Good morning everyone. I up early because DS1 is sick. His BFF was diagnosed with strep Tuesday and DS was at his house Monday so I'm thinking that's what he has. 3 more hours until the Dr opens. I'm trying to decide if I'm still going to send LO to the sitter or not.
I should stay home and paint my house but I will probably lay in bed and watch movies with DS. Ever since LO starting sleeping through the night, I can't sleep. I feel like something is on my mind and I can't place what it is.
Just giving C a few more minutes before getting him up. He was chatty at 5 when I was getting ready for my run, plus he was exhausted last night after spending the day in the toddler room. So I'm waiting as late as possible to get him.
It's starting to be noticeably lighter in the early mornings and evenings, which should keep me going until it gets warmer. It's going to get warmer, right?!
@ kim22 - I hope DS1 feels better and your painting magically gets done.
kim22 I am the same way when V sleeps through the night, I can't seem to get settled. Hope DS1 feels better soon!
@mx2 glad C is turning a corner! She's such a little trooper!
Not much going on here. I overslept by half an hour and then V really did not want to wake up. She kept turning away from me and burrowing into her blanket. I hate when I have to wake her up before she's ready. Of course that never happens on the weekends!
I have some errands to run this morning, but Josie is still sleeping. I'm making cinnamon heart cookies for my husband's colleagues (my former colleagues) for Valentine's day.
My little rat terrier, Tillie, has been acting really weird -- peeing on the floor right after we take her out and squatting to pee outside without actually peeing. I think it's a mix of stress and a uti so I. We'd to get a sample into the vet this am.
Such a random post. Hope everyone has a good day!!
Hugs to all the sick moms and babies (even the big ones).
We're heading to story time at the library this morning and then making brownies for a Valentine's party tomorrow. I have to go to the grocery store. I don't keep much of a baker's pantry besides the basics.
The party is at someone's house. I've never met her, we're just in the same Meetup. The kids will be all age ranges. Would you make valentines? I don't know most of their names. Everyone is bringing food, but there's been no mention of anything else.
Today is pretty low key... I went to the gym this morning so knocked that out of the way. Yesterday I felt better than Tuesday, so I'm hoping to be on the up and up. More drainage now so I sound like I've smoked like a chimney my whole life.
DC has an activity for the kids this afternoon where parents can come watch. They set up an obstacle course and that's how the kids display their large motor skills. So we'll go to that, then head home for some turkey chili for dinner.
Then this momma has to assemble the valentine's for DC. Nothing like waiting til the last minute!
But one happy thing, my old navy purchase yesterday has already shipped! Woo!
All this measles talk is making me nervous. T has his 15 month appointment Tuesday where he will get his shot. I ended up sending him to daycare because I'm irrationally afraid to bring him to the Dr office today when I take DS1 in.
@mx2 glad C seems to be doing better...hopefully things will continue to improve from here kim22 hope your kiddo feels better soon! maybe y'all will get lucky and it won't be strep. @yez9 that's exciting!
B slept great last night but woke up at 7 burning up with a 102 fever. Ugh. I was hopeful it would have broken overnight. He napped in my bed for a bit, and is awake now and eating breakfast. I'm hoping if he's feeling well enough to eat, that that's a good sign. My parents are coming over this afternoon so I can get to the grocery store, b/c the cupboards are bare.
On a positive note, our new appliances are being delivered today. I. Cannot. Wait.
finnaroo our playgroup is doing a Valentine's day "party" but we are missing it since we'll be home waiting for the plumber. We specifically talked about bringing Valentines for everyone (I'm kind of glad we're missing, b/c I only know about 2 of the kids' names!) I'm thinking if that wasn't mentioned, you're in the clear.
Glad to hear that C seems to be turning a corner @mx2!
We are headed to the ped this morning to get Sierras ears checked again. Both the audiologist and the neurologist said she had fluid in them but they were not infected and that we needed to follow up with her ped. Do they do anything for just fluid?
Nope, nothing for just fluid...or not in my experience. Usually they just say, "it could either clear up on its own or become an infection."...gee, thanks.
wineallthetime, to be fair, this has felt like the longest week ever.
LizInFL - Sorry to hear about B's fever. I hope he's on the mend quickly.
DH and I got into an argument before I left for work this morning, which was an awesome way to start the day. Then I dropped C off at daycare and his infant teachers were telling me how sad they are about his impending transition. Plus C refused to hold my hand on our walk down the hall to his room, he wanted to do it himself. I was far too emotional to deal with all that this morning!! Fortunately DH sent an unsolicited apology over email, so my mood is slowly improving.

I woke up to the sound of millie gagging. I ran into her room thinking I saw throw up everywhere. Nope. It was poop. In her hands. She tried to EAT it!!! I need all the coffee. Ew.
melaniesue05 I do believe that is worse than poop soup!!! You win the poop war!!
Lol. This was not a competition I wanted to be in. Made me laugh about the washing the crib bumper post from the dump thread. It's the first time I had to wash it! Crib sheet in the trash bc in not scrubbing that poop out. Millie kisses aren't as appealing today.
I'm really getting tired of my coworker making her 'been there done that' or the 'just wait, you see what you have to look forward to' comments. Dude, my sister has 4 kids. I'm pretty sure I already know what I have to look forward to.
Would it be possible for someone to tell her to STFU for me, please? I don't have the energy to put up with her today.
I'll tell her....what's her number?
I will call and remind her that she's not the only person to be pregnant/birth/raise a child.
The dogs pooped their bed (they share a crate) last month- I think one was sick and the other just pooped in defense of the other's poop- and I just took the entire dog bed straight outside and told DH not to even strip it because it's going to the curb. There was no coming back from that shit nightmare.
LOL at all these poop stories. We have not had anything like this...yet.
mwhipple77 and JoeLies thanks! he seems to be feeling better...not sure if the fever has actually broken or it's just the Tylenol masking it, but for the time being, I'll take it!

I have apparently forgotten how much I hate Ikea because I'm going there now to get a kiddie table and maybe the easel for Doug. I wouldn't but they are by far the cheapest. Whats a girl on a budget gotta do to not go there?
Thanks @ klongoria - I kinda thought that was the answer but wasn't sure. When the neuro said it wasn't infected I asked if it really warranted a trip to the ped and she said yes b/c if the fluid is persistent it could lead to an ent referral/tubes. So I shall make the 45 min drive I guess.
I think mskatiep is in a similar situation. Layla kept having fluid in her ears, but no infection. The pedi mentioned tubes to her. She did get an infection a few weeks later. I'm not sure what the deal is now though. Maybe she can give us an update.
lfigge yes Layla has had fluid in her ears since like 3 months old. Our ped has been keeping an eye on it with the tympanometer at each appointment. Sometimes one is clear and the other has fluid and then the next appointment they switch. Amazingly enough she just had her first ear infection a few weeks ago. Our ped said that we will continue to watch and that we may need tubes if they don't clear, but we will "drag our feet."
Her hearing doesn't seem effected, she can hear a pin drop it seems, and she seems on track with language. If she starts showing any signs of delay, I will push for tubes.

PW? post?
About to take the hubs to urgent care. He just noticed blood in his navel and dr google tells us that requires a trip. Says it can be a cyst or infection.
No one to leave Ava with this early, so I'm hoping Tula will save the day. Tad worried about the measles thing here, but all medical buildings have signs everywhere saying if you're experiencing symptoms to not enter bosoms, but wait outside in your car and call them.
if this guy can get out of the bathroom at can go!
