Let's talk about maternity clothes

To me, maternity clothes are the silver lining to the 9 months of being nauseous and sober. I just wish they weren't so expensive considering the short period of time they are useful.

I have no problem wearing maternity clothes. I have friends who tried to wear their normal clothes as long as possible like it was a sport. Screw that. I want to be comfortable. I think I have clothes mostly covered from last time but will probably need to buy more winter stuff this time.

I gave my maternity clothes to my SIL. She's due in January. I was hoping to get pregnant at the time, but I thought I wouldn't need them until after she had her baby, since last time I didn't really wear maternity clothes until around 20 weeks. But this bloat is unreal. I am so ready for maternity leggings.

I actually lost 30 pounds since late March and I have gone down a few dress sizes. I think I will be able to work with my larger sizes as my waist increases, but I plan to gain as little weight as possible. I actually told my personal trainer today (my first non-husband tell hahaha) and he thinks that with my current lean body mass and athletic ability I should be able to maintain my weight and just have a re-distribution of weight.

In my last pregnancy, Motherhood and GAP kept having amazing boxing day sales so I bought a bunch in first-tri. I have all that stuff but I dont think it will fit until I am like 9 months. It was all before I lost 30 pounds... 

Canadians from my experience January has crazy sales on the GAP and Motherhood websites. Apparently Oldnavy is going to make Maternity available on line soon too! Maternity shopping is alllll about on-line and consignment shopping.

I love my maternity jeans and wore them for like a year after DD was born, so you can probably guess my vote!

I am 15lb less than I was when I got pregnant for the first time so I'm hoping I'll be able to use my regular clothes as much as possible because money. I gave my other maternity clothes to my cousin but they are all winter. I'm thinking when I really need new clothes I could possibly get away with summer loose clothing like maxi skirts and dresses.

I will need some jeans/pants for the winter but I can get away with stretchy and loose fitting stuff for winter and hopefully will make it with flowy sundresses and the maternity shirts from last time for may/June/July. My jeans are already held on by a hair tie because this bloat is ridiculous and it hurts by the end of the day to button them. I hated the maternity jeans I had last time...

I loathe maternity pants, I have no butt so they don't stay up and I constantly feel like I'm hiking them up all the time.

Maternity shirts are my jam, tho. I love them so much.

I do plan on purchasing some maternity underwear this time around which I didn't do last time and I was seriously struggling in the last few weeks.

I have a pair of leggings and I just scored a pair of cute jeans on clearance at Kohls for $4!! I'll probably do some major damage in the next few weeks. There's a Motherhood Maternity Outlet about 35 minutes from here so I'm going to make a trip next week or the week after. I can't wear regular pants/leggings because the tight waistbands cause cramps.

I'm borrowing some pieces from some mom friends that recently had babies, and I'll be purchasing a few things from H & M, Kohl's, & Target. I'll check out the consignment store as well. I have exactly one pair of leggings and one dress from last time, because I was able to wear my regular clothing almost the entire pregnancy, and that won't be the case this time, because I've gained a lot of weight.

The bloat is real over here, so I can't wait to bust out maternity clothes, mostly pants.

I'm overweight, but left the delivery room 32lbs less than my prepregnancy weight. I have gained all of that back unfortunately. So my clothes weren't fitting the greatest before getting pregnant again.

Hoping I lose during pregnancy again!

Well I splurged today. Our Macy's has a motherhood maternity, and they were having a HUGE sale. I got two pairs of leggings, jeans, two sweaters, a tank top, a long sleeve top, a tunic, and a super adorable Jessica Simpson dress for $150!!! Yay for all the comfy things!

I lived in maternity dresses and leggings when I was pregnant with DS, but the timing was completely different so I'm going to need to asses my stash and see what else I need.

I just realized I need to buy a coat that will support my growing belly.

I needed to buy a new coat in the first place so I guess I'll get a more fitted one next year. Lol

My last pregnancy I was due in May, and I was able to get through the winter with my regular coats, I just couldn't always zip them up. I wore a lot of scarves to cover the part that the coat didn't cover. That's my plan again this year because I just don't spend that much time outside in the cold while I'm pregnant. I only need something to get me from the car to the door at work, which is like 20 feet.

I bet you could find a like new maternity coat. I'm sure they don't get a whole lot of use. Last time I just left my coat unzipped and wore layers and scarves but DS was born in December so I didn't get the worst part of winter. I may have to spend time outside this year though with a 2 year old.

+1 ... I had DD in May and was able to get through the winter with my normal coat. Towards the end of the winter I couldn't zip it. I could see this being an issue with having LOs though if you have to be outside playing with them.

I doubt we will be outside too much in the cold, but I do want DS to get some fresh air this winter.
