2) I have pneumonia and have been sick for 2 1/2 weeks now. The first week was just a cold we all had. Everyone else got better and somehow I got pneumonia.
3) thankfully L has been helping more with the kids at night so I can sleep more but I still have to feed the baby at least once in middle of night. L has been super stressed though from me needing her to help. And the kids are so used to me doing a lot of the stuff. It's scary how dependent they are on me.
4) I'm so done with breastfeeding right now. I know I'll miss it but I think I'm ready to wean.
5) I just don't have the energy to start the process. I and L have tried giving E a bottle and she is more resistant. She was taking them better just a few weeks ago.
6) she literally does a little sit up away from the bottle and towards my boob when I try giving her a bottle 😀.
7) I may need L to try harder for me since she isn't breastfeeding her.
8) our marriage hasn't been doing so well. It seemed better after baby was born but we are sort of back in a rut.
9) it wouldn't be so bad if we didn't fight so much. We try not to in front of the kids but it happens which drives me crazy.
10) I'll make sure my next post isn't so depressing. Really things overall are good. I'm sure all will be much better after I'm not sick. Thank goodness the kiddos aren't sick.
1. Work has been insane lately. Nothing bad has happened, but I feel like I have 1001 things being at me and everyone feels their thing is urgent. (sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.)
2. I need to make a to do list. My undiagnosed ADD isn't helping.
3. My fingernail ripped off today. Not all of it, but below the nailbed and it is f'ing painful. Thank you hand, foot, mouth for the gift that keeps on giving.
4. A friend of mine is separated from her husband and I hate the way he treats their son. It infuriates me and breaks my heart for the kid. My friend doesn't know what to do. It isn't CPS level stuff - just insanely crappy parenting.
5. We TOTed with friends and their kids last night. It was fun. I enjoy having neighborhood friends. We didn't have that until this summer when G joined the swim team and we met tons of ppl.
6. L is out tonight for work. I managed to make dinner, get homework done, get a couple of loads of laundry done and put away, pick up the house from last nights improptu pre-TOTing party at our house, and still have the kids in bed early to read. Go me.
7. The changing tide on this election is making a nervous wreck. OMG. I am going to be a disaster Tuesday night.
8. I need to find a good book to read. I read voraciously...in spurts.
9. I am not reading the parent/child book club book this month. It is Big Nate - which is a series of random comics. Like reading 200 pages of Bazooka gum comics. I read half of it and gave up. It was awful. The kids thought it was hysterical. Evidently, I am old.
10.My finger is killing me. I am going to find some trash on tv to watch until L gets home.
1. mahler5, I'm so sorry you are sick. I hope that you feel better soon!
2. 2brides, I am sufficiently terrified of HFM after hearing your awful experience!
3. We are going to potty train O over the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm reading the Oh Crap potty training book. After reading it, I know that she was ready much earlier. Oh well, hopefully it goes well.
4. O's swim class was cancelled Monday due to Halloween. I took her to the pool yesterday instead. We had the pool practically to ourselves and she did an awesome job.
5. I'm expecting an offer from a job I interviewed for last week. I think I am paralyzed with fear about leaving and about staying. I haven't been happy in my current job for quite awhile. The problem is I like the work I just can't deal with the other stuff at this company. There are lots of other things to consider too.
6. I looked up my results from the race on Saturday and I won my AG! Haha. That's what happens when you are the youngest in your age group.
7. I'm doing a new diet (Clean Diet) and I've lost 3# in 2 days. I realize that is probably all water but I'm really hoping to fix myself after struggling for over 2 years now. I'm actually hoping to be healthy. The other symptoms are harder to track so I'm still processing if those are improving.
8. I feel like I am missing out on S's life right now. I don't get much time to spend with her since when I get home in the afternoon it's better for me to take O out and give her some individual attention. In the evenings, S is still cluster feeding most nights so she's attached to M.
9. I have never seen Hocus Pocus and I wanted to watch it on Halloween but maybe we will watch it this weekend since I'm not working. (this moving came out in 1993, that made me feel REALLY old).
10. My ipad is too old to get the new iOS and now my overdrive app won't update, so I have 2 ebooks that I have been waiting for and now I can't figure out how to get them to download. I have so much frustration with the library system here. When I was in Boston, it was awesome. I miss that.
1. mahler5 sorry you're so sick and things have been rocky with L. I hope you and everything gets better soon!
2. 2brides I am super impressed by your #6!!! Lol that would never happen in my house even without kids lol.
3. I'm up super early for my NIPT blood draw. I wish it was a more exciting appointment.
4. I might try to convince the midwives to check me with the doppler real quick this morning. I don't know why but I've just been panicking these last couple days that something is wrong. The only tiny basis I have is that some of my symptoms have let up which I know happens near the 2nd trimester but I was only 10 weeks... I should be grateful that most food is appealing again!
5. Also we're supposed to tell my in-laws this Saturday and that just makes me nervous since we have the NT scan next week and I'd rather wait until after that. But we're going to a Christmas fair with my MIL on Saturday that will have tons of cute baby stuff so DW thought it would be too hard with her not knowing.
6. My parents keep trying to screw up the big reveal to them. I wanted to have dinner with them next week either Wed, Thur, or Fri. But my mother has some friend coming to stay for like 2 weeks and wouldn't agree to do just a family dinner without this random person we've never met!! Finally she agreed that by Sunday she could ditch the woman for a family dinner lol.
7. Figured this one got long so I'd break it up... Then my dad tried to change the restaurant, which would screw up how we're announcing. We're supposed to go out for Chinese food and we're getting them custom chopsticks that will be engraved on the ends. I want to sneak them on their place setting so when they go to use them they see. This won't work if we don't have Chinese food! Haha
8. Today will be my most relaxing day this week. I'll be home most of the day doing hw then PT and yoga later. So happy cause yesterday was exhausting!!
9. I've gained a little too much weight first trimester and it's starting to stress me out.

Soooo awesome update! Went in for my NIPT and asked the mw if they could possibly do a quick doppler check since I've been so nervous. Took a minute but then it was there! Like 150-160bpm!!! Feeling so relieved!

kona, congrats on winning your AG! That's always a good feeling!
rosesquared, can't believe you're almost at the end of the first trimester. Time flies! I had a jump in weight gain my first trimester but then things slowed down and I gained a normal range.
mahler5, we've missed you! Sorry you've been so sick.
1. I can't believe the election is next week. I wonder what will happen.....
2. CET's mom comes tomorrow and she'll be here until Monday. That means I should clean and go to the grocery store. M is at this stage where she likes to see me and prefers it if we're playing together. Makes cleaning and getting things done around the house hard.
3. Most mornings M likes to sleep in. Last night she slept until 5:20! ate then slept until 7:20 and now she's nursing, dozing, and we're cuddling. She enjoys a slow morning.
4. I need to pump so we can practice drinking from a bottle. But it feels like I don't have much time in the day where we're not together that I don't want to fill that time pumping. It's silly. I just need to do it.
5. I made vegetarian pumpkin chili and cornbread for dinner on Halloween and it was perfect. Quick and easy. I left it on the stove and heated it up before serving. Topped with some shredded cheddar cheese. I was worried our guests wouldn't like it but they had seconds! Side note: found a new cornbread recipe that's not too dense and has a simple ingredient list.

6. Halloween was fun! M LOVES a good party, or any guests at all really. We had another family over who's baby is 8 months & she was a ham all night- playing, laughing, climbing around. If it had just been us, she would have gotten fussy half way through dinner.
7. The next two weekends are busy with my mom in town this weekend, and we're going to Chicago next weekend. I still need to finish up the itinerary for Chicago. Maybe today.
8. I think I know what we're doing pretty much every weekend until the new year. This is pretty standard for us.
9. The saga of what to do career-wise continues. There are options, it just feels impossible to know what the right ones are.
10. I need this election to be over, like now. I need to stop refreshing the fivethirtyeight like 20 times a day.

1. Re: career... I love mine but wish I could go into private practice to give me more flexibility to be home with Is. It's too risky financially though.
2. My passive aggressive mother is visiting today... lord help me.
3. H. is strongly considering not taking the 3 months parental leave she initially thought. She claims it's because of money but I suspect she just doesn't want to.
4. The weather is perfect right now... I want this to last. Perfect weather for hiking, etc.
5. My nephew has a baby! That's so weird. They're out east and are visiting us Sunday.
6. H's parents visit Saturday so it'll be a busy weekend.
7. Took Is to her first hockey game on the weekend. She slept through the second period, it was perfect.
8. I definitely still need to schedule more "me" time. H came home from hockey last night and promptly sat down and went on her phone... I had to ask her to wash the bottles. I wish I didn't have to ask.
9. I feel like if I went out on my own more it would force her to problem solve more with Is/bond/respect my days and all I do and why she should help out more.
10. Sorry about all the relationship rants! Hope everyone is having a good week!
bexincanada, I say it all the time and even feel guilty sometimes, but baby and house things really can make for some busy days. When do you go back to work?

If H. takes time beginning of March, if not, end of May. I am so grateful for the time even on hard days... it's more just wanting recognition. And the need to be better at carving out adult time.
