The twins are half baked tomorrow! I can't even believe it. I'm having some serious anxiety tho because I don't think I've felt much movement if any. Every now and then I get a poking or pinching sensation that is either Baby or gas. But nothing consistent or "wow that's a baby". I don't think my anxiety will ever give up. One of the many "perks" of infertility.
A friend of mine did her IVF last week. They were able to transfer 2 day 5 embryos but none of the others made it to freeze. I'm praying for her so hard.

I'm scheduled for pretty scarce hours this week at work. Plus it's a short week. So I think I'll use my work days to finish my baby registries. Both of my showers are scheduled now and it seems like they're going to come fast! I think our Babies R Us registry is really close to being done. I just need to narrow it down. I added like every pacifier and every bottle known to man. Then in need to create a second one. I'm thinking Amazon for the larger nursery selection (crib sheets, curtains, etc) and the twin-centric stuff. Anything else anyone would recommend definitely getting off of Amazon?
mustloveerica, I think we went through 8-10 bottle types before we found what worked for us. Best advice there is to add 2-3 of each type you want to try instead of buying the combo sets.
As for Amazon, I got some of our furniture there and used it for a play gym and jumper

I'm also only feeling small poking and pinching. Don't over think it, we've got this!

FX for your friend!
At least it's not just me!! People always describe fetal movements as flutters but that's not what I feel at all. It really is like I'm being poked. Almost like a cramp or muscle twitch but not painful. I also only feel it on m left side. Which makes sense because baby A (right side) has an anterior placenta so I think maybe I don't feel her?
mustloveerica, that sounds like movement! Feels like popcorn.
I remember feeling a lot more movement with my son at this point, but my memory may be faulty. They're still really tiny right now, so I think it's normal not to feel much yet. But I totally get the anxiety. This is a weird time of pregnancy where you feel good, but don't get consistent reassuring kicks. Lots of love.

Ok maybe I'm not crazy then. I registered for 3 packs of almost every brand of bottles. And I figured we'd just open them one at a time until we find what works and return everything we don't open.
Pacifiers I definitely just went by cute factor. So that needs to be cleaned up for sure or I'm going to have 500 pacifiers.

I can't decide if I should do a BRU registry. I have a BBB and Amazon. I'm trying to move things from Amazon to BBB because they price match plus 20% off.

I can't jump on the pacifier train yet. I'm hoping not to use them but I have a feeling I will give in fast. Do I keep a small collection hidden until I give in?

Yes. You get a gift card with a percent back from all purchases off it. We got over $200 back with DS

I would have a couple on hand just in case. They're cheap so they're not really worth running out for at the last minute. I think the Soothies are what most newborns like? Actually they might even give you a couple at the hospital. I plan to use anything that helps me stay sane haha. The pacifier debate is big among my ILs. They are adamant I should not use them. I'm adamant my boobs will not become pacifiers.

Could be. I also feel like I'm being poked, I never felt flutters.

Thanks for the reassurance! I also started out with a good layer of chub which probably doesn't help me feel anything. That and I'm fidgety and don't sit still much.

Find you what your hospital has. We went between philips and MAM before DS preferred the philips. They gave the philips ones at the hospital and wabbanubs were a life saver some weeks.
DS took a pacifier from day one, but he was EFF from the start and loved to comfort suck. I'm no help on the EBF front as I didn't BF DS and this one won't be either

lol I just don't want M to become dependent on it and then make it impossible to throw out.
Weaning my toddler from the pacifier was a BEAST. But I can't imagine not having used it. He loved to comfort suck. I think maybe we should have just weaned sooner. I will say that it didn't affect BFing for us. We used it from almost day one (so my nipples wouldn't fall off) and BF a year.

I'm one of 6 kids. My mom had a trick for getting rid of pacifiers. When she decided it was time to be done she would take her manicure scissors and cut a nick in the pacifier nipple. She said every single one of us wouldn't take the pacifier after she did that.

We EBF DD for almost a year. Right now, she only gets a pacifier at sleepy times. As soon as she wakes up, she hands it to me in exchange for her sippy. I'm hoping to wean her off it by the time she's 2 in January. That being said, she didn't get a pacifier right away. DH was afraid of using it when she's hungry. She started at, maybe, 4-5 months? She prefers the MAM ones.
I've been locked out of my work computer for almost 2 hours. Apparently there are "system wide" problems so no one will help me. I have so much to do, and I feel like I'm going to cry. Pregnancy hormones make something so mundane like this into such a big deal. Blah.
I am working overnights for the next three nights to put the holiday packs together for customers. I am somehow hosting Thanksgiving so I ordered a holiday pack so I could not worry about making all the dishes.
Today is my ultrasound, I am suppppper excited!!! Dh isn't coming with me, because he is being lame. I want to withhold what we are having from him, but I can't keep secrets. Plus I am planning on making dd a shirt that will tell daycare what we are having.

This so much! Neither of my kids would take one. I never pushed with no1. But with no2, I begged her sweet little new born face to take it. She never did. It would of been so nice for her to use something besides my nipple as comfort. I will try again with this lo.
In another note, I'm having some issues. Yesterday I woke up with the craziest skin issue ever. My face was swollen, with itchy hives, and it feels burnt. I'm calling my ob today to see if I can move my appointment to today. I had the start of cholastasis when I was pregnant with no1. So I'm terrified it's a pregnancy related skin issue. this is pretty miserable.
MH was bragging yesterday how he went to every appt when pregnant with DD. I reminded him he's been to zero, none, zilch appts for this pregnancy and it's almost halfway through. He immediately changed the subject.

We used the avent bottle system. When we switched to the sippy nipples, he gave up the pacifiers within a month. For bottles, I legit threw them in the trash two days before his birthday and said no more. I had planned on doing the same to the pacifiers but he gave them up.
He still sleeps with his lovey though, which I highly recommend giving to an infant. He grabs it whenever he wants comfort. My pedi warned us he may sneak it to college with him.

mustloveerica are you planning on BF'ing ? That should be a huge influence in the types of bottles you pick.
You'll want the slowest flow possible. We really liked born free because I wanted to use glass bottles. When she was much older we switched to the plain Medela bottles because daycare wouldn't accept glass for that age group. We were lucky and she wasn't picky though.
As far as pacifiers go, we got a handful gifted to us. She used the wubbanub until she was 2 months. Then became a thumb sucker and doesn't use a pacie.
I do second the lovie blanket though. She LOVES her's. It's very soothing and helps her with naps and feeling secure at daycare.

ourcrazynavylife I plan to TRY to BF and pump. What bottles would you recommend? I have Avent, Dr Browns and Munchkin Latch ones on my registry currently but really just by recommendations of friends. I've collected about 10 Avent and 2 Mam bottles from free samples/registry bags/what not. The Mam ones have really weird nipples so I'm betting those won't go well.

I think the avent look pretty good for BF'ing just from looking at the sample one I was given and I know quite a few people who successfully used those. I did a quick search of the lactation facebook group I'm a part of and hands down the recommendation was - Dr Browns (direct rec from the LC)
They also said Tommy Tippee is NOT recommended.
And I've heard people say they like the old school Playtex drop-ins as well.
We plan on trying the Kiinde Twist System this go around because the bags are covered by my insurance.
