I had my 34 week appointment today and I knew it was going to be a growth ultrasound and that's exactly what it was. My OB scheduled me for 1 NST next week and 2 the following week. I feel like there should he more to check? Like my cervix? Something? I know everyone's Dr is gonna be different but what have others experiences been for appts after 34 weeks?
I got a cervix check every week from 32 weeks on. I had growth ultrasounds, but never a NST. I think all OBs handle twins differently.
Did they check your cervix by way of ultrasound or...how shall I say it...manually? Lol I'm kind of surprised they haven't checked my cervix in a couple weeks since it was causing some preterm labor concerns beginning around 28 weeks.

I'm not that far along but because of how high risk my pregnancy is Im starting cervix checks at my next appt. The MFM is doing it via ultrasound. The less they poke or mess with your cervix the better.
Starting about 33 weeks, I had twice a week appointments with ultrasounds at every appointment, some of which were growth scans. I don't remember them checking my cervix at that point, but they were more worried about discordance and pre-e.
At 33 weeks, I had an ultrasound every week (every 2nd or 3rd took measurements, they were basically to check fluid levels and to make sure there was no distress). And I had NSTs twice a week, every week. I was never manually checked for my cervix. I assume that was checked via ultrasound, though I don't recall anyone specifically discussing it with me. And, of course, every appointment checked my urine and blood pressure for signs of preeclampsia.
Yeah, they never checked my cervix manually either until there seemed to be a risk of pre-e. I know they generally kept tabs on that through the ultrasounds, but they stopped doing even those checks on me around week 20-something. I think the idea is that (as a PP mentioned), the less they mess with that area later in the pregnancy, the better. I also never had NSTs; just weekly ultrasounds toward the end.
Does the growth u/s not measure your cervix? I have no idea.
I don't believe so? They've always used the vag cam to check my cervix previously.
They checked mine today via belly u/s and got an accurate measurement. They did end up checking it vaginally but that just confirmed the measurement. So it's possible

Mine did NSTs and amniotic fluid checks starting at 36 weeks. We never made it to any internal cervix checking because we found out baby boy had no fluid at my first NST.

Pretty much this, except I had NSTs only once a week, but ended up in the hospital for a 24hr monitoring period every other week due to high bp or a questionable urine test (but never both at the same time!)

My twins were di/di, and aside from carrying multiples, I was low-risk. I had growth scans at 32 and 36 weeks. I had midwife visits at 34 weeks and would have had another one at 37 weeks, but no cervix checks at these, they just tested urine, checked BP, and felt babies' position and heart rates. I didn't have a NST until the day I went in for my induction, and not one check on my cervix until that day either. I think it definitely varies from doctor to doctor.

They can only do this without the vaginal ultrasound for a while. There comes a time when the babies will start interfering with accurate measurements via belly ultrasound.

I've had monthly cervix checks via transvaginal u/s from the beginning. At 32 weeks we'll actually stop since my doctor says after that they get unreliable due to things changing faster.
I've offset the monthly transvaginal checked with regular u/s for growth checks. Not sure how long those will go since at 32 weeks I'll start my 2x a week NST. Ugh! Not looking forward to those!

Thanks for all the input! I think I'm just at the point where I want these babies out and am really struggling with not knowing when they'll come. I'm a bit of a control freak and I obviously have no control over this. Real world problems...lol

You're getting so close! I still can't believe that I went to a 36w appointment and never came home. They will have their own plans.
I had my last growth scan at 34 weeks then just biophysical profile ultrasounds every week until the day before I was induced at 37 weeks. I didn't have any cervix checks by trans vaginal ultrasounds after 28 weeks and then my OB checked me at 36 weeks to make sure I was a good candidate based on Bishop's Score for induction/vaginal delivery. So no cervix checks by ultrasound or OB internal between weeks 28-36.
