Story time at the library was fun! He was the youngest baby, though there was a three month old and several four month olds. There were songs and props (egg shaker and scarf) and board books. He may have been a little young for it, but he was alert and smiled during the singing and playing. I also met some really nice people. Glad I went - I have a new Friday activity!
Taking your child to storytime is never a bad thing. Even though he's young, the different sights, sounds, smells etc are stimulating! I'm glad you went!

So after a couple days of short naps I finally realized DD3 is already a distractable nurser. I am having to feed her twice in a wake time to get a full feed. Hoping this is just a Wonder Week thing. At least once I figured it out I got some good naps today.
Had a play date with an old friend today. My heart is so happy to have had that connection.
It's weird to be this excited about a breast pump, right?
I ended up buying the Spectra from Groupon. It arrived today and I'm trying it now. It's wayyyyy gentler than the Medela, and it seems to be super effective! I don't know what it is, but I'm PUMPED. See what I did there?
Now I am return the Medela Symphony I've been renting. Yippee!
G has started making the most adorable cooing noises this week. I feel like my babies are starting to become much more fun and interactive. I just can't wait for them to start smiling!
Today is a special day...I'm tired, but DD had a fun birthday play date and was able to feel like attention was on her, not the baby.
R: I'm two months old. I am a heart warrior (I had open heart surgery one month ago). I love smiling, looking at faces and objects, and being held. I have gained ~5 pounds since I was born, impressing everyone with my growth! I am still working on sleeping for longer than two hour stretches.
M: I am two years old! I love talking, strawberries ("strawbees"), and playing on the big kid playgrounds. I am super active and it is hard to keep up with me. I started becoming slow to warm up in new situations, but quickly acclimate and take over. I start preschool in November!
DH and me: Our marriage is four and a half years old! The fourth year has been tumultuous and stressful, but still full of blessings and love. We have been and continue to be challenged and are learning a lot about ourselves, our partnership, and our sweet family.
Ughhh. I think I've mentioned before that my DD sometimes gets so upset at bedtime that she throws up. Well it happened tonight. I went in just now to calm her again and I told her no screaming when I leave the room. Very sadly she asked, "How about a little bit of screaming?" That girl!!!!

bocaburger this may sound strange but please, just one time tell me which is which. M is DS and G is DD right?
I remembered it as M=male and G=girl but now I think that's backwards. I'm a weirdo and little things like this sometimes irk me until I figure it out.
Correct! M is the boy, G is the girl. I suppose it would be easier if I just referred to them as DS and DD... but I don't want to!

Omg! So funny and sounds like something DD would do!! I have a rule that if she is crying for no good reason (example, Her favorite cartoon isn't on.) she is only allowed to cry on her bed. She knows this rule well, last week she walks up to me while I'm washing dishes and tells me she is going to her bed so she can cry. I asked her why and she told me " I'm sad. I wanted two jelly beans and you gave me three." Okay kid?!?
I really need my baby to smile. He's two months tomorrow and he doesn't really smile at me. DH keeps telling me that he's fine and since he was born 2 1/2 weeks early to stop stressing out. But I'm worried. I'm anxious in general so I'm sure I'm just being crazy, but I'm going crazy over here

Same here - 8 weeks and M has smiled a few times, G not at all. They smile in their sleep but not socially. It worries me because so many other people on here have smiley babies younger than mine, but the pediatrician said we still have time.

I completely understand that worry. I was worried for a bit too when DD wasn't smiling much yet. He will get there.

steph and bocaburger try not to get too focused on them not smiling yet. I do developmenral evaluations at work and there is such a range of what is normal! They've got plenty of time to give you some grins
