My house has been infected with some sort of cold and DD1 was diagnosed with an ear infection so it's been a pretty low key week for us. We've been using the downtime so catch up on some small projects around the house and clean a bit.
Hopefully everyone is feeling better this weekend, we have a birthday party, DD2's 1 year pictures, and hopefully a Halloween party at the fire station.
Nothing much going on here, just trying to keep my head above water with R. I feel like no matter what I do I can't give her enough attention and she's just fussy. It was really bad yesterday, so I'm hoping today is a little better, but it's not seeming to be.
Hopefully if nothing else her naps will be better.
I'm getting really frustrated with DD. She has been really acting up and I'm at my wits end with her. She's been mean to the dog, tried to spit in my face yesterday, Today she hit me when I told her I wasn't going to play with her because she was playing too rough. I'm really hoping all of this aggression is coming from DH not being home and will stop when he gets back Saturday. That's really the only thing that has changed.

Today was DS's school Halloween party, we brought healthy snacks, and DD and I ended up staying to help. It was fun and low key. Tonight our town has a big Halloween trick or treat downtown thing but it may be insane so we might skip. Tomorrow is DD's school Halloween party and all the parents go--at her school, parties are showy events but I didn't sign up to do anything so hopefully it will not be traumatic. She gets out early and we may head to an orchard to get some late-season apple picking and agricultural tourism in. I'm not even sure what this weekend will entail...we'll see how we're feeling...we're over our nasty cold but I still have to blow my hose a lot so I guess still not totally healthy.

Not much going on here. Just every day kind of stuff. Lots of errands/administrative work I've been doing for the household. I've had pretty bad migraines & headaches this week so that has sucked. At the moment, I'm doing OK. Just looking forward to Dh coming home & bedtime. LOL

Hey all! We have had such a busy week. I was discharged today. DD2 was not. We picked up my first daughter and all of us are staying at the Ronald McDonald House. I am so happy we were accepted and they had room for us. DD2 could be in NICU for 5 days or more yet.

That's great news they had room for you penguin129. I remember when ds was in the nicu, they only had a room in the hospital as a sort of lounge. An actual house would have been nice but the closest one was nowhere near where we were. FX she gets out sooner than expected!
Hi all, I am new to this board but not TCF. I am a sahm of 1.5 yo twin boys. I've decided to join this board as you all understand what I go through haha. As always I've had my good days and bad days and most of the time I wish I could atleast work part time. I know it's prob a UO for those who aren't able to stay home.

So... AG has HFM disease. H finally took her to the doctor today because they didn't have any available appointments yesterday. She can't stay at the Ronald McDonald House because it is an infectious disease. H took her home and I'm staying here to be close to HL.
I did not think this is how my first week as a mother of two was going to be at all.

penguin129, I am so sorry about HFM. I hope you do not get it, and if you don't, at least you can be happy that your separate housing helped you avoid it and avoid an unhappy child who has it. We have lots of NICU experience. Main thing is to find out when they are doing rounds and hang out until they come. Listening to the doctors and having them know you are there is very, very helpful and makes the whole thing less confusing. Part b is that of course you want to be there for baths, feedings, skin to skin, but go to your room and take a nap or watch something trashy too. I would 100% avoid DH because you can't go into the NICU if you have any symptoms of anything. If there's another person who can visit you and help you, ask.
Oh penguin129 I'm so sorry. That is the last thing you need now. Hope it's a mild case and she recovers quickly. How's DD2 doing? I've been thinking of you guys all week.

ashiscute HL is doing really well. They took her off IV fluids today and also took any eating restrictions off her. She is free to eat as much as she wants. They want at least 2 oz at each feeding. She is on photo-therapy for jaundice. They think she will be able to go home Sunday. FX!

Glad you were discharged and so glad they had a room for you! I'm sorry DD is still in the hospital but so glad they are taking good care of her! ❤️

That's great news! I hope you are all healthy and together for Halloween!
DH got home today...I'm so happy he's back. We carved our pumpkins tonight. DD wanted horses on them, so I looked online for some stencils DD printed them out. DH did a pretty good job carving them.
sanibel21 how are you doing? I forget when you are due but I feel like it was this month.
Has anyone heard from @mommatotwo or lo95? There are probably others missing too
Thank you for checking on me!! I had DD2 12 days ago. It was a very fast labor and delivery, but everything went well. We are home now all adjusting to everything. DD1 has been great with DD2, but suuuuuuuper challenging in every other aspect of life!! DD2s sleep is not great due to gas and reflux, so we're pretty exhausted. My DH has been home and is going back to work Wednesday. Hopefully I can jump back in here more consistently soon
I'm getting so discouraged with DSs sleep (or lack of it).
He pretty much stopped napping. He wouldn't nap anywhere, on me, crib, etc. so I started doing some nap training/cio which I never wanted to do, but he needs to sleep.
His night time sleep isn't horrible but isn't the best. But when he wakes up now he seems to think it's play time and I have a hard time getting him back in his crib.
I'm keeping my fx that it will all sort itself out eventually. But I might need to do some actual sleep training if I want longer stretches at night 😩

Congratulations!! I hope you can resolve the gas & reflux soon, we had similar issues with DD2.
