Since it seems like there are a lot of bathroom renos going on here, I need advice. We're redoing the nursery bathroom and I have no clue how long it will take. We're replacing the flooring, vanities and countertops, and the current shower for a bath/shower combo. We aren't actually changing the current layout and shouldn't need to change the plumbing at all. How long do y'all think it'll take from starting work to finish? And by we I mean a contractor and team, I'm completely incapable of anything DIY
I'm not a good one to tell you because my husband and uncle are working on this just on weekends so it's taking FOREVER. When a contractor did our other bathroom he said it would take a couple of weeks and I think if he'd worked consistently that would have been a realistic estimate. We basically did what you're doing. We did a lot of tile on the walls though that took some time. Good luck!

Got some more baby shopping done. Carters sheets were 15% off at BRU this weekend and target was giving $10 gift cards for $50 spent in diapers. Next weekend I'll clothes shop since I'll be at the outlet mall. I can hardly contain my excitement.

ugaqueencity A friend redid her bathroom at a similar level to what you're describing. Once the work got underway I think it was a matter of weeks, but the contractor started 6 weeks late because of delays on other projects.
ugaqueencity I don't think that should take more than a few weeks assuming nothing is on back order and the contractor can devote people to it.
I would imagine the demo could get done in one day. Our entire roof was torn off and the new walls were up in a 10 hour work day with a team of guys from our contractor.
Are they doing the painting too? Tub etc will go in, about a day to lay tile and then paint. (This is all based on how quickly things went in for our new addition)
I don't think I ever told you guys that we built a full second story on our house 1.5 years ago. We added a mudroom, master bed/bath/walk in closet, moved laundry up plus added 2 more bedrooms and a bath all upstairs. We essentially doubled the size of our house. It took 4 months

Curious - for something like this did you/can you just add to your home loan (that is, if you have one).
H and I scheme about building a 2 car garage with a studio apartment above it to use as an income property/studio space, but don't know where to begin. We'll probably put it off until we are in a better spot financially, but it's fun to dream about!
We've had a pretty good day. Got some shopping done for the baby and now the crib/bedding is complete! I'm hoping we'll come in under budget for the clothes we need and I'll be able to get the newborn diapers I'm eyeing. That would be awesome.
I'd totally AW the crib but I still can't post pictures.
Hugs obi. I hope you can find a way to hang in there until you can meet with your OB. It sucks you have to wait so long.
I hate how much stuff we have. How is there always so much stuff everywhere? I can't keep up with it all! We try to be pretty minimalist and rarely buy things for ourselves or toys for DS but somehow it just seems to keep multiplying anyway. I'm really tempted to do a major purge when we move.
I've had no trouble until recently. I'm chopping it up to a fluke.
And not using tinypic right? They banned it because of recycled urls turning up as porn. Lol.
I use imgur or if I'm feeling lazy I don't host it and just use the button on tapatalk.
I usually use the browser. I know about the tinypic situation and I haven't used that site in a million years. I'll play around one day and get it going again. This week's HDBD was the only time I've ever had trouble. Weird.
On a side note, my tittis are HUGE. I don't really want to buy a menagerie of new bras over the next weeks but...we're pushing our limits with this one.

We did a construction loan and paid interest only during the project. Then when it was done we did a whole new re-finance on a 30 year. If you have enough equity you could do it via a home equity line of credit or loan.
@callmekd sorry about those ankles With those twinsies it's no wonder! Would the doc recommend compression socks? Would that be good or bad?
Thanks! I've been wearing compression socks except for the last 2 days because it's been hot. Its just another one of those lovely pregnancy things I have to suck up and deal with.

And the balance between "drink more water, it'll help!" and "if I drink any more water I'm going to need to just wear a diaper because I'm peeing every ten minutes" is a hard one to find.
Sorry about the cankles. Heat always did me bad for cankles last time around. Here's hoping you'll get some cooler weather and relief!

Plus add having a baby who likes to sit on the bladder and I'm going every 5 min! Haha
