Guys. This is so hard. My students...they are scared and confused. They don't understand.
I haven't posted on here in a while but I do want to echo this from a high school standpoint. Today was hard. Many students were crying. Too many were worried about their families getting deported. It was a depressing day.
rvamama i hope you can get some sleep tonight! Is F's ear still bothering her?
No, I think we've spiraled into the dark abyss of sleeping woes.
I know I need to sleep train her again, I just haven't decided to start!
Every night when she wakes, whether it be at 11 pm or 3 am, I bring her into bed and nurse her, we fall back to sleep. If is earlier in the night we nurse a couple times. Or all night.
Well, I unfriended a lot of uneducated white people last night.
Me too! I've decided that staying quiet or pretending that I'm okay with this is as bad as actually being okay with it.
Yep. And people have been assholes about it, but this isn't a normal election. This isn't just whining over the losing side. If Mcain had been running against Clinton and won, totally different story. But millions of people went out and said "racism is okay. Misogyny is okay. Bullying is okay. Hate and intolerance and promoting violence is fine. As long as you promise to put more money in my pocket, I don't give a fuck about morals." That is the issue. That's not the country that I was taught to believe in. And it's a horrible shame that we got confirmation that America is for white, Christian, males more than it's for anyone else. I'm sad and angry, but this country has enough checks and balances that he can't destroy it by midterms.
