Now that we have a separate sleep thread, what will we talk about?! Lol
I'm hoping I make my coffee good today because it sounds yummy.
I have family in from out of town (not staying here). My parents wants us to meet them for dinner at 6:30. I can't decide if I want to go or not. DH won't be able to get there in time so I will have to drive in major traffic with DD and 6:30 is kind of late. My cousin has 5 kids and they will all be there so I feel pathetic not taking my 1 kid...

Coffee sounds good westiemom ... I think I'll go make some ... I'm watching the news for a bit and then I'm going to vote this morning & then I'm having lunch with helloerrbody!
How fun! Totally jealous of the meet-ups birkmmm! I'm off today here! Whoo! I'm currently thoroughly enjoying my coffee while feeding Cam some banana and giving him a sippy cup to try for the first time. Later we're going to go visit the elderly couple I took care of all last year. They'll love to see Cam! Other than that, laundry and snuggling my babe! And we'll pick the toddler up after he gets out of school at 2:45.
Good morning! Our play date yesterday was nice! Her LO is the same weight at 2 months as DS is at 5 months 😁 A butterball and a string bean!
Nothing really planned here today. I've been wanting to get DS some sort of bigger sturdier toys to play with while practicing sitting, like the cube you put the shapes in or something, so maybe I'll do that.
westiemom - I bought caramel yesterday to make hot caramel cider.... I totally put that in my coffee this morning! ☕

I'm counting down to when I don't need to house sit or pet sit anymore. I must be lazy but in this cold weather it's such a pain to bundle DS up to take care of the pets for 5 minutes and then drive back.
It takes longer to get ready to go lol
SIL and fiancé are coming in "sometime after 7" and they "might or might not" want dinner. 🤔🙄
Otherwise just cleaning and binge watching hgtv today I think lol
1. SO happy it's Friday. Buuuutttt....the world series games are in Chi this weekend so it's going to be a hot mess driving into the city. Normally, this wouldn't be a problem. But we are headed out to a friend's house Saturday and staying the night. Sunday's drive back should be fun.
2. I'm leaving work early, going home, taking advantage that the nanny doesn't leave until 5pm and doing the following: taking a mega long shower! I am also going to stop for a pedicure on my way home.
3. I dented our car this morning. Just the plastic bumper part of it when making a U-turn. I am NOT pleased with myself on this one.
4. I am SO HAPPY it's the weekend I can't wait to see the boys in their costumes tomorrow!
I want to go back to bed. Hopefully note that she's rolled over she won't be as fussy today, but given how she woke up I'm not counting on it. At least she's on her own for now and doing alright. 10 minutes is better than she has been doing.

Allie figured out how to log roll across the room. Let the baby proofing begin!
I am with you! Soooo with you. And let the obsessive vacuuming begin.
Mother of the year here: Baby I received a Halloween card in the mail so we let him play with it because it was textured and neat to feel. Well we got distracted and when we looked back he was gnawing on the soggy orange envelope. When some orange chunks showed up in his morning diaper I was hoping it was the carrot he tried a few days ago. In mommy fashion I investigated thoroughly. Paper. And today at daycare I caught him with an entire leaf in his mouth.... 😳 Baby proof!
I was a little upset she started using medium flow nipples and didn't tell me. But TBH, I use them on weekends as well and had not told her!
But I asked her to switch back to slow flow today to see if he prefers the boob a little more. And then of course, right after I say that, the kiddo nurses like a champ before I leave for work!
She's great 98% of the time and the 2% is just me being picky!
How about your live-in? I recall she was being shy and not eating at first?

Yup if it's not out of reach its in his hands and at risk of being in his mouth.
Also he has scooted probably 12 feet while I was in the kitchen loading the dishwasher. Usually he plays quietly (or not so quietly) on his blanket with toys. I came back and he was gone. 😳 He was under the rocking chair on the other side to the room trying to chew on the wood.

DD rolled across the den today and hit her head on the coffee table. She didn't cry or care but it left a little red mark... Mom of the year here.😳

She is okay. There are things that I miss about our old nanny, like her cleaning/tidying/organizing. Our new nanny sucks so bad at that stuff. I am constantly trying to teach her basic things like wash the bottle stuff before all the grimey dishes, make sure DS1 put his clothes in the hamper, put away your own shoes in the closet. Ugh. I mean, it's like living with a 22 year old. Which she is. She also is fairly low energy which our old nanny wasn't. DS1 still hasn't warmed up to her 100% and she has been here 2 months now. But the new nanny is 100x better at discipline, so I feel like we can't have it all and have to pick our battles. At least for now when it's so hard to find good nannies, especially live in.
ETA: She is much less shy now, but still doesn't eat in front of us or on her shifts. Her shifts are often 10 hours so I don't know how she goes that long without eating.

I just made our Disneyland event reservations.. Princess transformation and then character lunch with the princesses! I'm probably more excited about this than DD will be.
I've also ordered her Christmas present - a custom made pink and purple Rapunzel gown to wear when we go.
Who knew that the lady who requested NO PINK and NO PRINCESS stuff when she was born would be spending way too much money to make her kid's day and it will literally be chalk full of pink and princesses. Old me is puking in my own mouth, mom of a 3.5 year old is on cloud 9.

Sorry about the car. In the first year we had our new car I backed into a tractor that some idiot parked behind me while leaving the barn. We still haven't fixed it. In my defense, the tractor isn't usually parked behind the cars and I was looking out for the dogs, so I using the mirrors and wasn't looking out my back window.

Am I the only one who doesn't clean the floor or vacuum excessively? I'd say it's second child syndrome but I was the same with ds1. He used to crawl across the ground at the barn, fell face first into horse poo while doing family pictures at a year. That kid is healthy! Lo has already eaten dog hair and a dead leaf. lol

ellesea, You are not alone. Vacuuming and mopping are not high on my cleaning lists. I am lucky to keep the living areas picked up and laundry and dishes done. It's definitely second child syndrome here.
We have had to enforce a new rule for DD though of only playing with her Shopkins and other small toys in her bedroom since DS is starting to put everything in his mouth. I am pretty obsessive about that.

Nope this girl doesn't do either, ever. If it gets done it is by one of the grandmas on the weekend. I actually have a bobipet for downstairs that cut out my mom's cleaning down there to once a week.

I've not been on lately because I was studying for a big work related exam. G is starting to roll and scoot all over the place, so baby proofing is in our near future. Tomorrow we are going tailgating and to a college game a friend gave us tickets to. The kids' daycare is having a carnival tonight and the elementary school is having one tomorrow. It's going to be a busy weekend, on top of catching up on everything else I've been neglecting.
I've gotten a lot done today! Dishwasher filled/ ran/ emptied and all dirty dishes in it. All of our laundry except for a small load of towels is clean and mostly put away. Cam's 12 month clothes are in the washing machine now so I can start cycling through those. He's big enough that I think some of the smaller sized things will fit him now. I pulled out my box of sweatshirts/ jackets/ scarves for winter and got those all organized, and pulled summer stuff out of my closet and packed them away. I have 3 hours until I need to pick A up and all productivity will stop lol

DS1 rarely stuck things in his mouth that weren't supposed to go there, so I could be lax about it. DS2 is the opposite. I mainly worry about choking hazard size items, especially since DS1 leaves tiny legos around. We have a robot vacuum now and I'm trying to use it more but it's a pita to get all the toys and things off the floor.
ellesea, our kitchen gets vacuumed nightly. Because we have a roomba.
The rest of the house gets swiffered and rugs vacuumed weekly. Because we pay a house cleaner.
The ONLY reason I'd want it done more often is because I hate how dirty the bottoms of my feet get walking around in our house. We never had that problem when we had carpet. (We are only tile/hardwoods now)
