Life is good We got to see Bug today, who measured right on track (8w3d) and had a strong heart rate of 185. I feel very at ease today. We even got to see Bug moving around and waving at us/covering his developing little face It looked like Bug was body surfing in my belly! Crazy to think there is a baby, moving around in there, and I can't feel anything!!!
Last time I had my first ultrasound at 9 weeks, but this time I'm not scheduled for one until Nov. 25 (I'll be 11.5 weeks). I was feeling pretty relaxed about it until just the last couple days and now I'm having a hard time being patient.
Went to my nurse appointment this morning. Checked in and was told I couldn't be seen because our insurance cards said Mercy and not Dreyer. It was the wrong group network. So after a total of 45+ minutes on the phone with our insurance company and the marketplace (over 3 calls) I was able to get my card changed and my new appointment scheduled for next Friday morning. Such a cluster fuck of a morning. Waste of 1:20 min drive there and 1/2 day of daycare for C (Well I paid for half day, he was there for 2 of the 5 hours allowed) and the 1:20 drive home.

@sabrinami - that stinks! Why didn't they catch that before your appointment? I used to work in a medical office and would check insurance twice before the person even came in. I'm glad you were able to get your card changed and a new appointment scheduled.

It's a new insurance policy, just started 11/1/16. I didn't even have my card when I called to make the appointment.

Had our ultrasound today and baby is measuring perfectly! Heartbeat was 174 and I was released from the RE to my regular OB! Yay!!! I have my first appt with the OB (nurse I'm assuming) on 11/16.

I also had my first ultrasound today, everything looked great! Baby is measuring two days ahead of schedule, had a strong heartbeat (forgot to ask what the number was, though), and was waving its little arm and leg buds at us. We'll see if my OB changes my EDD or keeps it June 13th.
trebletrouble13, my EDD based on O date is also 6/13, but at my US earlier this week I was also measuring two days ahead. I'm a little superstitious and didn't love the 13th as my due date so we agreed to make it the 12th

sdlaura - that is a cool coincidence! I actually like the 13th, 13 has always been a lucky number for me. With my history, even if my EDD is changed to the 11th, baby will arrive no sooner than the 13th. DS was due the 29th of July by LMP, but measured ahead, so they changed my EDD to the 21st. He showed no signs of wanting to come out, so I was induced on the 30th & he was born the 31st.
I just got back from my first appointment. The nurse didn't want to believe that I knew that I ovulated on day 26, so she put my due date as June 4. Well, the ultrasound put me at 8 weeks 5 days with a due date of June 14, which is close enough to my calculated date of June 16. So there, OB nurse! Some of us do track our cycles!
(I'm mostly just relieved that I have a healthy baby that is growing on track. Now I can relax a bit about not having many symptoms.)

This is why I just calculate a fake LMP date based on when I know I ovulated. I've done this with all my pregnancies, since I have long/wacky cycles, and it's just easier because then I don't have to argue with anyone about it

Back to the OB finally! I had a sono today and it nugget looked great. I didn't get to see my regular OB which I feared, but I'll just make it work with this new group practice thing. I get a great deal if I deliver at the hospital I work at so we'll just go with it. I told H that the main thing is that we are at a great facility that will get our baby here healthy and safe and thats really all that matters. Who knows I may love all the other OBs in the group as well. H said, "If you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with." So there ya have it.

This is kind of what I had to do this pregnancy but for a different reason. My first pregnancy I was charting and did magically O on day 14 so that wasn't an issue. This one, I never had a period so instead of explaining at my visits we made up a LMP based of the baby's size. Much easier!
Just when I was feeling good and relaxed, spotting started this morning. I am a mess right now. The nurse said that because it's brown and everything looked good last week not to worry, but let's be real, I am bawling right now. I just wanted one happy, no worry week, where I felt like I could just enjoy being pregnant. The doctor said we could come in if we want for an US to ease nerves but he is not worried. We are going in today at 3:30 CST because even though no one else is worried, I am a pile of anxiety right now.

For some reason I get irrationally annoyed when doctors or nurses try to explain to me that my EDD may be different because everyone ovulates at different times. Especially when I've already said that I know when I ovulated. Like, yes, I AM VERY AWARE and obsessed over when I was ovulating for 6 months to get KU, thanks. Ha. I know most people don't know that and they're just educating, but it really grinds my gears.

cateyes - I hope everything looks fine on the US this afternoon. I know I'd push for one too if I had any spotting, even though everything is very likely just fine. Let us know how it goes!
