My morning started with my 8 year old crapping his pants while vomiting. And the poor guy's birthday is Monday. I hope he feels better by then! LO has a faucet for a nose, my oldest boy is achy and febrile, and my H struggled his ass off to work this morning (let those people listen to him whine for awhile)! I think I'm getting it too...god help us. I wish moms could call in sick.
We're 40 minutes into our 7 hour road trip. Lo was out before we even hit the freeway. Hopefully little man gets a good solid nap in. His poor nose is so runny. This morning was a whirlwind of packing and cleaning and getting diaper laundry done. I must have channeled some super woman vibes, because somehow I got it all done. Lo was a disaster all morning. Packing his things up set him off and he whined and wailed a good chunk of the morning. I finally gave in and plopped him in front of the tablet so I could get stuff done without going to see what was wrong every 2 minutes.
raven I hope today is going a lot better than yesterday! littlelion yay for yh being back on day shift! kcrus sending you and your fam alllll the healthy vibes!
littlelion Yay for YH not on swing shift! Hope your headache has subsided. kcrus That is no way to start a weekend! I hope you find some magic potion to make everyone feel better. Good luck! Sending good juju vibes your way. ashlantic Oofta, good luck with the road trip. When we left for a 2 day, 15 hour road trip in August, we usually had someone sit in the back with her when she was awake to keep her amused. She also liked to look out the window, so we sometimes faced her carseat forward just to keep her from fussing. (I know, I know.)
DH's homecoming did not go well. He showed up after clearly drinking too much, and I ripped him a new one. Then he kept getting amped up talking about certain stuff, so I would try to steer the subject away. Grr. I didn't get to sleep until after 1am. He felt like crap this morning, and had to drag his sorry butt to work. He's paying for it very slowly, throughout the entire day. LO is down for a nap. Not even 10 miutes after putting her down, the neighbors lawn care people showed up to weed whack and mow incredibly slow. It sounds like she's sleeping through it, so win so far.
In good news, last year I got rid of all my boots. They were pretty bad looking and need replaced, so that's what I get to do soon! Shoe shopping!
raven Boo to your DH drinking too much, but yay to shopping for boots! ashlantic Hope the rest of the drive went smoothly! kcrus Sorry the plague is upon your house again, I hope you are spared! littlelion Yay for day shift! I'm sure you'll appreciate DH being around more, especially with the new little one coming so soon!
We have another Thanksgiving dinner today since my family couldn't pull it together last weekend. DH just took F out so I can try to get some planning and marking done first. I really despise the take-home part of my job Every weekend I feel anxious trying to get my work done, spend quality time with the family and keep the house clean. On the bright side, I picked up the pottery F and I painted last week, the earliest I've ever started getting ready for Christmas!
Lo is a champion traveller! He rocked the 7 hour drive yesterday, despite being stuck in traffic in some spots (which he usually hates.) It definitely helps having someone ride in the back with him. We've been slowly giving him new toys to play with as he starts getting restless. Flashcards were a big hit. Once it got dark out we gave him some glow stick bracelets. He went nuts. The hotel stay was not as smooth. He slept in the pack n play, but was up from 2:30-4:30. Thankfully he wasn't screaming, but it was hard to sleep through him babbling. "Mama? Bear.... uh oh...." We'd tell him to go to sleep and he'd be quiet for a few minutes and start up again. I earned my Starbucks this morning. We've got about 5 hours to go until we get to our destination. He's asleep again while we drive. Happy weekend ladies!
raven YH better be letting you relax this weekend. Yay for boot shopping! megpie5 those cups are adorable. I showed them to dh and he was like "oh, we could do that at work." He works for an ink company so I might have to borrow that idea from you. Enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner! Mmmm. I'm jealous. I still have over a month until our Friendsgiving.

ourcrazynavylife you get a pass...pout all you want. Hopefully yh understands. It's bad enough dealing with hormones but I swear sometimes dh does not know when to stop. Even when I point out how upset I'm getting.
We just struggle sometimes because I'm very type A and he's as mosey sluggish type B as it gets. Then he said some super not nice things like "is it Monday yet? Can I just go back to work". Implying that he couldn't stand be around me.
This is after he went surfing all fucking morning.
Ugh I hear you. Last weekend I got up early with F so DH could sleep in and took her out all morning so he could work out, watch sports, etc. When we were on our way home it was pouring rain, so I asked him to unlock the front door for us. Instead he left it locked and said something like "what's the big deal, you had to get a key out". Yeah while I'm holding a 28 pound toddler and groceries and getting soaked. Because I apparently spoke too harshly explaining my reasoning, he avoided me for the rest of the day saying he " didn't need to put up with being talked to like that". But no thank you for giving him the entire morning off parenting... I just don't think they realize sometimes how hard it is to be a momma and we just want some understanding and respect.
On our way to brunch with my family. Other thing planned today is work and clean out freezer. Exciting stuff. I did buy a pumpkin yesterday (no patch) so perhaps decorate the house for halloween. Leo loves to see the houses with all the outdoor decorations. Too bad there aren't many close to us that went all out. Yesterday we drove by a house with a haunted pirate ship in the front yard! Kid size ship.
