Here's our progress so far. Still need wall art, make a mobile, get an ottoman, etc. lots to do but I love that it's starting to look like a baby room. Theme=teal and yellow and woodland animals.
Oops had to edit out the picture with DHs name on it. Here's a different one instead.

DD is currently in the nursery which we will leave much the same for baby- green walls, crib, furniture, etc. We'll probably just add some yellow or gray curtains and some baby-ish art and call it a day.
We're turning the spare room into DD's big girl room and that will be our big project. We're thinking purple and teal or blue for colors- purple is her favorite. Target has some cute Frozen canvases for wall art which I'm thinking of putting up. Since our nursery isn't much of a project, I might share our big girl room when we get to work on it so I don't feel left out of the house updating part of all this! We'll start working on her room after her birthday party in January.

We still need to make some headway in the nursery, but I was kind of waiting until after the anatomy scan to go full on with it. I have this cute cupboard dresser thing from when I was a kid that my parents brought out of storage for me, it's so cute! Then I'm making a quiet book with felt.
The room isn't emptied out from the guys working on it but here's some pics.
Wall color is behr pencil sketch
One of the cribs is together
Closet has a cube shelf for storage
Hoping this week, he will get his crap out, then I will put the other crib, changing table/dresser together and put the rocker in. Should be mostly ready after Thanksgiving I think.

Thanks mosdubnic1231 between myself and my mom this baby has a small herd of dragons waiting for him/her haha. The same thing happened with DD except elephants.
DS2 will get the same stuff DS1 had- monkeys. I can't paint since renting so I buy those wall decals. I think this time I may go and get a more jungle type themes one instead of just monkeys but I haven't decided. It'll probably be just monkeys again since that's what his mobile and other stuff are. DS1 is in his toddler room and that's all space related.
Not sure I will be doing much for this baby. Dd we painted her room a pretty sage color and did some wall decals. This way when she is older we can add touches to fit her personality. Since she currently co-sleeps with us, and the baby will sleep in a pack n play for awhile in our room, it's not worth the effort.
Last time the crib started out in her room and then ended up in our room. So I'm not going to try and plan too much.

I bought two cribs. I will have one in our room to match our bedroom set for nights and one downstairs on her nursery that will likely only be used for day and babysitters.

We used the pack n play in our room and a crib in his. We'll do the same this time

I bought two rock n plays for an amazing deal. So they MIGHT sleep in those in our room at first? Otherwise I'll have H bring one of the cribs in our room and the twins will share until they start rolling and then we'll move them into their room.

I did a pack & play in our room to start with DD but that stopped when I woke up at 3 AM and saw the cat standing in it with her when she was 10 weeks old. We can't lock the cat out of our room because he'll howl and scratch outside the door, but he doesn't mind if the doors to the spare rooms are closed. Because I'm nervous about the cat, I might start the baby in his or her own room from the start.
I feel kind of guilty! We are also not doing anything for this babe! We only have two bedrooms on our top floor so we will need to move eventually (or renovate - I really love this house so I'm starting to wonder if it's possible to gut the whole house before April). But honestly, G co-slept for a year so I don't see the rush.
Totally random side note, I've seen several studies come out lately encouraging parents to keep babies in the parents room for the entire FIRST YEAR.
I don't know how I feel about that. DD went to her room at 2 months old. She was in a basinet in our room prior to that.
ourcrazynavylife Our Dr recommended at least six months when G was born, we ended up doing a year. They changed the recommendation to a year in Canada too. The recommendations are great and all but I think you really have to find what works for your family!

Is this safe? Did someone post something about dangers of babies sleeping in the RnP?

It's fine. PNPs are fine. Swings are fine. The big issue is them getting flat heads because of being on their backs all the time. Our PNP came with a bassinet cuddle cove thingy that he slept in until he was fully transitioned for night time
Car seats are a different issue due to angles and such.
DS took all naps in his swing until 8-9 months when we were finally able to transition him to his crib for naps, even though he was in the crib for night time completely by 1-2 months (we did the transition slow- first down was crib, the rest in our room and slowly cut back on the ones in our room)
