Maxandruby I'm right there with you on the IEPs. I think I need to get an advocate from the DOE for going forward. We just rejected DS IEP for the 2nd time. We were able to get them to give him an additional half hour of speech each week which is great, but they are still just blowing us off about ESY. We requested a meeting so we'll see what happens. Mrsbuttinski, I used info from a link you provided in an earlier post to try to get them to budge on the ESY. Thanks for that!
My biggest vent is that the transportation company for DD's early intervention program is now refusing to pick her up for toddler group and sensory group in front of our building where they always have in the past because there's "too much snow." Uh yeah dude you're a transportation company and we live in New England and its the middle of winter. Figure it out. She has missed three groups already. This is also preventing the kids and I from attending the moms support group I mentioned in a different post. The director of DD's EI program is going up against the director of the transportation company for us and its turning into this big huge ordeal. Now the transportation director has involved MART, which is I guess in charge of ALL transportation companies in the state of MA or so I've been told. MART is siding with them so far. This sucks for DD. She cries about not being able to go and she was thriving there. DH and I are pissed to put it mildly. The engine is gone in our truck right now so we have no other way of getting her there. Don't even get me started on that, that's another story for a different day!
DH accidentally administered medication to our dog orally and he had terrible side effects. We called the ASPCA poison control line and we were up the whole night with him. I was hysterical because I really thought that was it for my dog and TBH I don't know if I could have forgiven DH for that. He felt SO bad and I'm really shocked he made that mistake. Shit happens and all, but usually not with DH, he is so precise about everything. He's always taken such good care of our dog. I'm really hoping this school vacation week is uneventful! If you read this, thanks for listening to me ramble on and on.
That sounds pretty miserable. I hope your dog is ok. I have had the flu this past week, and accidentally left a bottle of Vitamin D out and my dog ate it. It was mostly full. Dr. Google told me this is used in rat poison so it is a big deal! I had to make her vomit and went to 3 stores in my jammies to find activated charcoal. I did the math according to 2 different calculations of the "Max"; in one she ate 4x the maximum and in the other she ate 75% the maximum, so it was scary. It's been long enough that we would know if she weren't going to be ok so I am hopeful. Stupid dog would eat a box of razor blades if I left it out.
