I feel a little silly even questioning this... I am currently expecting my second, but I didn't know about a+a with my first. I bought a dream blanket and a set of swaddlers to match, but I'm unsure of their laundry care. The site wasn't much of a help, so I'm hoping for some insight from a BTDT mom.
The site mentioned using their laundry detergent and to not dry if something was stained. Can I use my normal, every day detergent? It's Arm & Hammer for sensitive skin, for what it matters. Also, can I run them through the dryer to dry them or should I hang dry?
Thank you all in advance.
I have the swaddle blankets but not a dream blanket. I'm pretty sure the company suggests line drying. I'm so bad with following laundry directions. I'll line dry really expensive clothes or pants I'm worried will shrink. With baby blankets I just toss them in the dryer! I never noticed any shrinkage. If you're trying to remove a stain, putting them in the dryer will likely set the stain permanently.
I used fragrance free detergent when DD was a baby, but now I use regular detergent (we do use a "natural" detergent that is supposed to be gentle) and dryer sheets. She loves these blankets and still uses them 3 years later.
Agree with mom2boxers about bibs. LO has the dream blanket and I just wash and dry it with everything else. We haven't had any problems with it. We also haven't had staining issues either but I don't let LO have it while he's eating. We haven't had human stains on that specific blanket but on clothes and swaddles, I would lay it out in the sun until the stain lifts and then just wash as normal.

My girls each have a set of swaddlers I wash and dry them along with their clothes. Dd1 still uses hers in bed, I havent noticed any shrinking in 2.5 yrs. Dd2 had a pooplosion a couple weeks ago and it leaked onto the blanket. I threw everything into the laundry sink to soak until I could wash- no stains. We use Tide free.

Thank you! I just wanted to hear from real people.
Did any of you have issues with dust or lint on them? I bought them off amazon, from a + a, but a few people complained that they were so dusty or linty, even after multiple washes/dries, that they couldn't let their littles use them.
I never noticed any dust or lint on the blankets. I got mine about three years ago from Amazon.
Eta: i've heard there are different sizes, that are packaged differently and have different quality. The ones I got are the larger blankets, because I remember reading reviews that they were softer.
I have both the original and the slightly smaller a+a ones made for stores like Target, no dream blanket though. I wash/dry with our normal detergent and normal settings. We've had them for 3+ years and they're fine. Never had the lint issue with either type, but I never line dried them unless I was waiting to see if a stain came out either.
When DS was little, I actually preferred the Target version because he wanted to snuggle them and those ones were smaller. Our Target ones are softer at this point too, but we've used/washed them more than the originals.
We have a dream, some target swaddles, and some 'boutique' (larger) swaddles. I wash them all with our regular detergent (All free and clear), have used a stain treatment on them (Shout free and clear), and dry as normal. but YES on the bibs - make sure you don't wash with velcro!

We have both the swaddles and a couple of dream blankets. I just was and dry them. No special care is needed. Like others said, just avoid velcro. We use ours a ton, and they still look great.
