I think the avent look pretty good for BF'ing just from looking at the sample one I was given and I know quite a few people who successfully used those. I did a quick search of the lactation facebook group I'm a part of and hands down the recommendation was - Dr Browns (direct rec from the LC)
They also said Tommy Tippee is NOT recommended.
And I've heard people say they like the old school Playtex drop-ins as well.
We plan on trying the Kiinde Twist System this go around because the bags are covered by my insurance.
Avent is the one I get the most recs for. And good thing since I've acquired a pretty good free stash! I want to try the Munchkin ones just cuz they look cool and like they'd work well with the accordion nipples.
Welp, I guess I am team green for now, not by choice. This child didn't want to give up the goods. They guessed girl, but they aren't sure so you know, can't plan for nothing. This child wouldn't even let us see their face! Pray for me, this one is on track to be as energetic as their sister... I hope this means they have her curly hair too.
I bf Jo. So she didn't take bottles or pacifiers. My life was hell. It was hell for dh when I was gone for drill weekends and she would hunger strike. Since I am working this time, I am hoping this one will at least take a bottle....

mustloveerica honestly I think if they work well the pieces are worth it. The born free we use have a bunch of pieces but we just invested in the dishwasher baskets and huck them all in there to wash. NBD

You must have a better dishwasher than us. Ours wouldn't clean bottles or pieces for crap. Hand washing was the most effective for us.
The only bottle G would very reluctantly take was the Tommee Tippee, but it was only if she was starving.
She wouldn't take a pacifier, though I didn't push it in the beginning because I was scared it would eff up BFing. I did start to push it around 3 months but she just wouldn't take it.
Now, she holds one when she goes to bed so that's weird.
So anyways, I think it's good to have a few different bottles/pacifiers on hand because you never know what baby will take to. I will be pushing a pacifier and hopefully having my husband do one feed a day from the beginning this time! G definitely used me as a pacifier, which honestly was fine, but this baby I will also have a toddler so I'm not going to have time to comfort nurse for hours!

mustloveerica, I used the Dr. Brown's bottles with DD and loved them. DH hand washed them every night along with my pump parts and he said it was NBD. Only a couple extra small pieces in there and they really didn't need that much scrubbing. They are GREAT for gassy or colicky babies and have a very slow flow.
Anatomy scan was good - baby looked great but my placenta is a bit close to my cervix so they will monitor me for placenta praevia. So that sucks, but hopefully it moves. I'll have another scan at 30 weeks.
And we stuck to our guns so we're still team green!

We waited to try the paci because we didn't want to cause "nipple confusion"... until DD was 2 weeks old and eating every 45 minutes-1 hour just because she wanted to comfort nurse and I was sore and going out of my mind. I tried the pacis and she would kinda sorta take them but not really. Now she's 2.5 and a major thumb sucker.
I totally get that pacis can be a pain to get rid of, but thumb sucking is nearly impossible so far- at least you can physically take away pacifiers, I can't take away her thumb. I'll start a paci as early as I feel comfortable this time with no guilt.

We preferred the Dr Browns over any other bottle too (when G would take them) and I like that they are glass. They are very good for any gas issues.
Let me in on the secret on where you guys are getting bottle samples, please!
We'll keep in mind I'm having twins. BRU and Target registry bags both have bottles and I asked for 2 bags at each. Amazon sent me 1 in my welcome box. The daycare we visited is a brand new facility that had an open house and gave our goodie bags. I took 2 of those. Destination Maternity gave me 2 goodie bags. And the moms of multiples club gave me 2 for becoming a new member.
I am shameless when it comes to free samples and goodie bags.
I am horrible of picking out baby names. I was hoping to find out the gender so I could at least start somewhere. Now I feel like I'm back to ground zero. The same for baby stuff. My friend has all the girl clothes I gave her, so if I have a girl I am set there. If I am having a boy I need everything... I may have to start seeing if they have any cute gender neutral stuff. I couldn't find much when dd was born....

I found lots of gender neutral sleepers and onesies. I look in the boys section at Target for sleepers. But actual outfits is hard. Some things I consider gender neutral people have been looking at and going "that's for a boy! Why do you have that?" And I say "I dunno. Cuz I don't want to dress my girls in dresses and tutus everyday?"

I'll have to start looking. I had some boy/gender neutral stuff for my daughter. We were out for dinner once and she had blue on. People were commenting how cute he was, when I was like oh it's a girl, they got all pissed and asked why I put her in blue.....

I'll have to post a picture of this one outfit I got. First of all they are never worn and have tags and I got them for 25 cents each at a garage sale. But they're just plain denim overalls and then there's a neon pink, hunter green and white onesie underneath. It doesn't scream boy or girl to me. But EVERYONE feels it's necessary to tell me it's a boy outfit. Too bad. I like it. I'm putting it on my GIRLS. I figure I'll just compensate with headbands with all the boyish stuff I've picked up.

Mmmmkay next registry question. Sleep sack or swaddle me. SIL keeps telling me I need sleep sacks. I don't see the point. But I think we would use the swaddle me? At night do they still wear a onesie under the sleep sack. Actually on that note do they wear a onesie under everything? Like onesies under footie sleeper? Clearly I'm very concerned about baby sleeping outfits.
We used swaddle me's when she was tiny and then progressed to sleep sacks as she got bigger. (And she hated being swaddled so there's that)
We used sleep sacks for warmth since you don't want extra blankets, etc in the crib. And they make MOTN diaper changes easier. Just unzip and pull their legs out. We typically just did a long sleeve shirt or onesie under the sleep sack and socks on her feet.
Omg, this is killing me. So I've decided to use my Cricut and I'll just make some onesies. And then I remembered I made JO's namesake onesie and used it for pictures at the hospital. Those pictures were amazing!!
I am supposed to be sleeping, but I can't. So I am watching friends...

We had swaddle-mes but never used them. We used the Halo brand Sleep Sack Swaddles exclusively. They are nice, thick fleece so we just put her in a onesie or kimono-style shirt and diaper underneath, but she has always been more of a warm baby and didn't need much for blankets, etc. so I can see how other babies might do well with a cotton (not fleece) sleeper underneath.
Once she was rolling and couldn't be swaddled anymore, we stuck with the sleep sacks. Some of them have long sleeves and we would just do a onesie under those; if they were sleeveless, we'd do cotton sleepers underneath.
My daughter is in gender neutral clothes most of the time, the over the top "girl" or "boy" clothing is not my style. This is one of the reasons I started my own kids clothing line - lol. I wanted more black clothing for my daughter!!
People are funny though, they will say "what a cute boy" and I will say politely that she's a girl and sometimes I'll get that she's in boys clothes. She's wearing jeans and a grey t-shirt. How is that boy clothing??

Team "used everything". We used swaddle me's until she was three months and then while co sleeping used onesies and then from a year on used sleep sacks.

Sounds like we have similar tastes! Can't wait to see your stuff.

mustloveerica, I missed part of your question. If DD's shirt wasn't a onesie or if she was rockin' the sleep & play, we would do a onesie or right away, before the cord stump fell off, a kimono-style shirt under everything. They keep baby warm and are great for keeping poop blow-outs contained and not all over the furniture or floor, haha. DD wore one up until she was out of either 12- or 18-month clothes, I think.
