All I want is to eat a bowl of ice cream, I'll even do it one handed but noooooooooooo, mom you must walk us around the house and you better not pause to take a bite.

waitwhat I just bought some A&D ointment! My mom said it was what worked for her.
jubilantsquirrel I switched to the water only wipes and we are trying to wash his bottom and pat dry as much as possible
aggiebug it did get worse with just the hydrocortisone! I called the nurses line and they said they wanted to see him tomorrow morning. (They got concerned when I mentioned it's bleeding!) They also suggested the water Vs using wipes above.
Glad you are getting seen again. Yeah the alcohol in most wiped can make it worse. We now use Pampers sensitive because they are alcohol free although still drying. On one particularly vicious bout of rash I made my own solution.
If you cut a roll of paper towels in half and then take them off the roll and fold them it works pretty well to soak them in the solution.
-1 ½ cup water
-2 tbsp melted oil (olive oil, baby oil)
-2 tbsp liquid soap or baby wash
Sorry you are dealing with this so soon. It is absolutely no fun. Also a lot of air time helps but I always have a hard time figuring out how to make that happen without them peeing and poopig everywhere especially when they want to be held.
H was on duty from 10:45 until like 15 minutes ago when he woke me because D needed to eat again. According to him she was fussy and didn't want to be put down. Hopefully now that she's with me and it's dark and quiet (instead of TV constantly on as he binge watches The League) she will sleep soundly. I didn't get a nap yesterday and I'm tired!
Henry slept more than typical today (I actually feel like he doesn't sleep as much as he is supposed to), so now of course he isn't sleeping tonight. He has been up multiple times tonight and now has been refusing to sleep since around 3ish (i've list track but it's now past 4:30).
Ugh, that sucks. There are certain days when I don't think D has slept enough and they definitely correlate with less wonderful nights. I hope he settles for you soon!
dashook MH does that as well, sits with her in front of the tv and is all 'What, she'll just fall asleep here'..
lol...no
Never fails!
Btw I can't even with our cat anymore. He now gets shut in the basement at night because I can't take his shit and I also don't trust him not to try to jump in and sleep on the newborn's head even though there are eleventy billion better places he could sleep.
I'm having a rough night. H has this stupid cough/man cold/whateverthefuck so he hasn't been helping with C overnight (or at all really). I'm fucking exhausted and pissed of having to hear him enjoy his sleep while I'm up every 2 hours. I don't want C to get sick but H had this same cough last year and I swear it lasted weeks. I can't do this by myself for weeks.
And tonight C was up at 2 and would not go back to sleep until after 4. Then of course he gets up an hour later because he's hungry again except he only ate 1/2 an ounce before he passed out. I put him down and literally the second my head hit the pillow he's crying again. Try to feed him again and he only ate another 1/2 ounce. Now he's squeaking again....

We just had our longest nighttime stretch of 3 hours! This kid likes to sleep all day and party all night.
goldenlove3, I'm sorry about YH. I went through something similar with MH with DS1. Unfortunately it took a big fight to get it resolved. I hope he starts helping out again soon, this isn't fair to you at all.
waitwhat Big fat NOOOOOOPE. But luckily it's gotten better, I'm not sure if she's just maturing and better able to et stuff up/down/out or what but she fusses a little about gas every now and then but not as much as 2 weeks ago. We do have gripe water but I've yet to try it, but that'll be my next defense! I'm glad it worked for you!!!!
goldenlove3 I'm sorry YH has "a cold". And I know what you mean about not wanting C to get it but like if you were sick you'd still have to get up/handle C. But I hear ya, it's like lesser of two evils. Hopefully he's at least helping out with other stuff around the house.
I'm so happy (almost) everyone got some sleep last night!!
Surprise surprise we actually did also! Addy finally settle down a little bit and with Alec I knew it was just a matter of time. I can deal with the wakefulness, I mean sure it's annoying bc I want to sleep, but it's her crabbiness that gets to me.
Alec does a much better job of "shutting himself down" when he needs to... It's really interesting having twins, although I *try* not to compare it's hard not to notice differences in the two. Like she doesn't shut herself down well, there's a very finite recipe for getting her to fall asleep - but she's also waaaaay more alert and engaging than he is. He just stares at you and makes grunting sounds whereas she seems to have more expression/interactive response and clearer sounds. His eating (moving the formula) is way ahead of her, but yet she makes eye contact as she eats and puts her hands on the bottle whereas he keeps his down by his sides and his eyes are closed. Just things like this, it's interesting they are so different but grew at the same time.
Doggy update: Celine is coming home today!!!!!! Wish me luck! Lol
Sorry to hear about the diaper rash victims...feel better soon, babies!
+1 starbuck27 to being happy to have pregnancy behind me (and mine was nowhere near as eventful as yours!)
Contrarily, though, knowing this is likely our last baby, I'm sad that we won't be in this phase of life anymore (I think danib mentioned this and put it much better than I am). If I could have a stork leave a third on my doorstep, though, I'd be down with it!
We also got some decent sleep last night...no MOTN partying, just waking up to nurse and going right back down. I let her sleep in the swing and I think with the little cold she has right now, being slightly more upright helped her.
jubilantsquirrel He was helping out a lot more during the Thanksgiving weekend which was really nice. Then he started with this damn cough. We're going to have to have a talk soon.
kleigh Exactly. He was working on the bathroom last night after work and it's almost done so there's that at least. We do have a lot of things to do around the house so I know that he's going to be busy some days, but I need a break once in a while.
goldenlove3, I went through similar issues with MH when DS was born. If wasn't because he was sick, it was because he "had to work," which was his excuse for doing literally nothing to help me with the baby. I have never felt so resentful in my life. He's doing better this time thankfully. I hope YH steps it up soon for you and C.

Glad YH is helping out more this time. I was upset and tired when I wrote my post earlier but H is not as bad as I'm making it seem. It's mostly days when he has other things going on too (football games or bathroom work) that are the worst and they all seem to happen at the same time. But now with this cold, he doesn't want to get C sick and I totally get it, but it sucks to watch him sleep all night while I'm up. I've already told him he owes me many full night of sleep after this.
