We're going to get "fall" family pictures today. The snow is still there. It's supposed to be warmer this week, so it will most likely be gone by next weekend. We can't reschedule the pictures though, because my sister, who is also our photographer, has to work the next 2 weekends and there will most likely be more snow by then. We're taking blankets and stuff to keep the kids warm in between poses. Hopefully they won't be miserable.

ok
DH accidentally picked up the girls 2.5 hours early from preschool today. Sometimes they stay until 1:00, sometimes until 3:30. Today was supposed to be a 3:30, and I had planned my day accordingly. He's having a really tough time at work right now (adults acting like preschoolers), so I really tried not to get annoyed with him over it.

thebanich such a cutie!! I love the Halloween Jammie's crimsonandclover that is so frustrating! I hope they are easy for you. We hit up storytime today and now we are waiting for dd1s bus. I'm going between a quick nap with dd2 or reading/picking up the house. I work this evening so it's a long day and I'm tired already. In other news I got registration papers and an info packet to choose dd1s school for next fall. Kindergarten comes so fast folks, I can't even tell you!

Oh one more thing, Dh has started saying "if" you go back to work next fall. I'd always wanted it in the table as an option, but the decision last fall was that I'd take one school year off. Now he's suggesting we are ok and perhaps longer is ok too...do I give up a job I can't get back? The idea of starting over entirely is so much scarier than going back to a job I know. However, time with my girls, no work stress, blah blah blah....
I guess we aren't doing pictures after all. My sister is concerned that I'll get mad at the kids, which will lead my dad to get mad at me. I'm feeling some kind of way about it. She's right that my dad would get mad at me for getting mad at the kids, but I don't think it's fair for her to assume I would. My mom thinks we should just wait so that my sister won't be mad about being "forced" into doing them today. So my sister is trying to find an indoor location to do the pictures. And I'm upset because I really wanted to do them outdoors. I guess I'll try again next year.

thebanich, sorry for the shitty day but damn she is cute! I love those halloween jammies too! crimsonandclover, bummer about the early pickup. I hope it didn't mess with your day too much. dizzycooks, Kinder comes WAY too fast! How long would you stay out of the workforce if you don't go back next fall? Sorry for the family drama, Lollipop.

I've been struggling to find time to get on here lately! I'm trying to pop in and read but my brain is just fried lately. I'm trying to plan for 2 back to back trips and it's taken all of my energy. This week is Fall Break so DS is out of school. We leave Thursday for Legoland! I'm super excited as we've never been before. We get home Sunday night and then I leave with DD early Tuesday morning for a work trip in Seattle. So that is my source of stress. There isn't much time between the 2 trips but I know everything will work out.

Well I assume we'd take it a year at a time. I wouldn't sub, so either is find a full time position or I'd stay home. Either way it's a full year commitment at a time. I'm feeling really blessed that we are able to have that choice. It's not one I ever really though I'd have so its weird to think I may not teach again for a while. We've discussed a 4th child and obviously that would play in big time as far as when I would start looking for work if we decided for me to stay home another year.

Has anyone lowered the mattress in the crib yet? I'm thinking we need to do this soon! DD is starting to show signs of pulling up on things and I don't want to find out the hard way that she knows how!

M's still sleeping in the playpen, but we took the bassinet part out at about 6 months. At this point we'll probably just keep her in the playpen until she escapes and then we'll get her a bed. It's not worth buying a crib that she'll only use for another year or so
I just saw a thing that said "I think the scariest part of having triplets is being pregnant for 27 months". I'm dying. At least they got the math right lol

We lowered it to the lowest setting this past weekend. We had it on the middle setting for a couple weeks, but she can pulled herself up and the railing was basically at her waist.
I lowered the pac n play to the bottom about 2 months ago. Last night when she woke up and was pissed she was jumping up and throwing herself against the side. God help me when she is strong enough to escape. We are headed to Florida Saturday. Hectic week can't wait to have a break.
Well, I upset my ILs. I told then that I'd let S pierce visit ear if he wanted to. His body, his choice. They were not impressed. Apparently an earring will have far reaching implications.

My brother and both of my nephews have pierced ears and my mom just can't deal. It's such a weird thing to give a crap about

Right? It makes zero sense. Even if, and that's a big if, it would have an effect on his overall health, or his job prospects or whatever, he could take the earring out. And as for job prospects, he's FIVE. It will be another 10 years or so before he can get a part time job.
My MIL also told my SIL that maybe next year she can leave her dog in the car while they go into restaurants. So clearly the woman is a little off
Question for those that have flown with their babies- was any form of I'd required? Like both certificate?? Can't believe I am just now thinking of this.

When we flew to HI in May I was never asked for anything. We are flying on Thursday and they require a copy of the birth certificate so I'm bringing a photo copy just in case.

Where did you check to see what was required? A quick google just took me to TSA info saying under 18 no id is required.

Oops sorry! Meant to add that it is on Southwest that they require a birth certificate for a lap child. I'd check the airline you are flying.

Well... this day is off to a great start. /sarcasm
DD2 had diarrhea in the MOTN, and I laid awake for almost an hour afterwards waiting for the puking to start or another bout of diarrhea. Nothing happened (thankfully). This morning I then had to take DD2 with me to the dermatologist for an allergy scratch test, and I put money in the parking meter for a good hour. It took 1.5. And of course in that time the meter reader came by and I got a ticket. To put the icing on the cake, when discussing the treatment options, the dermatologist (a very nice woman) looked at me and said, "Well, you're pregnant now?" while making a gesture with her hands indicating a pregnant stomach. Me: "No." Sigh. This diet and exercise regimen needs to start working soon.

To flip things around and look at the positive side:
Apparently DD2's diarrhea was a fluke (knock on wood), and my dermatologist made a treatment plan for me to hopefully finally get my seasonal allergies under control. It might actually be possible for me to go outside between May and July without feeling like I've got a horrible headcold and need to scratch my eyes out! I've also made great progress on my translation project and hope that I'll be done tonight. Then I'll have one more medium-sized project to finish and will be done for the year (for tax reasons I can't earn any more). That will allow me to focus on my continuing ed program, which I applied, enrolled, paid for over the course of the last few weeks! I'm such a learning geek, I can't wait to get started

It's such a personal decision. If I had the means and the option I'd absolutely stay home as long as possible! Hopefully you don't have to decide any time soon. 😊
