I had a dream last night that I went over to a friend's house for hours and completely forgot about the babies - I actually left them at home! I woke up feeling like the most terrible mother. :-(

Good morning!
We're on our way to the doctor for DS's two month checkup and vaccines! Didn't have the best night sleep-wise, but this kid has been a napping champ lately so I can't complain.
Am I correct in remembering some babies run a low fever after vaccines? Should I have baby Tylenol on hand? Anything else I should know?

bocaburger so weird, I had a similar dream that I just left my baby at home and went to a concert and then halfway through the concert I said oh shit, he needs to eat! And was frantically trying to leave and get home lol
Ugh I'm back to work as of yesterday and it suuuuuuuucks. I want to stay home forever!!!!
Gl at the dr hummingbird125. I think you are right about the fever, but better wait to hear from a STM before buying meds. I have no idea.
Getting ready for our first weekend away with the babies. My ILs are hosting a Bäumchenstellen ( or a meet meet the babies party) for all of the family and friends. Its kinda like Germanys form of a shower, but no big presents ( likely money and small things) plus it has beer and sparkling wine! Yum!
I have been packing all week making sure the babies have their cutest clothes clean. i hope i have everything, we leave after their morning bottles.
So excited, its been ages since we were there because of being on bed rest and what not. Likely just after Christmas was the last time there. No one even got to see my baby belly.
Anyway should be a good time! Wish us luck for good traffic an sleeping babies. Luckily they are usually good in the car. Its at least a 3 hour journey!

hummingbird125 my babies didn't get fevers but were definitely fussy and unhappy so I gave them tylenol anyway. After a super fussy evening they conked out and slept great that night!
spicysalmonroll glad I'm not the only one having those dreams! I felt really shook up when I woke up.
Luckily the need to eat every hour didn't extend throughout the night. He gave me a 3 hr and 4 hr stretch starting at 8:30. Unfortunately at 3:15 wanted to eat more often. Unfortunately today is proving to be another every hour. I tried pumping to maybe give a bottle to make sure he gets enough..but nothing came out. So breaking into freezer stash. I'm trying to avoid formula for a little longer...I don't know why bc DD was FF. I have a feeling this every hour eating is related to him getting lazy after a short while and is just snacking. Just not sure how to break it. Im hoping bc we'll be out this afternoon hell sleep and go his normal 3 hour stretch.

My DD is a frequent eater too. She tends to fall asleep at the breast. I also have a fast letdown so I think she feels full very quickly, but isn't *actually* full
We are feeling the Halloween spirit here. DDs toes are painted orange and she chose orange as our new play dough color this morning. Maybe I'll have to scroll through Pinterest for some easy craft ideas during nap time. (Then I can feel sufficiently horrible about all the things I don't do as a mother!)
DD had her 2 month vaccines yesterday. She slept all day and went to bed easily so I thought I might get lucky and have a good night. Nope, she wanted to eat so many times. I'm so tired. On the plus side she did better than she normally does at sleeping between feeds this morning.
Pedi said her restless sleep is probably normal gas and there really isn't anything to be done. She did give me a probiotic to try. I knew that was most likely the answer but it's pretty unsatisfying. Not that I want there to be something wrong with DD but its frustrating to not be able to do anything to help her.

Lots of commiseration. If it helps any my most miserable baby is an extremely happy and exuberant toddler with a very high pain tolerance. No sign of how miserable she was for 5 mo. as an infant.
ETA: have you tried gas drops before every feeding? It's got a 33% success rate over here. Not great but enough to be worth a shot perhaps.

My morning started with both girls screaming and crying, but I finally got everyone happy and was able to drink some coffee. Hopefully the day goes uphill from here. This evening we're going to my mom's house to watch football and grill burgers, so I'm looking forward to that.

The words, "That's normal, they outgrow it" are simultaneously relieving and really irritating

I'm sorry for all the non-sleep in here.
DS ate every 2 hours from noon to 8pm. I was wondering what was up with him until he slept from 9pm-3am then 3:30am-8am. H said I was too perky this morning while he was getting ready for work, but I was just so excited about all the sleep I got.

Rejoice with me: my shorts (which for some reason I do not have in any larger sizes, unlike pants where I have more generous and tighter options) finally fit.
In other news, DD3 was fighting her Woombie to the point of it waking her up. We have the Merlin's Magic Sleepsuit but I knew she'd hate that because it forces arms to the side and she likes hers at her chest or up. We also have two Zipadee Zips because I actually do own every sleep product on the market. Unfortunately she is still on the small side for them and had gotten it over her mouth. Today I tried shortening it with a hair tie on the feet and it works! More arm freedom for her without freaking out for me. So if anyone else ends up using the Zippy and it seems generous (the small goes up to 28" I think, which is huge if you break the swaddle on the early side), that might help. As a sidenote, the Zipadee Zip is brilliant for swaddle transition, especially since kids can safely roll in it.

Guys, I am about to pull my hair out. Seriously at my wit's end.
It's all the same thing, same issue as always. Baby only gains weight when I do this triple thing - nurse, bottle feed, pump. When I experiment with other options, he doesn't grow. I was so excited that he was eating 100% breast milk, but this is just so hard and it's not really getting easier. It's already hard to have an infant, but this persistent feeding issue is making me so upset.
Went for a weight check and ped was not happy with growth. Trying one more week with bottle feeding after nursing before addressing next steps with ped.
I typically wake P every 3 hours during the day to eat even though most of the time she wakes herself around then. Is anyone doing this?
Someone told me it would help with sleeping but she's still up a few times in the night. She's on a hypoallergenic formula.
During the day i will wake them most of the time. (but they are not really good sleepers during the day anyway) Usually one will wake up and say its bottle time so i have to wake the other to stay on schedule. Mine only wake up once at night though and are also on HA formula.

I'm just feeling so distraught.
::hugs:: You are a stronger woman than me. It's hard enough to have a newborn but this on top of it makes it so much worse. You are doing so much - I'm sorry that it's still so frustrating.
SO has his third interview with the first company today. He is there now, talking with the district manager. I wish I could be a fly on the wall. Manager salaries for this company are insanely high. Like 4k+ take home a month. I am kinda cheering him on for this....
Meanwhile, DD2 is having a grumpy phase and DD1 keeps trying to climb all over us. Sigh.

DS is up to 11lbs 11oz, and 23 inches long! He screamed for his vaccines but quieted down as soon as I picked him up. He's been extra fussy for the past few hours so I tried to give him some infant Tylenol, but the freaking syringe it came with is broken, and wasn't pulling in more than maybe .5mL at a time, so I ended up getting about 1.5mL into the cap of a bottle, and had DS drink it from the cup. He did great drinking it, I just wish I was able to get him a full 2.5mL dose, but he was screaming the whole time I was trying to get enough medicine out, so I gave up. We'll try again in a few hours, when DH is home to help.
