Also, not sure if you live in a cold weather place, but I had to stock up on hats. I like to have the babes in hats anytime we leave the house.
Where do you find hats that are bigger than the 0-6 month gerber hats but smaller than toddler hats? I have yet to find something to fit my kids' giant heads.
I haven't found any good hats, really. My littles are still tiny, so they mainly use the hats from Carters. I tried the Gerber hats, but they never stay on!
So I know you're supposed to dress babies in what you would wear plus one layer. So I wear pj pants and one of DHs undershirts to bed. Does that mean baby gets a sleeper and a swaddle me/sleep sack? Or just a fleece sleeper?
Right now, mine (5 mo) wear a short sleeve onesie and socks under a carter's long sleeve fleece sleep sack to bed. When it gets quite a bit colder, I may put them in cotton footie pjs under a sleep sack, but probably not a onesie in addition to that.
If you don't mind used, and live near a decent sized area, I recommend finding local moms sales (local moms clubs will do sales in school gyms or cafeterias. I get 90% of my DDs clothes at these types of sales for suuuper cheap.
Otherwise I do resale/consignment shops or FB BST sites.
I always layer with a carters onsie. No matter what they are wearing.
They lived in sleepers until about 2 months when I started wanting to put them in their cute clothes.
My babies are now 4 months and baby girl can still wears some newborn onsies and 0-3 sleepers. She is a peanut. Baby boy is in 3month onsies and could be in smaller 6-9 month sleepers. Sizes in baby clothes are just as weird as sizes in grownup clothes.
They always wear a sleep sack to bed. They have never been swaddled. They don't seem to do that here. (Europe)
I have cotton hats with strings from H.&.M they seem to stretch for ages they are just newborn I think but will still wear them under their winter hats so I know their ears are well covered. Their winter hats Don't tie so if they move their head, then they get uncovered.
Be prepared that its possable they will be at different sizes at any given time. I have so many cute matching outfits that they won't get to wear at the same time because baby boy is just so much bigger. At the start the gap was not so large and they could. But not now. Of course this you wont know until they are born or until you see how they grow.
