Luckily our snow didn't last. It was gone by later afternoon and it was just miserable and cold/rainy instead. It's a bit early for snow even for us Canadians haha.

It's raining here. By rain I mean a light drizzle which is enough for people to freak out and cause traffic and be the lead story on the news. We would not do well if this was a place that ever got snow.

That's the crazy part. Despite making a lot of money at the sale, we only sold about 60% of the stuff. There is another consignment sale in March, so I'm going to try to sell the rest of it then since there is a lot of summer maternity clothing and spring/summer baby clothes. Whatever doesn't sell at that point we'll donate.

We also just found a buyer for the changing table on Craigslist. Yeah!

I realized that our consignment sale money will cover tickets to Magic Kingdom for the day. When I told DH that he started to come around to the idea. I think it would be a great use of "fun money". Anyone know how to score cheap disney tickets for a day?

Today was a good day but I'm exhausted. I cooked a bunch of yummy healthy food today- a delicious pot of soup at lunch time that the kids devoured and a chicken and veggie stirfry for dinner. I also went for a run with Abigail in the stroller, did the meal planning and grocery shopping for the week, and went and did a health screening that gets us a discount on our health insurance. It was a very productive day but I'm exhausted now! So much left to do, yet I'm killing time on here....

E will NOT go to sleep. She had 2 shitty naps today, one of which was at 8pm. I was hoping she'd go down for the night but no. So I put her back down at 11p. She keeps crawling off her mattress and hitting a sleeping DH in the face. So I put a pillow barrier between them and now she's screaming.

I planned to build her crib today and start her in it tonight but we had too much going on. Ugh. Go to sleep, child!! It's almost 1a.

At times they discount for FL residents or there's a coupon in coke cans. But otherwise no. Well, if you know a cast member they can get you in for free. Oh and if you stay at a resort on property I believe you get tickets.

Up 5 times last night. Poor kid has 8 teeth all trying to come in at one time. Got my work out in this morning though!

I'm hosting a FB lipsense party today, and I'm really hoping people buy, so I can get free ones because I'm #selfish

I got a new lens for my camera, so I'm hoping to get out and get some cute pics of the kids together for Christmas cards. Not sure what the weather is supposed to be like though, so who knows if I'll be able to.

Decided to make a quilt for my daughter, so I spent all weekend buying fabric and cutting out pieces. Hoping to start the sewing today. I'm really hoping I don't screw it up!

Nobody discounts single day tickets, unfortunately. And most third party authorized sellers actually mark them up over gate price.

You have two options (well, three)

1) endure a timeshare presentation from a non-Disney company.

2) pay full price

3) if you have a friend who works there, they *may* be willing to use their guest pass for you. But they've changed how it's handled in the past couple of years and basically locks *you* into using their guest passes. So if they have family, they'll probably say no.


Now, if FIL goes with you, and he has proof of Florida residency, and he physically walks your tiny humans thru the gates and you go in separately, he could get FL resident tickets for himself and your kids, which would save a bit of money. They don't ask for proof of reisidency for minors under 18


The only other thing I can think of is if there is a nonprofit near you doing a charity auction between now and your trip. Many times they will get a 4 pack of tickets, and depending on how far you live from Disney, I've seen them go for as low as $220 at Charity auctions.

Whatever you do, do NOT purchase them from the shady roadside shacks in Orlando. That's a great way to have a nice conversation with the Osceola county sheriff department.

aydee hey! Disney is awesome! But yes, super expensive! We're season passholders. It's nearly impossible to get discounted tickets. If you buy multi-day tickets you get a discount, but that's about it. Nothing for single day. You don't get tickets if you stay in property, they used to do tickets on your birthday but that ended years ago. Cast members (employees) get a few free tickets a year. They do have further discounted tickets for Florida residents and will ask for a piece of mail, like a utility bill or a bank statement. So technically, you could send a bank statement to your FIL for a month and bring it to Disney as "proof of residency". But that's only for multi-day, too. It usually works out to be around $30 more for a 2 day ticket than a 1 day. This fall they had an offer where if a passholder brought a guest, the guest ticket was discounted to $79. That was the only non resident offer I had ever seen.
