DD got the memo late and had a 5 month sleep regression not a four month one. She started waking up multiple times and her naps became crappy cat naps. A week ago I decided I had enough and took the paci away at night and decided to sleep train. I make sure she is awake when I put her in the crib. The first night she fussed for about 20 minutes while I intermittently patted her back. The second night only took 8 minutes and by the third no fussing 🙌🏻 Naps are improving too so I'm happy.

We had to sleep train also. I know it's not a popular opinion, but I was losing my mind and spending hours a day bouncing her. She is still a crappy napper, but she happily puts herself to sleep in her crib now. It wasn't so bad, either. Now I get her whenever she cries because I know it means she needs something.
I need to do something asap. Lo is waking up 2-3 times a night then for the day at 5:30. I've been bringing him into bed at the 2-3am wake up. We were having him do his first stretch of sleep 6:30/7-9 in the swing but we switched to crib on Friday. I'm happy we kicked one bad habit but now we need to kick a few more.
One thing that is really bothering me is that ds2 doesn't have his own room. His crib is in our room so I have to be quiet as a mouse once we put him down. The boys will share a room once ds2 is consistently sttn. Anyone else with two sharing rooms?
mladerri, ours share a room, but obviously a different situation since they're used to each other's noises for the most part. I still find myself going in right when they fuss to replace pacifiers in the motn so that they don't get super pissed and wake the other. I know I'll have to quit that eventually.
DS sleeps well, but he nurses to sleep. I know they say to put them down drowsy, but I can't figure out how to keep him awake. I don't really mind though-he doesn't usually wake up for the first time until 4:30/5.
DD is sleeping ok, usually 1-2 (rarely 3) wake ups to eat but goes right back down. She's still in a bassinet in our room, I don't feel ready to move her to her crib yet. Biggest struggle right now is weaning from the swaddle. She still has a startle reflex so her sleep is 1000x better swaddled, but I know we can't keep it up forever. Right now she only rolls front to back, so I'm still swaddling her at night because, sleep.
The baby goes to bed at 7:30 and usually wakes up once between 3:30 and 4:30. I really wish he could just hold out for about 1 more hour since I get up for work a little after 5. I probably could just give him a pacifier but if I'm up anyways I might as well feed him.
He nurses to sleep about 90% of the time. I'm not worried about it as a bad habit. He can put himself to sleep if I have the mobile going. Plus DS1 nursed to sleep until he was like 1 and then had no problems putting himself to sleep after that.
We still swaddle. Actually, double swaddle. Swaddle-me and then woombie. I know we have to wean because he just started rolling back to tummy. But his reflex is still there and he wakes himself up when he starts sucking on his hands. I think I might try a zipadee zip or baby merlin's magic sleepsuit. I don't know yet. I never had to do this with DS1. He was done with the swaddle around 2 months (I think) and was happy to roll to his belly to sleep.
Well sleep went to shit. She goes in her crib between 7-730 and sleeps there until 10? Last night we brought her to bed with us and she slept through the night. So I know she can do it. But between her freaking hands and I think her reflux. Napping still sucks. Right now she is in my arms. But quiet. All I know is is that we need a better schedule.
We are so so on sleep. She falls asleep around 8-9 but then she wakes up a lot between then and midnight. Then we get a stretch usually until 4-5 and then eats. As soon as she lays down she rolls to her side or stomach. Her issue is that she can't get belly to back yet so she just cries if she wants a new position. She is getting over a cold and has been waking A LOT the past week. I even brought her to bed with us and she still didn't sleep so I know it was bothering her.
mladerri, We all share a room in our apartment. We have been keeping the baby out in the living room with us until the toddler falls asleep and then move her back. I jump as soon as the baby makes a peep because I'm terrified of waking the toddler. The reality is that I think she only wakes her if it's already closer to morning 5am or later. If it's truly middle of the night it doesn't seem to bother the toddler. Now when the toddler wakes up and has a fit it almost always wakes the baby. This is why we don't put them to bed together because it usually takes the toddler a while to go to sleep and she has to call for us no less than 10 times. Last night I needed to get things done so I put the sleeping baby in the crib and told the toddler she had to be quiet and not wake her sister. That doesn't usually work, but last night it did.
For those who aren't swaddling anymore- what do you put your littles to sleep in. O has been waking up with extra cold hands and feet. I know the core is the area of major concern; but I can't help but obsess over how cold his little hands and feet get.

Some nights I put him in socks, a long sleeve onesie, fleece pajamas and two fleece sleep sacks. Poor little guy's hands are always ice cold, and his arms are cool to the touch too. Why no one makes long sleeve sleep sacks is beyond me. I know Carter's has done, but they are 0-9 months, and he is too long for them.

We've been putting them in a short sleeve onesie and socks under either a fleece long-sleeve sleep sack or a fleece sleeper. That worked well for the fall transition, but I noticed this morning that their legs were cool, so I may need to step it up. Hands are almost always cold because they chew on them throughout the night.

The Merlin's Magic Sleep Suit is made for this startle reflex situation, imo. Lifesaver with DD.

We do a sleep sack, with footie pjs or socks and a onesie underneath, depending on that night's weather. This setup totally helps with the feet, but his hands are still cold
We started sleep training two weeks ago. Some nights are still better than others, but overall I feel like I have my life back for at least a couple hours a day! Going back to work with no regular bedtime was not working. Naps are not great but improving slowly. We aren't doing CIO with naps. Maybe we will eventually, as he is so much happier and goes down so much more easily at night when he isn't overtired. Daylight savings threw us off for awhile but he seems to have adjusted and is sleeping a little later for his dad in the morning after I leave for work. Right now we have a decent 8pm-4am stretch going most nights, but there are plenty of exceptions
Sleep sucks now. Sleep has left the building. I think I will sleep train soon but he's still in our room. Can I sleep train if he's still in our room? They recommend room sharing for SIDS until one now so how do you sleep train?

DD has been in her room in her crib since about 6 weeks. She was sleeping like crap in our room in the bassinet. One night right after I finished feeding her my son woke up and had put her in the crib to deal with him. She feel asleep and slept all night so I just went with it. Best decision!
We need to ditch the swaddle. I have to fight to get it on but then he sleeps good in it for most of the night. I am struggling with the decision on what swaddle-transition product to get - the zipadee zip or Merlin's sleep suit. I wish I could find used ones so I wouldn't feel bad if one didn't work.

Download the kidizen app, it's a kids resale app. I saw a Merlin suit on there.

We have both... the Merlin suit was borrowed from a friend and I just bought the zipadee zip. DD found the Merlin suit super hot... we would crank the A/C until DH and I were freezing and she would wake up sweaty and angry. The zip works much better for us. Right now we only use it for naps cause she still sleeps in the swaddle at night, but once she starts rolling we will probably use it full time.

Alright, I'm doing it tonight. I'm dropping the swaddle and putting him in his own room in the crib. I'm also going to let him fuss for 3 minutes before I go get him during the night in hopes that he starts to learn to go back to sleep on his own. Praying this helps some. He was such a good sleeper until I went back to work.
