Shift your energy from negative to positive. Do something kind, for yourself or others. Unplug and meditate, be quiet, try to clear your head by exercising or walking or doing an activity you need to concentrate on.
We can't be constantly outraged or we'll burn out. That's why self-care is so important. We need to fill up our own cup before we can pour anything out for anyone else.

I've taken a break from Facebook in an effort to use the time to take more concrete action—signing up with local groups, working out donations, contacting people etc. It's helped immeasurably.
