K I guess I'm going to the bank to talk about getting a third car loan. We could pay our cars off but we earn 3.5% interest in our checking account and only pay 1.25% interest for the cars so we just let the money sit. See ya'll later.
Holy shit, that is giant. Are you planning on having more kids after this one?
Probably not, although John has mentioned it a few times. We'll see how number 2 goes.
The reasoning behind such a big SUV is that we want third row seating so we have the option of having more than just the 4 of us in the car. There are tons of SUV's with third row seating, but the issue is that when the third row is up (in use) there is hardly any trunk space. We have a double stroller that we need room for and we travel a bunch because my parents live in NC and FL and we're in Michigan. Every other smaller SUV we looked at doesn't even fit our stroller with the seats up.
I'm also only willing to consider ones with bucket seats in the second row because from everything we looked at, it's a pain to get to the third row by folding up the second row with car seat bases installed. Nearly impossible in some of them (like the Explorer). So while the car seems giant, it still only seats 7, it just has a bunch of cargo space which is nice for us. DH drives a small car because he puts 100k miles a year on it, so it'll be nice that this will be able to double as a truck if we wanted to haul something as well.
heyitsmamac, I never thought about the fact that you can't access the third row due to carseats. DH is always thinking about our next car and while we want #2, we are undecided on #3, but do want the third row for the same reasons you listed out. I will have to give him this little insight along with the ability to fit the stroller! What's funny is that when we bought my car four years ago, we planned on keeping for a while and knew it would be a family car, so we checked out backseat legroom and if a carseat would fit, but now after having LO in it for a year, we are already discussing a new car. Crazy how actually having kids can change things.

We did the same thing. Ray must own a pickup truck at all times, so ... well there's that. So when I bought a new car in 2013 I got my Escape thinking this thing is huge! It will fit people and car seats and strollers and ALL THE THINGS! We'll have it forever and ever and ever.
heyitsmamac Good luck with the car search! I hear everything you're saying. That's why we got the Acadia. After having it for a few weeks, I'm liking it. The space is ahhhhhh-mazing. It has the captains chairs for the 2nd row. I can fit our stroller in the back with the 3rd row up, but yeah it's tight.
I usually just keep the umbrella stroller back there and can still fit groceries, etc.
I still totally suck at parking it, though.
IT'S JUST SO BIG!! (twss)
The Acadia is my dream car. (I think, I've never actually driven one, but it seems like what I want.)
We have an Explorer with a third row, and yeah, the trunk is basically useless with the back seats up. We might have to get something bigger or a minivan when we have a third kid.

I would have loved an Explorer, I thought, but I am glad we went with the Acadia. The cargo space in the Acadia is so much more than the Explorer, which surprised me.
EatsRitz i feel you...the waiting is not fun, regardless of how long you have been trying. it took us a year before getting pregnant with my LO and it was just as sucky at the beginning cycles. the first month of ever TTC (before my LO) was exciting and after that it just became a cycle of waiting and being disappointed.
-----stuck in a box-----
Hugs, lady. I hope it works for you sooner this time around.

I am sitting here sooo impatient for my freaking appt to get my iud removed!!! the appointment was scheduled for last month.....So, here I am, a month later still waiting.... I'm like, can the 24th get here ANY FASTER?!?!?!?!
BUT - on the sorta upside....Seems like thanks to my loooong cycles, I have ovulated on the 28th day of the cycle recently....Last month - 27, before that 21, before that 28.
So, I can hope for another long cycle and keep my fx for O on day 28 WHICH would be feb 24th

If it weren't for the double stroller, we probably would have gone with the Acadia too. And just like pearsforpoops I bought my car in 2013 because I was KTFU and it was so much bigger than my MKZ. That lasted all of a year before I demanded something bigger.
EatsRitz It's a local credit union. Lake Michigan CU.
ssm I watched the first two seasons of True Blood on DVD because a friend loaned them to me and told me to watch. I liked it but couldn't watch it alone because I'm a baby and John wont watch it so I quit.
Also, we were preapproved for the car. Going to test drive it/maybe buy it tomorrow. The guy laughed at us for asking what our options were (whether or not we needed to pay off one of the cars in order to get the other loan, because we're going to sell my car privately for more money than a trade in, but probably not til the spring because nobody will see it under the mountain of snow) because apparently our debt to income ratio is only 11%, with adding a third car loan. He said they go up to 45%. I imagine that's how people get into trouble. BUY ALL THE THINGS.

Ok, I did the Mirena before LO and haven't been on anything since and do not want to go back on hormone BC ever again.
I would do it again in a heartbeat without a second thought. In fact, unless whenever we are done I require a cs, my plan is to just get another IUD. They are cheap and last 12 yrs. Why spend all the money on getting snipped??
I think it is pretty awesome we can change our avatar to a gif. So, here I sit googling Labyrinth gifs....And trying to find the best David Bowie gif possible.....

Thanks for the info. I'm not sure I could do something permanent even when were are done, so this might be my route.
