I feel like it was fast, too! I think these weeks leading up to Christmas always are crazy fast.
We have a lot of plans. Not sure if we're going to get to them all. We need to put our outdoor lights up, planning on washing off our patio so the baby can crawl around out there and stop getting unbelievably filthy, tentatively planning to go to the zoo lights, and on Sunday we're meeting my dad at a piece of property he might sell us to build a house on. I'm trying not to get my hopes up, but it would be an amazing opportunity to build a house we'd live in forever. 2.5 acres and adjacent to a stable. Basically my childhood dreams come true!
Oh and then of course all of our regular weekend stuff like groceries, laundry, getting ready for the next week. Oh and I'd like to get my Christmas cards addressed.
Morning! I'm solo parenting today/tonight (MH has his department holiday party after work and will be home late). I've been nervous about it because C's been sick all week and nursing has been going poorly, plus I'm taking him to his one year appointment this afternoon & he will be getting shots. But so far this morning he's nursed well, and no fever - still runny nose, cough, diarrhea and some digging at his ears though. Curious to see what the pedi says.
Only plan for the weekend is prepping for C's birthday party on Sunday. I'm getting excited!!
geners, good luck. my approach most those days is to set my expectations low, follow her cues and just go with it, and wine.
H is coming home tomorrow night, we have our first showing of the house scheduled for monday morning, so it'll be a busy 24 hours of house prep and hopefully a nice meal or two (my first Blue Apron box arrives today).
I had my annual appointment yesterday and I'm not impressed by my newly assigned PCP after my last one relocated. some of it's a personality thing, she's very soft-spoken and doesn't ask a lot of questions (lots of what's going on? and any questions?). she focused on a few basic things that I don't really think are issues, or maybe aren't issues yet. she said my BMI is low (18.6, I'm pretty sure 18.5 is the normal/low cut-off) and that my BP is low (96/68, again I think 80/60 is the cut-off). she was 10 minutes behind already (8:30 am) and it was clear she was using my appointment to catch-up. basically we didn't get to discussing some of the low-back and neck discomfort I'm having and she seemed to be screening me for anorexia...which my previous doctor and I had already discussed that BF was causing me to loose weight (after she ruled out thyroid and anemia issues). blah, at least it was a preventative care visit so I didn't have to pay anything out of pocket.
Brought Margs to the ped for her follow up today on her ears. Infection gone but still a lot of fluid (which she said was normal), so basically if she gets another cold in the near future Margs has an express ticket to an ear infection again. Oh joy. She is back in just over a week for her 1 year appointment. Seriously, we are at the ped all the freaking time right now!
I am pretty excited. I just found a set of crayons that should be safe for Margaret to play with. This will be a perfect Xmas present
DoesItComeInPink, we're moving in the next few months, so I'll be doctor shopping then, otherwise I would have found a new PCP after LO's disappointing 9 month appointment.
byjove A still had fluid in his ears like 2 weeks after his last dose of antibiotics so the pedi put him on a low dose of Zy.rtec at night to dry it up. We go on Tuesday, so hopefully that has all been taken care of. Sorry Margs is still sick. :(

DoesItComeInPink When DD1 had roseola I didn't want to take her anywhere even though she felt fine because I didn't want people to think I was bringing a contagious, rash covered kid to the playground!

That is good to know. Might not be a bad idea, I think we have some.

Your post made me think of the conversation with my MIL last weekend about this- she asked if it had been prescribed by a doctor and wanted to make sure we had discussed dosing with him. Omg. So- make sure you call the doctor! ;)

Ha! We actually got the ok to do zyrtec from the allergist a couple of months ago to give nightly though we haven't been... so I think we are covered at least
C still has the ear infection, amoxicillin didn't touch it. Temperature is elevated. Right after the first dose of the new antibiotic he puked everywhere. He's had diarrhea all day and we are on his third outfit. Pedi confirmed he's got 3 teeth coming in. He's refusing to nap after only a 10 minute car nap on the way home from the pedi. MH won't be home til 10.

I have a sore throat. I so hope it's allergies and not the start of a cold.
I had my last ob appointment exactly a year ago today. My ob told me it would be nice if I went into labor the next day because she was on call. Then she said 'but babies don't come on their due dates'. I left feeling discouraged and then I had my first 'that felt different' contraction at 1am.
This week was slow and painful as far as I'm concerned. Send me your sped up time please?
My mom and I were supposed to go to a baby shower today but the weather is going to be snowy and it's a four hour drive, one way, so we're bailing. No plans since I expected to be gone all day and H works tomorrow.
There are like eleventy Christmas things around our neighborhood and city today. Unfortunately we RSVPed for a birthday party during our favorite... but the location of the party is in the middle of the parade route so hopefully we won't totally miss it...
I survived all day & bedtime alone with a sick baby (so much vomit, poop and snot), including trips to the pediatrician and pharmacy. And by the time MH got home, the house was clean and I was halfway through decorating for C's party. Definitely feeling like that day was a mom achievement unlocked!
Well done geners. We already have 3 showings of our house booked this week, so I'm cleaning during naptimes. I got all Christmas presents wrapped, I'm sending them to my parents' with H. Meeting up with a friend for happy hour later

Well we decided to do zoo lights next week. I got most of my cards done and even did some wrapping! We went to the playground yesterday and the baby loved the swing. Sent my oldest off with her Grammie for an overnight and to see a golf cart lights parade tonight. H got the outdoor lights up, too.
Oh, my baby has learned how to open doors....I am not happy about this turn of events. Damn you, lever handles!!!!
We postponed C's party, I am so bummed. The poor guy just can't seem to get and stay better. Thought he seemed a little better towards the end of yesterday but he had a very rough night and morning so far today. Ended up calling the nurse's line, she said to bring him back tomorrow. Ugh I hate this.
Nothing to crazy here this weekend. I had a vendor event that was a bust in Saturday and today we sat around the house. I need to wrap Christmas presents but I'm pretty unmotivated at the moment. L turns one this Friday (Ah!) so I'm mentally preparing for that.
