@coffeequeen good luck tomorrow!! Good on your H with the flowers. Based in how you dealt with working after having the boys I think you're making the right call to go back to work. If it doesn't work out you can always make the decision to quit later.
I met with my boss for brunch this morning and there was some serious guilt-tripping over my desire to take four months maternity leave. It sucks when benefits are there but you are discouraged from utilizing them.
blueinred I absolutely adore the Obamas. I always joke that Michelle and I could be BFF's and she could give me her dresses after she's done with them!
I tried so hard to get Easter Egg Roll tickets every year bc of Barry and Michelle. Never was a lucky winner, though. Will not be attending any events at possible future Trump White House, no thank you. Shan't.

That's really inappropriate and not ok. I'm sorry that your boss guilted you
So I'm thinking of trying to give up dairy and possible soy. Between the mucous poops he has silent reflux (mild). But upon further reading he has watery, running eyes and wheezing sounds. And after a week of a lot of cheese and ice cream M has been screaming soon after eating. I thought it was bc he was still hungry and he showed signs of wanting to nurse, but thinking more for comfort. So will give it a try to see if it changes anything.

Fx that it helps. LMK if you need any help or recipes
Today is my first day back to work too. I can't believe S will be 12 weeks tomorrow! I emailed my boss about changing up my schedule to work afternoons/evenings, which would take away so much stress. I'm really hoping she approves it.

Speaking of work, I emailed my boss last week to ask about WFH 3 days a week. I'm not putting DS in daycare. Either I WFH 2-3 days a week and share childcare duties with DH (he WFH most days), or... I quit. Financially it will be tough, but doable, and we're planning on moving south in a few months anyway. My boss couldn't give me an answer yet, but I'm planning on going to visit work tomorrow or Wednesday, so I'm hoping he gives me an update then. 12 weeks isn't even close to long enough 😔.
She's going to the same place that my sister's kids went to. I'm very happy with this because it's simply a wonderful place. The only thing I'm not so thrilled with is that we're only currently in for 4/5 days a week. Gah.
But. The family across the street has a nanny who is looking for work so I might ask her to cover that one extra day. Or my husband will work from home that day. Or I will. Or we'll alternate weeks. I don't know - we'll work it out.
But she's iiiiiiiiin after ten months on a wait list! This is huge for Center City Philadelphia where spots are crazy competitive. It was the first thing on my to-do list back in January when we saw a heart beat.

I'm so tired. These 4-5 MOTN wake ups are killing me! Goodness. Maybe I'll try waking and feeding every 2 hours during the day to see if that possibly helps.
Half a day down and I'm feeling overwhelmed already. And just lacking motivation to work! Ugh!
All three kids woke up at 430am which was not fun. All were crying. To add insult to injury, H and I had planned an early morning "good luck f*ck" for my first day back. That didn't happen due to the pandemonium from all three kids crying at once.
We had DS2's annual allergy testing this morning and he is still allergic to peanuts and tree nuts. Oh well. We have been a peanut free household for 3 years, why stop now?
This did, though, give me an opportunity to check in with our allergist about introducing top 8 foods to DD in a few months. He advised that we introduce nut products before 1 year and in his office so he can check her for reactions. The odds of her NOT having nut allergies when her brothers both do seem slim.

Not a good way to start your first day back! Ugh. I hope tomorrow morning is much calmer

That's not good. Sorry to hear. Is the severity going down at least or can they not measure that?
I went back to work last week Wed - Fri. 3 days of daycare and my baby is already sick with a cold. Mostly congestion but she also has green poop. I'm off today, hopefully she's doing better by tomorrow and we can survive week #2

This has been my conundrum: you can request a Congratulations from the White House within a year of baby being born. So I'm on the fence about requesting one before the Obamas leave, or waiting until, Nate-Silver-willing, Hillary is in. Baby was born the day Hillary accepted the nomination, but I do love the Obamas, and unfortunately didn't know about this with my other 2 who were Obama-era babies.

Ugh that's tough. Hopefully the increase feeds during day help.

Thanks! As a cheese addict day one is already proving to be hard. How did you know your son had an allergy? Did you also eliminate soy or just dairy to start? If DS doesn't have an allergy then something is obviously making him very uncomfortable.
Does mucusy poop always indicate a problem? Or can it just be a normal thing sometimes?
DD3 has had mucous poop since week 1 and so far doesn't seem to have an allergy. I've been told prolactin from mom due to frequent feeds, oversupply, and reflux can all cause mucous poop.

I just did it!! Haha.
I say Obama because he was president when the baby was born.
