Nooo the swing battery just died mid-swing and I can't find the replacements.
We never seem to remember to have extra batteries (beside AA) on hand. And I can never remember which contraption uses which kind. For us, the batteries in the mobile/sound light thing always ran out. And we generally discovered it overnight and then ds2 wouldn't go back to sleep.
Ok, I need advice. Our babysitter just texted that she is running late because her daughter has a fever. Should I tell her not to come so she doesn't get the babies sick? H is in the middle of finals and was really counting on today to get work done, and I need to go grocery shopping and cook since we are having people over this weekend. So not having her would really screw us up... but two sick babies would be worse.

With my first I would not have chanced it, but now I'd be more likely to hope copious hand washing and possibly a face mask could help.

She sent her daughter to school, so I guess she must not be too sick. So I just told her to be really careful about handwashing. I hope it wasn't the wrong decision.
The truth is most viruses are the most contagious before you show symptoms so chances are if they are going to catch whatever this is, it already happened.
Great job bocaburger! I still don't really grocery shop with LO if I'm by myself. I just go grab a few things and head out.
What did you decide for the dinner?
Dinner tonight is salmon (with lemon, sour cream, and capers). Lunch tomorrow is stuffed peppers. Baked sweet potatoes and Brussel sprouts at both meals. And H is making a quinoa salad for the week.
What are you dressing your babies in for sleeping? When I go in for MOTN feedings, E's little hands are so cold!
It's been really cold here lately (high of 15 the other day, brrr!) but I keep the thermostat at 69 or 70. E does have the cold room.
I've been dressing him in cotton pajamas with footies and a fleece halo sleep sack (we still use the Merlin for naps and I think it is warmer). Fleece pjs plus fleece sleep sack seems like overkill. Maybe another layer?

Could you give him some of those no-scratch mittens?

Footie PJs and the Merlin. Her little hands are also very cold when I get her at night. But, I've read that their circulatory systems are still not awesome so hand temperature isn't telling you much about their body temperature.
I don't think she'll get frostbite at 70 degrees, but dang! I wish they did "over the hand" sleeves for babies older than newborns. I don't want to give her mittens that she'll get off...
joy carter's sells sleep gowns that have those sleeve things. They are sized 0-6m and 6-12m
OOOOH. Might buy. Thank you!
I was wrong. Sorry! It's The Childrens Place. I only found this one but they had a much larger selection over the summer. I had purchased 4 for LO with stripes, snails, dinosaurs, etc.
DD gets cold hands too, but the rest of her feels warm so I haven't done anything. She like to suck on her fingers so I don't want to take her hands away.
Ever since I had DD I have been getting cramps in my upper left ab muscle. It's gotten worse lately where I get them about half the time I'm bent over. It sucks when I get this painful cramp while I'm feeding DD because I can't exactly straighten my body to make it go away.

No matter how warm the rest of my kids bodies are, their hands are always frozen. So I go by body warmth. DS sleeps in a short sleeve onesie, footed PJ, and swaddle blanket.
There are kids playing in the outdoor pool at my complex. It's 50 degrees and there's still snow on the ground. Although I suppose it must be heated if they are keeping water in it when it was single digits yesterday.
All I have to add is that MIL asked if she could buy DS (5 months old) legos for Christmas. When I said no, she said we could just put them on a shelf until he is ready for them. I want to know why she couldn't just buy them when he is ready for them. Although, I'm sure he will get legos for Christmas now.

It's not like Legos won't be around in 2 years. My mom does stuff like that. I'm like "No I don't want to keep stuff around." I'd end up forgetting we had it.

I'm really anxious about giving DD food. I don't know how we can model good eating habits for her when I eat a very restricted diet and DH eats a lot of junk food and is a binge eater.
And I know I'm going to get pressured by my MIL to give her sweets before I'm ready, which is one reason I don't want to leave DD with her when we are over the holidays. But DH thinks I am being too strict about how long I want to wait to give her foods with added sugar. I just don't want her to be diabetic like me and I want to do anything that could possibly help prevent that.
