DD got her flu shot today. Has anyone else done this? She doesn't have a fever but is definitely cranky, won't nurse, but wants milk (keeps signing it).
scorpioscuba Ls flu shot is next week (I think). I also think she has a cold again. Sigh. Tomorrow is "dadurday" so hopefully hubs can keep the sicky content.

DD2 just got her second round yesterday. She has a head cold but is crabby. She was pretty crabby have her first round as well.
sjames2015, hope DD1 doesn't throw up. DD has been throwing up over night for the past 3 days. It's awful. Lollipop, sorry people have not been more considerate during your recovery. scorpioscuba, what signs are you teaching DD? I've been trying to teach DS "more" and "eat" but he's not picking it up. Just smiles like a goofball every time I show him. Lol.
We had an ok week, definitely feeling like Friday though! We went to the store and DS's gymnastics class and then the park. We had naps and then we were supposed to go to a Halloween party but DD wanted to stay home. I'm kinda glad because I am wiped out. I basically slept on the couch while DD watched her tablet for an hour. DS took a long nap, which he never does. My mom came over and I went to pick up meds for DD, dry cleaning, and some food that my great aunt made. She insists on making pierogi every Friday and that I come over and pick them up, haha. Now I'm watching the Cubs game.
I feel like a little old lady. I've been in bed before the kids every night this week. Including the days that I actually never got out of bed. I got out of the house for a while today. My BFF and I took the babies to the store after we dropped S off and then had lunch. She brought over homemade butternut squash soup. Unfortunately it was too close to the time I needed to take my drugs and it hurt too much to swallow. I wish they kicked in faster. So I didn't eat much. It sucks too because I'm getting my appetite back.

icequeen if someone wants to make me pierogi I would be happy to pick it up. Hello Friday night dinner. Yum!! @scorpiosciba we had round one of flu shot but kissed round two bc dd3 was sick. We go on Thursday for round two. It went ok the first time. Lollipop I'm glad your friend is looking out for you. Butternut squash soup is the best imo! So no one is puking, but all my kids have fevers. Wth? They act fine, tired maybe, but fine. I feel like we should cancel our Halloween party in Sunday, but I don't want to bc they are looking forward to it and would totally enjoy it! Wwyd?

dizzycooks - I'd wait until tomorrow around lunchtime to decide. Hopefully they aren't feverish anymore!
And we will be heading to MN on Tuesday! I can't believe it's so soon. We have pretty much every minute jam-packed with stuff, so sadly no gtg this time out. We are going to be at an airbnb in WBL for 2 nights, then up in Nisswa for 2 nights, then back in WBL at my SIL's for 2 nights.
As much as I enjoy my ILs, I'd be lying if I said I was *really* looking forward to this trip. It sounds completely and utterly exhausting.
scorpioscuba - dd2 had her first flu shot on Tuesday. I think she was definitely cranky and extra tired/fussy the rest of the day. Maybe try giving her some Advil?
Lollipop - big hugs, lady. (Hahaha. My phone autocorrected to "big jugs" at first. Oops! )
ANYWAAAAYY- I hope you turn the corner on your throat pain soon. I bet your spirits will improve once you get some more food in you. Hang in there.
icequeen - oh man! I've been having a pierogi craving lately! I might try making them soon, but I'm afraid they will not live up to the ones my Ukrainian grandmother used to make.
NellieOleson at this point I have no way to pinpoint what is making me miserable, the pain, the hangry, or the PPD. I *did* get a prescription for antidepressants last week, but in the craziness of scheduling the surgery and finding child care and actually having the surgery and recovering, I haven't had a chance to get it filled. Hopefully we'll do that this weekend. We have a few errands to run. I'm hoping between that and healing up I'll be feeling better soon

icequeen, so far we are working on milk, all done and more. I need to break out the baby signing time videos I had for DS. He loved them and by 15 months he knew upwards of 20 signs. Milk is the first one she has really figured out.
Lollipop, 1 wk down 1 to go! You are halfway there. It is really a sucky recovery so as long as you have help take advantage and don't feel bad for spending time in bed.
I agree on waiting till tomorrow to decide dizzycooks. With DS sometimes he will get a random fever for 24 hours or so. Hopefully it's nothing!
I did give DD Advil before bed and she went down easy and slept for over 2 hours. Rocking her back to sleep. Yes, I'm in the "I've failed at sleep training" club 😔
@nellieolesn, I hope MN isn't as exhausting as it sounds. And I'm jealous. I was born there and it has been forever since I've been back. My cousin got married Jan 30th so um yeah I kinda missed her wedding what with having a baby and all. But seriously?? WHO gets married in January in MN!?!
NellieOleson we are going to Nisswa over thanksgiving. Have fun! The candy shop In town is so fun and there's a new brewery we want to check out. If you're near zorbas try the minnemargarita (sp?) it's blue and it's amazing! You get a bobber with it!

Our official official wedding date is Dec 29. In Germany you have to do a JoP ceremony before you have a church wedding, and it's the JoP one that's considered the legally valid one. The church one is just for show. Our church wedding was in May, but for bureaucratic reasons we had the JoP ceremony 5 months earlier in December. So I guess kind of count me as a winter wedding person, too? Even though we only had like 8 guests at the JoP ceremony and my family wasn't even there?

Oh boy, I really meant no offense!! 😳 I was really bummed I had to miss their wedding but it was the most convenient time for them due to work schedules so I actually really did understand. I think winter weddings are beautiful! It was tough though for the rest of my family here in AZ to travel there in winter and deal with super cold temps without the right winter gear.
We survived the week, with sleep training to boot.
K is doing fairly well with the sleep training, though I feel like she might be lulling us into a false sense of security. I tried it with her first nap today and she was not pleased. Daycare said she's been putting herself down a lot, so I thought, why not? She told us why not.
We just got our expected out of pocket expenses for her tubes next week. Apparently, we've paid so much this year that it should be covered 100%. I'm sure some anesthesiologist will still try to bill us or something, but it was so nice to see a big $0.00 owed that I almost want to frame it. What other expensive procedures can we get done before our deductible starts again?!
We're hanging out with my parents as usual today. They should be here to get us soon. They just had to stop at home Depot first. We're going out to see the progress on the trailer. I feel gross. My throat isn't hurting too terribly right now, but my stomach is upset for some reason

I had to pick him up early yesterday due to a fever. He's been coughing, has a runny nose, and another tooth coming in so not really unexpected.
I've been holding onto the hope this is just teething, but a sore developed on his hand and I've given in to it being hand, foot, and mouth. No sores on the feet, but around his mouth and the diaper area started this morning.
silverspoon, kelltothekell, yep we had it too. It's been going around. Hopefully it's just amild case! scorpioscuba, I think I will start looking up videos too. I never thought of that. NellieOleson, I didn't know you were Ukrainian! DH is Ukrainian, too! I'm 100% Polish. Very similar
We went to Boo at the Zoo today. It was packed but somehow we made it out alive. One of the moms in my MOPS group had passes so we all got in for free. We had to pay for a lot of the activities though. It was lots of fun, especially the carousel. DH is working late tonight but when he gets home, he'll make steaks. Yum. Hopefully the Cubs get their shit together tonight!
I think M might have HFM. I think we're going to have to take her to the walk in clinic tomorrow. Joy.
On the bright side. I had food today! Oatmeal. And I didn't want to die while swallowing it. I'm so excited. I'm still taking it easy and not lifting M much, but I'm feeling a lot better. I didn't even have to get up in the MOTN to take drugs!

I made paint out of corn starch, water, and food coloring. We spread a drop cloth out on the bathroom floor and he "painted" a card for my mom's birthday. Mostly he just liked splashing his hands in the paint.
I followed the recipe, but the consistency never got quite right. It was supposed to be custard like, but it stayed like water.
He seemed to enjoy it though. So far, the rash isn't getting worse and he doesn't have any trouble eating or drinking. I have everything crossed it stays a mild case.

I'm more than 50% Polish. We made a video of my Grammy making homemade pierogis!

Getting lab test results online is so horrible sometimes.
Dd2 saw the GI specialist last week for a follow up, and she ordered another round of stool tests because dd has had increasingly bad diarrhea in addition to her vomiting.
I just woke up and checked the time on my phone and saw the results had been posted. One of the tests was abnormal to the point that it was above the range the test was able to detect. The doctor said if that test had increased we would probably need to do an endoscopy and get a biopsy of her small intestine.
I know there is nothing I can do about it in the middle of the night, but I can't stop googling. Blah. I can't wait until morning so I at least have my H to talk to.
NellieOleson sorry about the motn test results. Will cross my fingers for you that it turns out to be no big deal. Hugs. L woke up at 5:30, and decided it was full blown party time. I wasn't sleeping anyway so we are having a Sunday morning cartoon party. I am watching loony toons and she is playing. Also I do t know what the frigging dogs are getting into. It Harley was up puking again last night. They are worse than babies putting everything in their mouths!
NellieOleson I hope you were able to go back to sleep. Information like that is so worrisome! It sounds like your doc has a plan though and really the goal is answers so your sweet dd can eat more comfortably. kcrkcs we will not be getting another dog for a long time when ours passes. I love her dearly and wanted her terribly, but three kids is slough of a mess and she sheds like a beast. She also barks at everything! I hope they at least puked on something easy to clean.
