After a rough few days (omg LO would not nap at all - I think the changes in schedule because of the holiday were difficult for him) E slept tonight! It was glorious, he finally went down at 9pm and slept until 3am!!!
I also had a new experience: engorgement and leaking. It's never happened to me, but I guess because he slept for so long without eating? Anyways, it sounds weird, but I was kind of excited to experience this aspect of BFing that I hadn't before. Ha!
Good morning! So the longest DD has ever slept at night is 6 hours (rare). Usually we get one 4-5 hour stretch, then she is up every 3 hours.
Umm I just woke up and she has been sleeping for 9 hours! It's been 10 hours since she last ate. I'm sure this is just a fluke, but I really really needed the rest so I'm grateful.

hannahbear nice!! I was also excited when he started sleeping til 3am. Til the boulder boobs happened- ouch! So now I get up to pump around midnight. Kinda sucks cutting into my sleep but it feels way better and helps regulate my supply.
We aren't having another so we're not keeping any of the clothes. We agreed to keep the one onesie that I used to tell H I was pregnant. So this morning I said to myself I'm gunna put him in that one for possibly one of the last times before he outgrows it. He immediately puked all over it. Hahaha thanks buddy.
Yesterday I fell prey to "overtired baby syndrome." It just worked out that DD didnt nap well due to our schedule during the day and then she was woken up by DS1 from her ONE GOOD NAP, and proceeded to scream until bedtime. And I mean scream. She's all smiles this morning, though.
Rosh Hashanah went way better than expected! We didn't bring the babysitter but my ILs helped a lot and the babies did great so I actually got to pray.
Sunday night both babies STTN from 12-7! It was incredible. It didn't happen the last 2 nights so I'm thinking it was a fluke but hopefully a preview of good nights to come.
Today and tomorrow the babysitter is here all day but some of H's classes were cancelled so he'll be around more too. He has tons of work to do but it does mean I have more backup... so far this morning I took a long shower and now I'm going to get coffee. So I'm feeling pretty happy!

Sorry for the rough day! I hope today goes better!
Monday night I had a bad nightmare and woke up yelling. I woke the babies!!! It was terrible.
My kid is still up every 3 hours at night, buuuuuuuuuuuut - she's really beginning to master daytime napping.
I get a morning one from 8am to 9:30/10am then a long one starting at 1pm. Once she's up from that, it's a cranky run to bedtime(hence the playing with bedtime), but man is she a smiling, happy baby until about 8pm every day.
- We're doing a kitchen remodel starting Monday (no comment).
- My in laws are coming on Sunday for the week (they say they'll do nighttime feedings.. don't tease me so).
- The long afternoon nap time will be spent emptying the kitchen and organizing to pack up the baby for the kitchen remodel. I just got the damn house nice and organized for her, too. BLAH. But, the naps. THE NAPS. They're saving my life right now.
I think I'm finally starting to master naps. On the other hand DD has become such a restless sleeper at night. So much tossing and turning and grunting and groaning for hours. I don't know what's wrong with her, I would think her cold should be gone by now. Sleeping like that can't be restful for her but she's always happy when she's awake so idk.
I kind of wish I was going back to work. I like spending time with DD but I'm feeling lonely and kind of bored. I've been thinking about applying to jobs again but it makes more sense to wait until DH gets something back home. Before when I was unemployed I did a lot of volunteering but I can't do that with DD.
We are planning on flying home to visit in Nov and apparently DH and I had different ideas of how the trip would go. I thought we would be splitting the time between oour families (they live 1.5 hours apart), but DH assumed we would be staying with his family the whole time because MIL and SIL want to throw a shower/meet the baby party. We fly into ILs city Friday morning, the party's Saturday and we fly out Sunday afternoon. So now I'm trying to figure out how to split the time while DH complains that it will be too hard so we should just see my parents another time. Except I told them we were coming to visit and I know they will be hurt if we don't. Blah, basically big communication failure.
pttomato I try to combat the botedom/loneliness by getting out of the house as much as possible. It breaks up the day and allows some interaction with other adults (even if it's just ordering coffee). Are there any mom groups near you? Or storytime at a local library or bookstore?

I've been going to baby storytime at the library every week and I get out of the house for a walk or to go to the store most days. I do think I need to find a local mom's group. It's sad that I get excited for days we have a doctor's appointment because I have something to do.
R is really just starting to have more wakeful times so I guess I need to follow you all in starting naptime stuff! I don't usually buy into Wonder Weeks, but week 8 is definitely happening...both cute and tiring.

I finally figured out DD3's waketime for 8 weeks - 40 minutes was too short, an hour was too long but 50 minutes got us a long nap. Now I have to wake her from said long nap for preschool pick-up.
Also I crazily offered to do an online LuLaRoe pop-up for a college friend and no one has joined the group. Wah!
But the weather is great and I have accomplished things this week.

Hey all! We actually had a good night of sleep too. DS slept 10-2:45, 3:30-6:30, and 7-8:30. I would love to get 5-6 hour stretches, but right now I'm super grateful to be getting regular 4+ hour ones. He's also been napping MUCH more than usual now that we've been making it a point to make sure he naps after being awake for 1-1.5hrs. All in all, I feel like I'm finally starting to figure this kid out!
Currently, DH is in the vet's office with our pup getáting her nails clipped, and I'm nursing in the car. Then we're going on a long walk next to a river :-)
We had a great ped appointment today. LO gained weight!!! The ped suggested trying everything on demand this week. I make enough milk, and he gained enough that she was comfortable experimenting a bit. I feel like we are starting from scratch a little, since we had been waking him day and night to feed, and this will be a different routine, though I hope it will feel more organic.
E also had his 2 month vaccines. Glad I had DH with me. It was a little more emotional than I thought!
We also went to DH's work to introduce all his work buddies to the baby. That was fun!
Glad everyone seems to be doing well especially with sleep.
We made rent for another month, so that's good. SO is looking at a potential job offer, we find out Friday. Its managerial operations stuff at a clothing retailer. Nothing fancy but suits his skillset. There is a chance of relocation depending on how hiring goes for the local store. Unfortunately... there is also a mandatory 5 weeks of training 2 hours away. Because SO doesn't drive and our car is a POS anyway, we don't know if he could make it home at all in that 5 weeks.
I already am having panicky RUN AWAY feelings, the prospect of 5 weeks alone with 2 kids under 3 does not help. But we need him to get a job. And part of me thinks relocation could be good for us, except it puts us hours away from any family or friends. Sigh. Plus, SO is still operating his own business as best he can. What is it in the air lately, that we are all having money issues?
On top of it all, I am sick. I think DD2 must have a touch of congestion, too, since she was squirmy and snuffly all night. I just need one good long night of sleep. Sometimes EBF can bite me, since I don't even pump at all.
So the fabrics are all synthetic blends and some don't breathe...usually that would kill it for me.
Buuuut the tunics make my postpartum abs look OK. The leggings really are like butter. The kids sizes fit me perfectly. The prints are so fun. I wear each item I own weekly so I have washed plenty (because baby spit up) and it is all holding up fine. I am straight up hooked.
ETA: I am guessing if I fit the tween sizes so well those in their XXS to 3XL target range for adults would also find a good fit.
Glad everyone seems to be doing well especially with sleep.

can he learn how to drive? If he does get the job, he may need to drive to get there (after the training), right? Good luck to him either way!
Sickness sucks too when moms do everything and still have to do everything while sick.
shanny, its not that he doesn't know how. He was, uh, not the most careful driver in years past. He stays out of trouble if he just doesn't drive. He currently doesn't have a license.

Oh my gosh! This is my kid almost exactly! ::high five:: We're both getting it and doing great!
We had an ok night of sleep . He went from 10:15-2 and 3-7:15. Unfortunately most of it was spent sleeping on me. I tried his crib, next to me, his seat, and still only on me. I tried sound asleep and sleepy but awake. I'm hoping this is a phase related to a growth spurt or wonder week. I'm ready for him to be in his own room and me in mine. I kind of remember DD doing this between 4-6 weeks and then became a unicorn. I'm hoping the same is true for DS.

Oh no! That puts so much pressure on you. I forget, do you live in a city with good public transit?
