paused a minute then she scoffed again and said she can't hear me and hung up. 😳
How am I still not grown up enough to not let this bother me?

Even though we were up three times last night, DS has been greeting me with huge smiles and giggles in the mornings. He has started really belly laughing and it's the sweetest. His sister can really get him going.

Parents are the best at pushing our buttons because they are the ones who installed them.

babycaps that's so crappy of the airline to force them to stay in an airport like that! 😡
The airport was shut down. As in no one comes in our out! They were at least relatively safe?! Safer in there than trying to get out to get anywhere else! The root of the problem is that they flew into Miami to begin with.
9:00 hour- best K class I've had so far this year! 10:00 hour- a student gave me a picture she drew for me 11:00 hour- I made a conscious effort to enjoy my lunch bite by bite. Gotta take advantage of kid free and non rushed meals while I can! 😂

I was watching DS in his jumper and I have never liked out the seat looked. So finally I got out the Amazon link and looked at the picture. Sure enough, DH put the pad in backwards. Of course because it's on backward it's wedged in so hard I can't get the seat out. Which means I'll need to bug h when he comes home.
teraiin - DH "read" the car seat manual for DD. At about a month, I was like wtf, this is impossible. It was so hard to get her strapped in and I knew that it would get worse as she grew. So I pulled out the manual and learned.. that you don't put the legs through the strap also. 😖

I RTFM manuals now instead of relying on him.
Yeah h never reads the manuals be used "they don't help"
Which of course is why he had to keep taking our big screen tv off the wall mount because he kept doing things backwards. He's lucky it didn't fall off. Then we'd be out a tv, mantle, tile, and part of our new floor I'm Sure haha
Point is, in now in the reading the manual myself camp.
So, while DH was drunk on Sunday, he made arrangements to get a tree removed. $1500 is exiting our pocket on Thursday. There are lose plans to tear up the front yard and resod, but no commitment. This is the kind of crap that happens when your friend is a professional landscaper.
I've talked DH out of replacing our TV/media center/sound system until we move in a few years or firmly decide to stay put.
He would still like to get all our internal doors and closet doors replaced. I'm seriously considering it. We will at least get a few bids on it anyways I imagine that we won't see any improvement on our sale price when we go to sell, but at least we'll enjoy it. I'm also considering getting a solid door for our bedroom at least, vs. the hollow core we have now because noise travels too well in our house. Particularly DD's screaming at night.
Apparently, the next few months will be expensive.
My sympathies k3am. That's how I felt with the living room floor and how it turned into bathroom floor and kitchen sink. Ughhhhh.
Also now DS likes his jumper so much more because now he can actually reach the toys. I had been wondering how a kid in the 99% percentile for height couldn't reach the toys in his jumper haha
